The ambience was loud and not proper for a restaurant that charges $30 plus the plate. I will not recommend this restaurant.

I decided to try the tripleta sandwich de platano, expecting perhaps a plump plantain bread or maybe the standard sandwich with plantains added. What I got was a nightmarish fried lump of hell. The meaty cheesy filling inside was incredibly delicious, but the agonizingly dense and adamantine outer structure consisting of some sort of deep fried plantain biscuits was enough to drive a man mad. Grease literally oozed from them. I eventually just ate out the filling, which proved to be quite an expensive meal at almost $8 for just a nibble of some tasty filling. Served on a proper bread, it would have been a fantastic sandwich and well worth the price. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would ever want to attempt to eat those greasy slabs of plantain, though I suppose you could probably fashion some armor out of them if you got enough of them.

Just to make things worse, our hostess is waiting for us as we walk in and in a heavy German or Nordic accent instructs us to walk in and as we walk, stop at a podium, quickly take a picture of the menus and then hurry to the back of the restaurant to our table. Very precise and militaristic. Finally, dessert options straight from Costco, Reese's Cheesecake! Next time I am in Vieques I will make a point of avoiding this place. Not for me.
