Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

As a Chinese, I understood more than 50% of the conservations (Chinese). Which doesn't mean anything about the food. Just observation. Onion soup - 2 stars. First, the cheese failed to emit the baked, melted gruyere cheese, there is no aroma at all. I don't think they used gruyere cheese. May be mozzarella cheese. The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

The quality of service is at the high end level. Wine list is just the wine amateur heaven. Fantastic wines, mainly from France, are just waiting for your pleasure. The sommelier is extremely wise and savvy. So, my recommendation is to listen to his advices, as often in high end restaurants. All the champagne and wines I had the pleasure to taste were really excellent. So, do not hesitate to spend some bucks for this kind of rare pleasure. Last the food. Wow!! Even, after two years, I can remember some amazing tastes. They have daiLy suggestions. Do not hesitate. They are fantastic. The chef succeeds in keeping the original taste but also adds very subtle flavored which do not fight with the main ingredient. This is valid for blue lobster, pigeon, beef. I can tell your, when we taste, the table gets suddenly silent as the guest are under the charm. This is a sign that cannot mislead you. Last comment: do not invite people that do not appreciate good food and good wines. I got true compliments from Asian people, french people obviously. I did not dare to invite west coast US guys, not being sure they will truly appreciate. So highly recommended. Plan for 250/ 300€ if you follow the daily recommendations are take some good wine. It deserve the money and your guests will really appreciate the treat.

I got the formule, an entrée and plat for 27 euros and my husband got the entrée, plat, and dessert for 34 euros. They have two local beers, both very tasty and the Brouilly I got was excellent. The yellow pepper soup was amazing and the magret was for the most part very good (there was a lot of pepper on it-too much for my taste-and a couple of pieces were dry and overdone). The amuse-bouche was homemade beet purée with fresh herbs which was delicious. The vegetables were out of this world, especially the carrots and potatoes. My husband got the feuillette of Louis XIV and loved it. He drained his bowl of pork in broth. The bread was interesting, there was a completely black bread which tasted fresh and yummy. The total was very reasonable at 85 euros for what we got. The gardens are just spectacular although we sat indoors because of the rain but they had a fire going which made it a very cozy, inviting, and romantic dining experience. A real gem of a restaurant! And they served us a literal vat of mousse au chocolat made in house that despite our best efforts, we could not finish.

We made reservations via email ahead of time, but there wasn't a huge need to as the restaurant was quite empty, with only one other party dining at that time (8:30ish). We had reservations but I believe sat in the area that's L'Opera. That room is large with tons of natural light and elegant seating options, contrasted to the dark oak library looking bar restaurant part. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie board, which was phenomenal. We saw there were multiple types of butter available to eat with the bread and had fun trying different combinations, paired with our wine. My friend then ordered I believe a tuna tartare, and I ordered pate with strawberry glaze. Everything was incredible. We finished dinner with the chocolate mousse which was the perfect ending. My wife and I came to Le Stradivarius for dinner while staying at this charming country chateau only 20 minutes from the Paris airport. The food was simply amazing and the service was immaculate. The decor reminds one of dining in an old Parisian mansion, rich with history and baroque appointments. For dinner my wife and I ordered the three course meal. My wife chose the octopus starter, the "Red Mullet" fish course and a lemon tart for dessert. She enjoyed her meal, but she fancied what I ordered much more. I order frois gras patte starter, the filet minion and frois gras main with truffle potatoes and the lemon tart for desert. My dinner was absolutely magnificent. Everything was simply delicious. With excellent food, a romantic atmosphere, and 5 star service, Le Stradivarius is perfect for a date night of for special celebrations. I truly enjoyed my evening here. 5 Stars.
