The only way I could describe it is it felt like a hug. A comforting hug after a day hiking in the cold. Both dishes just felt like something your grandma would make for you when you visited. Lovely location with a great view and very cozy, homey feel. I saw that two tables ordered fondue so that's available as well. The carrot cake was the perfect way to end the meal. We thanked the chef profusely for the meal, it has really stood out for us as one of the best meals we had on our trip! We tried to eat there a second time but pay close attention to when the kitchen closes. Don't miss out because you were a little late!

For mains ordered the barbecued veal short ribs (which had great char and flavor) and the fried trout filets. The filets were very nicely breaded and fried, but needed a little salt and pepper to spice them up. Bonus points for the restaurant having a chili sauce to add as well. The included sides and sauces were very good too. Would eat here again on a return trip to Lungern.
