I've been a loyal Fresh Market customer for quite a while and order from them frequently through delivery. Overall, I've had consistently great experiences, which is why I wanted to share both the positives and one area that could use some attention. The Fresh Market has one of the best meat counters around. Their filet mignon is my go-to purchase, and it's always been outstanding. Their produce is consistently fresh, and I also love their bakery. They regularly offer unique seasonal and specialty baked goods that are always worth trying. Today, I decided to order their fresh bruschetta because it's not something many stores carry. I was excited to try it, but unfortunately, when it arrived, it didn't look fresh at all. Even though the container is dated to expire tomorrow, it had a milky appearance that made it look unappetizing and, in my opinion, not safe to eat. I understand that products can occasionally slip through the cracks, but I think this is something that should have been noticed before it made it into a customer's order. Whether it's during stocking, by the department team, or at checkout, I hope more attention is given to products that no longer appear fresh, even if they're still within the sell-by date. Overall, this one experience won't keep me from shopping at The Fresh Market. I still highly recommend them for their excellent meat department, fresh produce, bakery, and the convenience of delivery. I just hope they take a closer look at product quality so future customers don't have the same experience. So the next morning I woke up with the intention of drinking my Bizzy Expresso Cold Brew Coffee only to find it expired a month ago which is very concerning and disappointing! This place feels more like a curated boutique than a grocery store. It's smaller than your average supermarket. The Highlights: Florals: We stopped in a few days after Valentine's and scored some beautiful bouquets on sale. Quality: The produce is vibrant and the butcher counter/meats are top-tier. Easy Meals: My favorite part! We ordered a Margherita pizza and they made it fresh. They have a small dining area with a microwave, which is super convenient for a mid-day bite. The One Downside: This location doesn't have an in-store cafe. A fresh latte or a smoothie would have been the perfect with our pizza. Bottom Line: Great for high-quality essentials and easy meals. We have been coming here for years whenever we're in the area. On this last trip we purchased some meat that was vacuum sealed from New Zealand. The next day, we planned on having the steak for dinner. So when I cut the package open, it smelled so bad. The smell filled the house but the meat didn't look bad. We called the food store, they were very understanding and ended up giving us a refund, which we used to buy some fresh cut steaks ( which ended up be amazing). I am so very happy to shop here knowing how they handled our issue and would highly recommend them for some fresh steaks or some of the prepared food they have ( we've never had the prepared food there tho). read more

Fresh Market's Thanksgiving meal was magically delicious!! I'm one who typically enjoys preparing every dish during my favorite holiday. This year I am bedridden and decided to celebrate Thanksgiving early while family members were present caring for me. I ordered a Traditional Holiday Meal for $99 from Fresh Market which included the following: * Fully Cooked Turkey (10-12 lb) * Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes (3 lb) * Traditional Herb Stuffing (3 lb) * Homestyle Turkey Gravy (30 oz) * Cranberry Relish with Walnuts (1 lb) * Soft Golden Dinner Rolls (12 ct) When my daughter picked up the food, it was all cold, some frozen, and packaged in a really nice cooler!! My adult children heated everything up while they also prepared other dishes and early Thanksgiving was served!! The turkey was surprisingly juicy, rolls fluffy, mashed potatoes creamy, and I loved the fresh cranberry relish!! It wasn't too sweet or tart! The stuffing was basic but also very flavorful! There was more than enough food for approximately 8-10 people. Kudos to The Fresh Market members, Jay, Charlotte, & Bonnie! I finally went inside The Fresh Market. Its located by Pembroke Mall. There's plenty of parking out front. Traffic can get a little congested at the front because of the light if its a busy time. But it moves pretty quickly. When i walked in the store was clean and looked very organized. They have a nice selection of produce, meats, baked goods, prepared meals, and more. In my opinion the prices are a little high. They had several cold pressed drink options which i like. The seafood section had crab cakes, shrimp cakes, and a lot of quality seafood. The prepared meals didn't appeal to me. They looked like they were sitting for a while and were probably bland. They did have a lot of healthy options as well. The dessert section had pecan bars, cookies, cakes, and other delicious looking desserts, but again they were high priced. I liked the candle section. It was lots of scents to choose from. I was surprised that its such a nice store but NONE of the employees said hi or had any interaction with the customers until you checkout. I'm not saying they were rude but it would make the store stand out more for having good customer service. The produce they had looked fresh!! I purchased a few of the different drinks they had but when i got home and tried them they weren't good. Ugh. $3 for one canned drink had me expecting