Pro tip: absolutely make a reservation before coming here. We booked two days in advance for a Monday night and were able to secure a slot. When we arrived, we were told our table was being cleaned. However, a group that arrived after us was seated immediately. While we were still waiting at the check-in area, another server approached and asked if we had a reservation--despite us already having checked in. After confirming (again) that we did, we were finally told our table was ready. Unfortunately, the awkwardness didn't stop there. While I took my son to the bathroom, it appeared that the same server who initially checked us in went over to my wife and said, "Hi darling, so the menu is in both English and Spanish." This comment left my wife feeling frustrated and uncomfortable, as it came across as unnecessary and condescending--as if she couldn't read or figure it out on her own. Combined with the earlier check-in experience, it made us feel less welcomed than other guests. Once seated, however, things improved significantly. I ordered the brisket, which was absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful, and truly melt-in-your-mouth. I paired it with a piña colada, which was nicely balanced and refreshing. My wife had the grilled shrimp, which she enjoyed, along with a mango margarita she really liked. Our son ordered the mac and cheese and was happy with it. Our table-side server was attentive, friendly, and offered great menu recommendations, and the food overall was excellent. Because of the uncomfortable and disappointing front-of-house interactions, I'm knocking off one star. That said, the food is outstanding, and once you're seated, the dining experience improves considerably. It's definitely a spot worth trying--but the welcome could use improvement.
As a New Yorker, it was really cool to visit a restaurant owned by Puerto Ricans from NY! The ambiance here is really beautiful; spacious and outdoorsy and makes you feel like you're at a private retreat in the mountains. The food was really great, we got the salad of the day, grilled veggies (zucchini), and chicken wins for appetizers. For entree, we ordered the pit master special which came with 5 different meats (able to sub out turkey) with potato salad, pasta salad, and coleslaw as well as cornbread. The chicken wings, ribs, brisket, and pork belly were the highlights. We also got the dessert which was similar to a bananas foster which we loved. The only things that bring the review down to 4 stars is the slow service and portion sizes. It took over an hour to just receive our entrees and for $75 we would expect more for the price.
Came for dinner and boy was I not disappointed. Started with drinks. Had a beer brewed in Santurce, a blonde, that was good. We also had the guava sangria that was delicious. Tried the Low Tide, made with Barillito rum, and Tamarind it was absolutely amazing. My wife had the Island mule that was good also. We started with the Caribbean wings that were awesome. Nice smoky flavor and bbq. It wasn't drenched in sauce and was great. The BBQ platter we had was big enough for two adults and a child or more. Kit was beautifully smoked and flavor that was intense. It came with guava ribs, pulled pork, delicious brisket, and a nice piece of cornbread. This place is not to be passed up.
Parking on your own, next door, it gets packed quickly so parking can be a hassle over dirt road. The place is outdoors but has a large area of cover, very casual. It was packed when we got here at 5pm, they opened at 4pm so we sat at the bar. Quick service: ordered drinks and chicken wings to start then had the BBQ sampler. Everything tasted delicious, smoked flavor, tender, tasty. I would definitely recommend and hope to bring back friends. As far as the Bartender/server at the bar: there were only 3 different parties actually sitting at the bar- but server only focused, spoke with one party, when we asked for drinks she did a great job making the drinks, along with providing the food before us. As a bartender myself I probably would have been much more friendly
Best BBQ I've had!!! A little out of the way, but worth it. Great ambiance! Wood vibe with string lights. You need to make a reservation otherwise you won't get a table in the dining area, however you can order at the pit master counter and grab a self service table outside. Food was so good my kids keep begging to go back (which unfortunately, we can't because they aren't open Tues or weds). We ordered the Turkey croquet app (it was just okay), pulled pork and smoked turkey (10/10!!!!), and Mac and cheese (great and big portion).
Outdoor seating, nice and cool. The smells of barbecue as you walk up are intoxicating. The menu specials are many and the Pitmaster Special is perfect for two. The beef brisket just melts in your mouth. The sausage with mustard was awesome, as well as the turkey and pulled pork. The sides (pot salad, coleslaw and coditos are so flavorful and so good. We topped it off with bananas foster with ice cream. Yes! Service here was prompt and courteous and they checked to make sure we were taken care of and the food was to our liking (of course it was!). Our driver, Manny recommended this restaurant and he really knows his town. Come out for a visit!
We loved dining at La Estacion! We were admittedly a little nervous to venture off the El Conquistador property but I'm glad we did! We started with drinks (loved the Fajardo Sunrise) and an app (riblets!) I only wish there were more meat on those bones! Flavor was great--typical bbq with maybe a touch of sweetness and blue cheese! So cool! For dinner we ordered the BBQ sampler and for me it wasn't a question. The brisket was the best with that chimichurri sauce. We added the mac n cheese, rice, and corn to our order. All were wonderful, but I enjoyed thre corn and rice the most. Finally, dessert must not be missed here. We grabbed the banana (empanada?)? Idk what it was called but it was good. Then also the bread pudding. Both were delicious and perfect for four people to share. Finally, vibe was great. Sit outside if you can. Waitstaff were all great!
First time here! We came at 6:30 which was such a nice time and its outdoors! Also make sure to make a reservation! The torches lit up at 7 which was really nice. Also there is plenty od seating and the staff were really nice. We got the bbq sampler, the chicken wings, and the elote! The bbq sampler had ribs, pulled pork, and brisket as well as two sides u can choose! It was super tender and flavorful and the my fav was the pulled pork! The street corn was also a big hit but you onky get on and its on the whole cob! There were also two cats roaming around!
my boyfriend and i came here after a long day of excursions. we had just chartered a boat out to culebra and spent the day swimming, so we were exhausted and starving. we ended up finding this place completely by accident and it was honestly one of the best meals of our trip. the wings are a must. they were so good we ordered another round to go. everything else was just as good. the pulled pork mac and cheese was super flavorful and comforting, and the pulled pork sandwich was huge and delicious. the bun with powdered sugar was such a sweet surprise and made it stand out even more. the ambiance and overall vibes were amazing. it did get pretty packed, but it was worth the wait. our waiter was really friendly and helpful, and the service overall was great. the dogs hanging around also made it feel really homey. it's a little far out for us to visit again before we leave, but i would definitely consider this a must have in puerto rico and would come back again next time, probably with a reservation.

