From what I understand, businesses with an LLC and food license get the best pricing, but regular shoppers can still buy there too, just at a higher cost. Either way, this place is a goldmine if you cook in bulk, run food service, or just love having access to serious restaurant-grade supplies. They have just about everything you could want related to food, cooking, storage, prep, and restaurant operations. Meat, produce, dairy, dry goods, seasonings, containers, equipment, supplies, and all kinds of hard-to-find bulk items. It is basically a wonderland for anyone who loves food or runs a kitchen. Fair warning: bring a jacket. A huge part of the building is basically one giant walk-in fridge, and it gets cold fast. The outside looks a little rough and dumpy, but do not let that fool you. This store is a bit overwhelming! I visited for the first time with my mom just before the Christmas holiday it wasn't too busy but everything is just so cumbersome. I would only recommend this if you're someone that doesn't mind looking up and down aisles for something but in my mind I would definitely go somewhere else to shop but I can see why people shop here. But a one and done definitely was for me. There's plenty of parking you can find some spots that are close to the door which makes it good for shopping as well as carrying items to your car there's an overhead as well that makes it easy in case the weather is bad so I do like that idea. I have been going to the depot since it has opened I really wish they would get it together they make it hard to shop there. The people are always running around on the forklifts beeping. Now the latest feature on one of the forklift guy has his radio blasting. I think the depot could make a lot more money if they would open up more lines, clean the parking lot be helpful when you come in there try to get things that the customers need. I think it's high time that management starts to think of new ways to maybe get robots because some of the employees are the rudest I've ever seen like I said I've been coming there since it is open so my career is almost at a close I just wanted to give this review so that maybe the future could be a little better at the depot but it's a rate it's going now. My first impression of Restaurant Depot was that it is a dive. The parking lot had litter all around. There was a nasty odor lingering around. It was raining the day my son and I visited so I was happy to see that they had a huge covered awning to park in. Their carts are perfect for large scale items and there's a section on top for items that are not boxed. However, they are very cumbersome to drag around; or maybe it was my particular cart, I don't know. The store is huge. They have a huge selection of items meant for wholesale from frozen, produce, restaurant items of all kind. I found everything I needed and then some. The items for sale are not clearly marked, a little organization could be useful. I will say I was very impressed of the customer service I received. Being my first time, I had no idea of their layout. I had several gentleman offer help and actually went out to seek my items and brought them back to me. First off, Restaurant Depot sells wholesale only and you need a membership card to buy anything. To become a member you need to be an owner or authorized agent of a business or non-profit organization involved in some way with the foodservice industry. Having helped a friend of my wife's set up a new restaurant back in 2012 I had a card and shopped fairly regularly here. That was years ago and I long ago surrendered my card. Recently, I found myself in need of some items for a small cookout I was planning as part of a fundraiser for a local charity so I borrowed a friend's card and headed for Restaurant Depot. It had been several years since my last visit and I immediately noticed some improvements to the huge private parking lot with the front part of the lot now being covered so shoppers may more comfortably load their vehicles while being protected from inclement weather. Inside, things are mostly unchanged. The store is huge but never seems quite big enough with some items staged on the floor and crowded aisles. The store appears a little dirty and unkempt. Rest assured you can find anything you need here to start up and maintain a restaurant business from fresh and frozen foods, dry goods, supplies, equipment, fixtures, etc... Some reviewers have complained about the staff but I have always found employees to be friendly, helpful and available. A few things to be aware of. Number one, bring a jacket because if you plan on spending any time in the expansive refrigerated area you will definitely be very uncomfortable without a coat or jacket. Number two, prices are not marked on products. When shopping the aisles most prices are on the shelves so you will need to match up the prices with the products. If you are buying items being sold by the pound there will be a label indicating the weight and the price per pound so you can calculate the price. Not a big deal but just something most shoppers aren't used to. Number three, prices here aren't always the lowest. There are some great bargains but some beef, pork and dairy items I checked were actually cheaper at Sam's Club. Overall, Restaurant Depot is a decent and convenient one-stop-shop for local restaurants and other foodservice related businesses. Membership is free with the proper credentials. Hours of operation are pretty convenient too with them being open Monday through Friday at 6AM, Saturday at 7AM and Sunday at 8AM. The worst restaurant depot, the staff was rude, yelling at the customers, because I couldn't hear what he was saying, I was waiting in line to pay, and they parked in the middle of the road in a truck they usually use to move goods, After a while, one of the staff (I think it was the guy recycling the cart in the parking lot who tried to walk behind me) didn't understand what he was saying the first time, then he started yelling at me, the staff was rude and there was no service, you couldn't find anyone to help you (in the vegetable section) and they were driving behind you all the time pulling goods, Sometimes they say the F-word all over the place. I love to come here and look at all the stuff they have. Having grown up in the restaurant business, I really enjoy seeing the bulk food items for almost anything you can image to open and run a food business. I come for the fresh seafood. Make sure you bring a warm winter jacket as you are in a huge walk in fridge. I don't