it to be good. The cans were just pleasing to look at. I guess i learned a lesson. Looks can be deceiving!! Lol. If you sign up for their rewards you get a free cake for your birthday. Good deal!! There's a big candy section with different treats that you pay by the pound for. Awesome!! All in all its a nice store. I like their surf and turf selection, it gives you fun meal ideas . They also have candy dispensers which I loved. I like this grocery store because isn't overwhelming. After easily over a dozen visits I'm tardy on this review. However finding the right placement was important for me and I believe a 4 fits them well now into their third year in business. Located in Town Center and more specifically Pembroke Mall, however there is no entrance to the mall. That would have been clever in my opinion. The parking lot is not large, but adequate. Typically the lot is clean, but debris has been seen even on walk up. If your expecting a huge mega market this would not be it. The grocery stocks smaller niche items, but don't get me wrong they pack a lot in and good variety of product that lean more healthy. Many know them for their nut bar with over 20 to choose from that are purchased by weight. They are excellent at marketing specials, so if your on their email expect weekly traffic. What I especially like about them is they are an easy in and out. They have an above average selection of fruit and the meat department is excellent! As a matter of fact it was a meat special that drew me in for my last visit and the strips were excellent cooked up on the bbq. Also a bargain price. They also have a strong selection of beer and wine that's been a personal draw. A specific favorite is a Austin Hope wine from NAPA. Our family has used the prepared meal department several times and it's above average and the price can't be beat easily in the area. The rotisserie chicken is a favorite. I recommend calling ahead. Meals that feed four are $14.99 and Sundays $2 off. The overall service has been above average from different departments to checkout. Oh by the way love the fact there is no self checkout. I think they are stronger now than there first year. However there is still room for improvement. The Fresh Market has two locations in Virginia Beach. It's critical that the grocery differentiate themselves with intense competition. In my opinion service can be their weapon. Specials as noted has also picked up which is key. Differentiating themselves is especially true of this store and a new Wegman's across the street. I will be honest, The Fresh Market is not in my regular rotation, but I work them in monthly. The price point is often higher than others. But also the quality of items often warrant. I really like the fact I can easily park and get in and checkout within no time. Simply amazing. All I can say is wow! I'll admit, I thought this was one of those bougie, fancy grocery stores and it wasn't on my to do list to stop here but fate brought me on in. Walking in, everything was very calm (which is great because covid-19 is overtaking the world). Carts were wiped down and given to you upon entering. Everything is well organized and almost soothing how tidy it is. Had to purchase some meat & I typically don't like to do so because I have no clue what I'm doing & I don't want the butcher to get annoyed with me. Stood there pretending to know what I was doing & I heard the most gentle "Hi, is there anything I could help you with?" and it washed away my anxiousness. Quick and to the point. We were down the street on this beautiful Saturday and decided to make a quick stop in. We have never been to the fresh market before. We were very excited to see how clean and well put together this place was. Upon entering you see beautiful flowers and herbs on display. The smell of fresh coffee beans takes you to their big variety of coffee beans. We definitely grabbed some and grounded it up. Had a cup as soon as we got home. So fresh and delicious. They have such a cute little set up of bananas and clementines for the kids to grab, as a way to promote healthy eating. Very nice! I love Fresh Market, it is always very nice place to make the shopping. Certainly it is more expensive than other Food Stores, what sometimes it is justified for upper quality in local and international products. I found international tasty sauces as aioli, hollandaise even black truffles. I also recommend the Responsible Bee, Valerian and Jasmine Rishi Tea (best!!!! with brown sugar cubes), bread toasts mixed with fruits and nuts, and digestive cookies. I am a healthy foodie, and I always like to cook different international recipes, that's true I can not find these quality products everywhere. They also have a very nice flowers selection. I love this store. It has a wide variety of specialty and health conscious foods. The food bars always look fresh and clean. The prices are a little on the expensive side, You just have to know when they have sales. Every Wednesday is $5 sushi. Thursdays is $5 rotisserie chicken, and they even have family meals similar to the Blue Apron box where they provide the ingredients and recipe and you go home to cook it. My favorite thing about the store is the coffee selection. I am a coffee lover and they have a lot to choose from. There is a big wine selection as well. When I go there is never a line. The Fresh Market was around way before Trader's, Wegmans or Whole Foods for the area. I do not shop here regularly, but I do come for the meal deals and weekly specials when there is something I like. It really is a nice place for single people as they have premade/cooked meals ready to go. The service is almost always great and the store is nice and clean. The bakery in the back is dangerous with all the diet killing sweets. IF I had to say anything negative of the Pembroke location is the parking lot can get a little crazy as the entrance is right were the cars exit out and can get a little scary. People from REI/Target/the mall move across the grocery storefront to get out. read more