I had lunch with family here. This used to be an old gas station converted into an outdoor restaurant. The backdrop of the native plants, birds, and low-volume music was perfect. There is an uncovered patio with seating and straw-covered umbrellas. We did not have a reservation, but were able to get seated within 10 minutes of arrival. A reservation is a must. There is an area adjacent to the restaurant that sells the food items by the pound. This is one of the more expensive places to eat on this side of the island. The smell of the smoked meat and seasonings is intoxicating, drawing you in. I had a glass of lemonade, Caribbean Chicken Wings Ceviche, and a smoked tuna dip. My main course was the grilled lobster and fries. I sampled the cole slaw, red beans, and rice. The lemonade was very watery, as if it had been poured before and was ready for guests when they ordered it, since it was served quickly. Would take a pass on this. The Caribbean Chicken Wings were delightful. It has a sweet, smoky, slightly crunchy texture, with just a pinch of spice, heat, and flavor. I enjoyed this and did not want to share with family. The smoked tuna dip was delightful, not overly creamy, and retained the tuna's texture and flavor; I wanted to order another and would have appreciated a few more wings than what was served. The Ceviche was a little underwhelming but done well. I am on the picket fence on whether pineapple helps or hurts the dish, so I would pass on this when going back. The grilled lobster was beautifully presented. The spices and grilled marks were prominent and beautiful. The spices and flowers were just amazing, and they retained the lobster flavor despite the bold seasonings. The red beans and rice were well-cooked, but had very little flavor. This was disappointing given how ubiquitous this dish is on the island and the restaurant's ability. My son had the El Matahambre: "Kill your hunger" BBQ sandwich. Pulled pork, smoked bacon, BBQ sauce, and cheddar on a local bread called Mayorca. I sampled the pork. Tender, well done, seasoned, and perfect. This is a must-stop place. Remember to set a reservation, and that this is not a cheap place to eat. I want to go back soon, and I am wondering if they would ever consider chicken beyond the appetizer. read more

Literally some of the best food we have had in Puerto Rico! You really can't go wrong here. Not only that, but everyone is super nice and they were very adapting in changing my reservation day of. Also, just a beautiful place and you can hear the coquí (a frog in PR) from the restaurant read more
Delicious bbq spot in Las Croabas. My partner and I got there pretty early so we didn't have to wait too long for a seat. We both shared pulled pork Mac and cheese and got our own brisket plate, hers with fries and mine with arroz y habichuelas. Safe to say , this place is worth the wait. read more

La Estacion is the magic of Puerto Rican flavors and American BBQ coming together! I love the way that this restaurant comes together to welcome everyone, only allowing a 14 day reservation window from the day you want to book, and keeping the other half of tables open to walk-ins. It allows more accessibility to enjoy the beautiful food! If you are visiting Fajardo, and even if you aren't you will want to, come visit the amazing people at La Estacion! They have their menu and then the specials list you must try! The riblets in a guava bbq sauce and topped with blue cheese is just everything! The sampler plate will keep you full and going back for more flavors from the pork, ribs, and brisket! Make sure to ask for their pickles and get you a side of Mac n cheese! Beautiful food and drinks to enjoy with your loved ones or even for a solo date! You can tell how much everyone here is passionate and we even got to see the owner there who was always caring for others while everyone ate. Very good food! We came here a few years ago and fell in love with their take on BBQ with a Latin fusion. I found it a bit pricey for the portions. Definitely not a lot of shareable plates unless you get the pit master option. Overall still amazing and worth a try if you are looking for something different and delicious! Ribs were well seasoned and came with a delicious guava BBQ sauce, cornbread, and crispy homemade fries. Elote was not smothered but still delicious and flavors on point. Mac and cheese was homemade and had delicious burnt ends a great combo. read more