know how these guys aren't frostbitten working in here all day long! It's a working man's Costco/Sam's club. Restaurant depot is a members only food/merchandise distribution facility, where business owners can buy different necessities at a wholesale prices. This is the only location in the 757 area. My sister owns a catering business, and I went with her to help load some purchases for an upcoming catering event she's having. In previous reviews, terrible customer service has been mentioned a lot. I definitely must say I agree. The customer service here is atrocious from the point you walk through the door. The attendees working the member check-in station don't greet any customers with a "hello," "how are you?," or anything. They mostly just carried on their personal side conversations. As you walk through the store, there are other associates working the floors, no one asks "are you finding everything ok?" or anything on those lines. Everyone's kind of just in their own head space. Terrible business. The store seems to be in the process of expanding, however some of the aisles are cluttered. It can be disastrous trying to navigate the large carts through the walk-ways around the other customers and mess that they may have in the aisles, not to mention the forklifts already going through the aisles as the associates restock the shelves. On the brighter side, this store does offer a wide variety of wholesale items that is a great asset to any restauranteur. Always have to come here to get stuff for the restaurant. You really can't beat the prices here. Located down on a boulevard going towards Witchduck rd. This place is great of you want to purchase a colossal of meat/produce for cheap. They also have a variety of To-Go containers, cleaning supplies, silverware, organization bins and buckets of that sort. The staff here is friendly and everyone always greets you. Rest depot is not the most consistent. There were many times we had to get different take-out containers and produce because they ran out. And when they restock is not the same items from last time. Other than that we usually get the same things, never really had too much of a problem looking for what I needed. Will come back here to get food for big events and parties. You are required to have a membership here. They scan your ID card before purchases. You can sign up by bringing your Business license/tax exemption certificate. I come here because of my business. Most of the employees are rude and I can't tell you how many times I've almost been run over by the guys on those trolleys. The prices are going up more than grocery stores, which doesn't make sense since we come here to get better prices in bulk. A box of oyster mushrooms used to be $11.97 and the last time I grabbed 2 boxes the price was $21.97 per box! WTH?? Well, if I could find something other than shrimp to buy, nothing really would save me that much money. I compared weights , quantities, and quality to my normal grocery store and found the ratio for quantity to food costs to be nearly the same. Lets just say its not for everyone and they do have stuff that you have never seen before. The only thing that bothered me was that some of the meat seemed so unorganized it would be hard to tell how long some of it had been frozen for or actually what it was you were buying. Its for restaurants without a doubt, or if you have a very large family. I will stick with SAMS Club for all my large quantity items! The employees are all nice, helpful too. But........they are seriously out of everything. You never go there and get all of your order. They tell you corporate sends them random stuff. I believe it they can never tell you when it's coming in so if you depend on this company to get your products you will be out of business fast. This place is horrible!! Always long lines, HORRIBLE customer service from the front end cashiers, lazy manager who sits in his office, etc.. While checking out today, an item (Duck) did not have a tag on it. They are supposed to put the tags on everything, right? So they paged the meat department to come to the registers for a "meat tag". After waiting over 10 minutes, I asked if they were coming or not. 2 minutes later their employee came in the building through the exit door, walked over to my cart, and stated he would be right back. The employee smelled like smoke and was obviously outside instead of doing his job. I don't have time to wait around for employees that smoke. You do need a card to shop here, and to get a card/membership, you have to have a business license. The card is free and lasts for a year. Pricewise, it is very reasonable and caters to restaurant owners, although any business owner can shop here. If you need or want organics, management will give you the name and contact info of the person who does ordering and he can get you nearly anything. They are on par with Costco for a lot of their prices, but they are cheaper for a lot of things, too. The atmosphere is very much like some of the other warehouse stores, with less focus on presentation. I gave it four stars for service more than anything else; the staff here is super friendly and goes out of their way to help me all the time. I can't complain about the products. But the customer service was lacking. I get that it's a warehouse, and we're not going to be accomodated hand and foot like some other retail. But blatant rudeness is never called for. Every time I've gone to purchase products, I feel like a menace rather than a valued customer. I come here at least once a week or two to buy grocery for my house since I got a big household. Membership is required to shop here but it's free however you need to use a business license in order to get the membership. Everything here is by the bulk which can save so much money verses going to regular grocery stores. The space here seems to be too small for the inventory they offer, cause every aisle have product on the floor due to small space. They have almost everything a restaurant needs. Produce, meant, cake, ice cream, soup, sauces, bread, seasoning, oil, styrofoam containers, fresh seafood, frozen food, sodas, candy, restaurant equipment & supplies.. etc, you get the point. While they have the products they don't really have any costumer service. You checking at the front desk to scan your membership card while pushing a cart and off you go. We were trying to get the attention of one of the workers riding on the forklift by waving to him, he told us "don't give him hand gestures, that's rude and disrespectful".