If you've never been to the fresh market, please do yourself a solid and go! It's a higher end super market but deals thru out the week make it affordable. Tuesdays and Sundays they have a whole chicken meal deal. This deal comes with a whole rotisserie chicken, 2 large sides and 6 cake like corn muffins for $12.99. That's less than you would spend at a Boston Market. Sundays is also Surf and turf Sundays with good deals on steak and seafood. Fresh Market, how do I love you? Let me count the ways. I love you to the depth and. breadth..... This is getting to be a little much, don't you think? Seriously, my life has been totally changed by the opening of the Town Center Fresh Market. Eating healthy is made so much easier by having this gem in Bayside. Before my broken kneecap, eating constrains were self imposed by working long hours. Now the impetus is physical. A wonderful selection of pre-prepared entrees are available for your choosing. How hard can it be to just pop them in the oven and wait. Voila, dinner!! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Yes, we have had a Fresh Market in Virginia Beach for many years. But anyone who enjoys the traffic tangle and strange access roads in the Laskin/First Colonial corridor must also love jigsaw puzzles with missing pieces. What a wonderful, pleasant shopping experience is Fresh Market. As you enter, the first thing that greets you is soothing, classical music. Wooden floors take you out of the realm of other grocers. All the displays are positioned in a spacious manner, avoiding any crowded shopping. The produce offerings are quite varied and reasonably priced, considering the upscale setting. Fresh rutabagas were a surprise find, not usually savored by any except Deep South natives of a certain age. The cherries were large and juicy. Blueberries were absolutely fabulous and offered in a large or small container. The shelves were well filled and without the hindrance of continuous employee restocking, blocking one's shopping access. Oh, how wonderful are the pre prepared offerings, both in the deli and the meat sections. Why would one ever cook again when you can pick up a scrumptious quiche, healthy pizza, meat loaf or entree item fitting anyone's choice? The deli department includes a wonderful selection of fresh sushi, the best spring rolls I have ever eaten, and awesome Asian dumplings. The grocery aisles and dairy case offer selections for both the gourmet cook and healthy eater. But oh what a surprise I found in frozen foods. There were large resealable bags of unbreaded okra, black eyes peas and field peas with snaps. Those are normally impossible to get items in the MidAtlantic. Bur the crowning glory of frozen foods were the home style deep dish crust chicken pot pies. These were like no other product by that name. The full sized pie crust encased a delight of large, fresh, white chicken pieces, veggies, with very little juice. Awesome is the best word to describe this offering. You must try Fresh Market's signature pimento and cheese. Spread on their English Toasting Bread, ever slightly heated, it makes a tasty delightful lunch. When the Town Center Fresh Market first opened, I was so injured that I was unable to shop. I now understand my sister, from a small town in Alabama, being overwhelmed by the store the very first time. She misses you Fresh Market. And you have changed my life. read more

I drive from Suffolk to Hilltop at least 3x a month. I'm a bit of a food snob. I am always impressed by stores that give outstanding customer service. The Fresh Market never fails. I love their chicken Italian sausage, steaks, salmon, chicken, shrimp and crab cakes. Their produce is fresh and I generally like the vibe of the store. This location can get crowded with folks coming and going from the mall or REI and it backs up at the stoplight right in front sometimes, but I have found other ways and areas to park to get to it. This is one of the prettiest supermarkets I've been to. They have a really good lunch deal, you get two sides and one entree. In this case, I ordered a cheddar turkey burger, bowtie pasta and artichoke salad, all of it was great and tasted oh-so-fresh. We walked around some more just to notice how beautiful it is inside. The prices are a little too high, like a bag of roasted nuts were $12. I was a little shocked to see this, I prefer Trader Joe's prices. The dessert section is on point! I had to resist....ALOT! They have a nice variety of food with healthy options and not so healthy options. The sole purpose of my visit was to sample items you can purchase pre cooked for Thanksgiving. Having the opportunity to try the items before committing to purchase for a holiday is a nice touch. The food itself was delicious from the desserts to the turkey, Ham, cranberry sauce etc. The only concern determining my sister and my decision were which items contained or were exposed to peanuts. I myself have a series of food sensitivities and a food