I ordered fajitas con pollo and it came with the smallest amount of meat I've ever seen on a plate like this. The picture in my review was how it came out- that isn't with a single bite removed. Great food! Low key environment, very relaxed. We originally came in for their fried red snapper. They were out, so we went with burgers. Some of the best burgers we have ever tried! Fries were great too! Staff was incredible! Even gave me the WiFi password since we had no signal here. Very clean restaurant. The only warning I will add, the food did take a while to get to our table. But from what we saw they only had one cook. So it's understandable. Staying at El Conquistador. Beautiful resort with friendly and accommodating staff. The one major disappointment has been the food. It is quite overpriced and the food itself is not great. We stumbled upon Cafe Playero and had a great lunch and it was very reasonably priced. My Cubano sandwich was out of this world and my wife's Arepes with pork was also A +. This is a place right on the coast near our Airbnb that we decided to try. Our kids like playing at the pirate playground across the street, so we went looking for a place to eat and found this gem! We were seated right away and the menu was very accessible. The high top tables were a bit difficult for our youngest kids to maneuver (ages 7 & 8), but once they got up in the chair, they enjoyed being high up. The food took a bit of time to come out, so I took the kids across the street to play at the park while my husband waited for the food. That worked out great and is something to keep in mind if you're eating with young ones. The food itself was delicious. It's a casual place with some TVs tunes to American game shows. They have music going and large ceiling fans to keep the airflow going. All in all it was a good experience and we would go back to this place. read more

Meant to post this closer to when I went but we were in PR a couple weeks ago and we ended up walking from the El Conquistador 2 mornings in a row for a very tasty, local, and affordable breakfast. It was a really nice break from resort food. Definitely recommend the walk from the resort. It's flat, if you want from the marina and only about 1/2 a mile. Highly recommend! Great option for lunch if you're in the northeast part of the island (near the El Conquistador Resort). My wife, two teenage sons (16 yrs, 14 yrs), and I were looking for a nearby lunch spot after a morning mini-boat snorkeling tour to Cayo Icacos. Based on the Yelp reviews, we decided to visit and were glad to try it out. The cafe has mostly outdoor seating and a few tables behind the bar (which is exposed to the outside air). It has a lovely view of the Caribbean Sea in the background a kid-friendly playground. Our server (Mia) was friendly and bilingual - she put us on a waiting list, but then opened up a few tables behind the bar area. My 16 year old son enjoyed a fried red snapper and I had the fish tacos (delightful). It was surprisingly delicious and one of our better meals in Puerto Rico. My wife appreciated that the servers were kind and helpful. If you have kids, and happen to be in the Fajardo section of the island, I would recommend a visit here! read more

In the 48 hours that I was in Las Croabas, this was the worst meal I had AND the most expensive. All the food was deep fried. When I ordered the arepas rellenos with crab meat, the server told me it was king crab meat. Turned out it was imitation crab meat. I found a piece of very long hair in the empanaditos. When I brought it to the server's attention, he promptly removed the container from our table and came out with a fresh batch 15 minutes later. I wish he had given us the option of canceling it because the empanaditos were only either picadillo, cheese, and something that resembled barbecue sauce or jam... The only saving grace was the fried red snapper which was simply seasoned with salt. The side of mofongo was super dry. My partner's drink, which was overly sweetened, cost $17 for some reason. Our total was $88 (!!!). It was a huge ripoff. read more