This was our favorite restaurant in Puerto Rico so far. Our servers Gabby and Louis were so kind and very helpful with my dietary restrictions and even spoke with the chef to help give me alternatives. All of the food is locally sourced which is a plus! I got the grilled mahi mahi with rice and pinto beans. This was the best mahi mahi I've ever had. It was perfectly blackened and flakey on the inside. Open air seating but covered if needed for rain. This is a must go to if you are in Fajardo. read more

Top Tier! Needed a break from fried food and found a perfect spot! Delicious pulled pork, smoked turkey and a lovely beet salad my body was craving. Lots of cats on the property which o don't mind as a cat lover! The drinks were refreshing and priced right. Highly recommend! Don't forget to tip the most friendly wait staff. Wonderful blend of traditional American smokehouse bbq mixed with local Puerto Rican ingredients and flair. We sampled the street corn, which was excellent. We also ordered the bbq platter- plenty of food for 2! The meats were expertly cooked and had the moist and tender qualities you find in the best bbq restaurants. The cornbread is sweet, the potato salad is fresh, and the coleslaw is both familiar and uniquely Puerto Rican. I would also highly recommend the sangria- especially for those that enjoy juicy, fruity drinks! BONUS POINTS for cat lovers! There are plenty of adorable kitties that also call the patio home. read more

La Estacion is delicious! We were recommended to try out this spot and so glad we did. We didn't make a reservation and got seated quickly on a Saturday night at 8:30pm. We ordered the carribean wings for an appetizer, the beef brisket, and the grilled fish special. The wings were delicious. They came with a smoky ranch. YUM. The beef brisket rivaled brisket I've had in NY and Kansas City. It was so juicy and not too fatty. It came with coleslaw which was really good too. Not too mayo-ey and not too vinegary. The best part of the meal was the fish. I wanted a 1lb fish but they only had 1.5 lbs. it was $55 but I really wanted to try their grilled fish so I did it anyway. Wow. This was really the best fish I've ever had my entire life. It was so flaky and juicy, but the skin was so flavorful. It came with tostones and rice and beans, but the real show stopper was how good this fish was. read more

Okay so I legit forgot to take a pic of the food we ordered. The only thing is I got a shot of was my sons steak. This steak was bomb ! Gaby our waitress said it was slow cooked then seared i believe. I really don't care how it's made because it was bomb. The vibe was good, chill, and friendly! The staff was really nice and help you make good decisions. There's 2 reasons i did not give it 5. Reason: I am not 100% sure this is authentic to the island and that's what I was hoping to eat. It's bbq meets PR. It's fusion, it's Lucille's meets Puerto Rico. 2 the second reason is the one thing I was looking forward to eat they were out. read more

Food and service were excellent. First time there and the service and food were excellent. The fish dip and riblet appetizers were delicious but very tiny portion of fish dip. Had the PitMaster platter and split that with two sides of Mac n cheese and it was enough for two adults and two kids. Coleslaw was really good. Rick was an excellent server. Will be back. read more

Love this place, the Puerto Rican/ Texas BBQ fusion is to die for. It's a converted garage with traces of the garage still there. All outdoor seating but covered, The only issue was we went late and wasn't that hungry so only got apps but there sausage of the day was one of the best home made sausages I have eaten and there wings were top notch. Will go back for the pit masters platter saw several come out and looked great. read more

I went to this restaurant based on the reviews; however, the experience I had wasn't exactly pleasant food-wise. Let me start by highlighting that the service was great. No complaints about it. The main issue was that the value ratio of price/quality of the food was not worth it. We ordered the sampler which included their most famous dishes, however, the food wasn't very tasty, little seasoning, and it came to our table completely cold. The wait for the food after we placed the order was about 45 minutes. There was no sense of how could possibly the food come to our table cold. Again, I want to reiterate that the service was good, and the waiter politely apologized and offered to see if they could've done something about it. The environment of the place was nice, and, again, good service. read more

This casual spot is a hidden gem in Fajardo. An old gas station converted to a restaurant. A mix of southern comfort food with a Puerto Rican flair. Good was great. The chicken wings were excellent. The pulled pork and mac and cheese was delicious. The ribs were very tender. For dessert we ordered the special bread pudding with ice cream - excellent choice. read more