allergy but none that are severe unless I consume copious amounts and surprisingly peanuts aren't one of my food sensitivities/allergies. I have an niece and nephew that are allergic to peanuts. It was a bit of a feat to find out which items contained peanuts. My first thought was to locate a manager to identify the items with peanuts but we were directed to the deli department which I am reluctant to say were not very helpful. They weren't rude but weren't very proactive either. I asked a gentleman making sushi and asked him where to find the manager and he pointed to a lady working on the floor. I'm not sure that she was a manager but her name was Debbie (according to her name tag) and she was the most resourceful, diligent employee I encountered that day. Debbie took it upon herself if she was going to provide information re:ingredients she wanted to put safety first and be accurate instead of guessing. She was able to provide me copies of the labels of ingredients of the respective food items. Unfortunately, the labels had the disclaimer that the product was produced in a factory that contains peanuts so although they may not be in the actual product there's potential for exposure. Overall The Fresh Market is a decent place, but I don't frequent it as often because of the prices, but on occasion they do have their weekly sales/discounts on meats. There's outdoor seating If you're hungry and need a quick bite to eat, or if you work nearby and it's lunch time, you can pick up a sandwich or hit up the salad bar or whatever. If you need to replenish your pantry or fridge, you can do that, too. Weather and time permitting, help yourself to the outdoor seating towards the side of the bldg. I came in late on a Saturday evening after dinner just to check it out and as expected, I was pretty much in heaven. The plants at the front certainly were welcoming. I love orchids and at $20 a pop I found it to be reasonably priced - they're huge and beautiful! I didn't have much in mind for any particular purchases but I did find just a few random items (4 to be exact) that came with a shocking price tag - $27! Shewww!! But hey, I expected that, too. I have been hearing about this place a lot from my sister and cousin, that I finally went and shopped. This is my first time ever going to a fresh market, I have always wanted to go to the one in hiltop but it was too far from my house. Glad they finally opened one up closer to home. Anyways, as I walked in I was really amazed bc its not like an ordinary grocery store down the corner. It was nice, organized and had lots of organic food to choose from. They have not just regular grocery stuff, they also have a Deli area in the middle. There are so much to choose from, from sandwiches made to your liking, self-serve salad bar, sushi rolls, pizza, etc. They have a great seafood and meat area too towards the back. The bakery, is oh my gee dessert heaven!! It was a choice of cookies, red velvet cheesecake or a Cannoli and of course had to be different and chose the Cannoli (mMmMm). They even have different choices of coffee, nuts, trail mixxes, and candy to choose from (it's own dispensers and bag yourself, buy by pound) very cool! I won't lie, I felt like a kid when I saw the candy aisle (my jaw dropped lol) but I did resist aghhhhh! Customer service was awesome! I had asked a gentleman (I think he was the manager) where I could find the organic honey, and he actually left what he we doing and help show me where it was located. PRO: Organic is better, and so much stuff to choose from! Loved the layout and how organized it was. The bakery we soooooo on point. I also love how they have a little area to sit at and enjoy whatever we bought from the Deli or Bakery. CONS: Pretty pricey, and the parking lot is crazy small. This was my first time here. The Pembroke area is really coming along nicely! I frequented the Fresh Market at Hilltop once in a while, but didn't really have an urge to drive all the way out to the beach for it. But now that it's close by I see myself coming out here a loy! The area is great, the store inside is beautiful. Today was a Saturday so it was PACKED. I'm interested to go in the middle of the week to check it out. They have a great selection of everything though! Wine, cheese, bread, meat. Now I know Whole Foods is really into showcasing local food/items. One of the many reasons I love them. But I'm not sure if Fresh Market is the same. I don't think I saw anything there today talking about fresh produce from local farms and such. But I might go back when it's less busy and really look through everything. I do hope this is the case though! Great addition to this booming area. Fresh Market is a bit more expensive than a conventional supermarket, but it's not somewhere you go to stock up, it's a great place to buy those odd items for your French recipes! I'm glad they opened up this place, this is a lil bit closer to where I live. I think this is a great addition to Virginia beach town center. The place sells fresh organic groceries. They have a fresh deli area, fresh seafood options, bakery that's sells tons of desserts over the counter (they have Cannolis!) They have specials on their desserts, they have an area that had already prepped food or already made/cooked food, like pizza, sushi, and more! A candy aisle, heaven for kids, paid by the lb. Bought their fresh made peanut butter and banana bread and it was Delicious, not too sweet and not dull, it's great eating it while drinking Hot tea.
