When you need a break from Puerto Rican cuisine head here for some great Mexican food. We split the spicy wings which were crispy but not very spicy. The steak fajitas were a huge platter of tasty meat, onions and peppers with 6 flour tortillas. Plenty to share although I wish we had more of the tasty guacamole . Great Mexican food spot near Luquillo / El Yunque. Valet parking option. The menu is a little confusing and I'm still not fully sure between the burrito super and super supreme. The guacamole is more of an avocado salsa with chunks of avocado in an acidic sauce, not a mash, but it's delicious. Had the chicken fajita burrito - the sauce it's covered in is amazing. I could drink that by the gallon. The chips and salsa are good - the salsa is very spicy and delicious! Very reasonably priced. Super casual inside. Our family went here last night at the recommend of a family we met at the beach. The place was packed! Parking was a little tricky, but there are workers outside that can help you find a spot. We didn't have to wait very long before being seated. Our waiter was extremely friendly and allowed us to use our Spanish with him even if it took us a little longer because we are language learners. The drinks and food came out pretty quickly and it was delicious. The portions were good and the price was reasonable for the amount of food served. We had no complaints. We ordered dessert--tres leches and mango passion fruit cheesecake. Yum! The only complaint I had was that it was extremely noisy. It could be that we were a party of six seated near other loud parties...but it was so loud that it was hard to hear our waiter and each other at times. read more

So I have no idea why we stopped for Mexican food in Puerto Rico of all places. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't particularly good either. I ordered the super nachos which I was too hungry to snap a pick of and an Al pastor taco. The nachos were OK, not too expensive so I won't complain, but the portion size was quite small and there wasn't much meat like you'd get in LA/Mexico on nachos. Coming from LA, my expectations for Al pastor tacos are pretty high. Again, not bad, but they weren't worth 2.75(crazy high for a taco btw) I think it's a solid place to go with the family if y'all are in a pinch and don't know what to eat. There's a decent selection of kid's dishes, your chicken strips, burgers etc and the food isn't crazy expensive. The customer service is also really great. The servers were very attentive and kind, as you'd expect in PR. TLDR: Solid prices. Definitely overrated, tho. read more

We just finished the bioluminescent bay night kayaking tour and were looking for a spot to recharge for the night. Unfortunately, Lolita's didn't answer their phone, so we had to order at the restaurant and wait a standard time for takeout. The staff were all super friendly and let us wait in our car and gave us a ring when everything was ready. After reading the reviews, we were excited to taste "authentic" Mexican food and went with: two orders of fish tacos; a trifecta of meat tacos (res, carnitas, and al pastor); a quesadilla; and ultra nachos (chicken) to share. The highlights of the meal were definitely the (fried) fish tacos -- they gave a lot of fish and it had just the right amount of avocado, mayo, and onions. The nachos were pretty standard, but nothing to seek out, though the hot sauce was good. Unfortunately, everything else kind of fell flat -- the quesadilla was just alright, but each of the tacos were a bit inedible. Regardless of the meat choice, it seemed their method of choice was to have everything in a ground meat form and season it according to what type of taco it was. While the tortillas were good (we got maiz), the meat was just...not. Tl;dr: All in all, an okay spot to stop by, but nothing to "WOW" you. Get the fish tacos, and avoid the tacos/quesadillas. read more

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant tonight. I went with my mother and my wife for my mom's 60th birthday. This is the first dinner in Puerto Rico after a long day hiking in El Yunque. We were very impressed by the service. They were very attentive to detail and very friendly. From the beginning, we were greeted by kind staff who offered valet parking. Our server Jaileen was also wonderful. This place is excellent for vegetarian food. We had vegetarian enchiladas, nachos, and chimichangas. The server was knowledgeable about how to customize the food to make it vegetarian. For example, she knew that the refried beans did not have lard. They also had soy meat. The drinks were refreshing as well. We had a piña colada and fresh guava juice. We would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to have a nice dinner in Puerto Rico. read more

Hmmmm would I come back here again? YES!! Solely because the margarita was super delicious, well made and cheap! The margarita didn't have ice in it but it was made with the right amount of tequila. Hubby and I shared a chips and guacamole which was a little disappointing because the chips tasted generic and the guacamole was not out of this world, it was as if they didn't even try to make good guacamole. My in laws had a burrito that was huge and thick so I definitely want to try that next time. They come here a lot and always order that so I guess it's a must. Ordered chips and guac and was beyond ecstatic to hear they had avocados. We haven't been able to have any guac the last 5 days since we arrived here in PR. The chips weren't so fresh at all and the guac was just okay, very bland. The mango juice was okay but not great, was hoping for something as yummy as the Looza mango juice, it wasn't. The green tomatillo house salsa is good and spicy. My hubby got the 3 fish taco dinner and I got the bean tostada with soy meat and the cheese quesadilla with soy meat with the red sauce. The rice with the dinner was just okay, bland. The soy meat taco and the cheese enchilada were both good. The bean tostada was just okay, nothing special and the hard corn shell wasn't very hard or crispy as I like it. My hubby and I really enjoyed the fish taco and the flavors came together nicely with the avocado and cream topping and the crispness of the fish breading. This is by far the BEST mexican food I have ever had...and I have been to Mexico! Have been coming to this restaurant for over 10yrs and keep coming back every chance I get. The three dishes I can always vouch for 100% are: Chicken Burrito Wet with everything (I ask for rice on the side), the letter D (taco, tostada and enchilada- chicken) and the Churrasco. Their Parcha frappe is also on point. And to top it off, the Tierrita Dulce...Vanilla or Chocolate. They are both to die for! They have outside seating and I encourage you to take advantage of nice days out to sit outside :) read more

This place is packed. There was a line. Valet parking tip what you want. I'm trying to understand why it's so packed. The service was not that great for my table. Then the food was not good, bland, no flavor. The waiter never even asked how we liked the food when picking up pretty much full plates. It was not even picture worthy food. I ordered tacos two were rolled up with lettuce and tomato thrown on top. One was open flat. Can make better food at home. Avoid it. The review amount and ratings (Yelp and google) really had my expectations high and I believe they were all highly wrong. I did not feel like it was authentic food like other had stated. I usually don't like leaving bad reviews but I had to be honest. Others were sloppin up there places I just didn't understand. Also my friend barely had sour cream on her food asked for more and got charged $1.75 it was like a tablespoon extra. Shouldn't cost that much extra. Smh read more

On our usual hunt for tacos, this was one of the first places that popped up in luquillo! To say this was a disappointment would be an understatement. Babe ordered Pollo a la Plancha and the chicken was boiled, it was super dry and flavorless! I ordered shrimp tacos, and as a taco connoisseur I was so disappointed my feelings were hurt.
