Been there a couple of times. Food is pretty good but service is highly lacking. Order is taken incorrectly. You must keep asking for the simple stuff like silverware on hot/mild sauces. One time we got chips the next we didn't get anything. Probably won't be back. read more

Food is amazing and prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly. Do not go late because they have a hard time keeping up with service.

I have been an enthusiastic supporter of La Jarocha, making sure to take my friends and family to the food truck, and to the restaurant since it opened. I have been at the restaurant several times this year and the service and food quality have declined drastically. Earlier this year 2 of us arrived 30 minutes before closing and were told we could not eat in, we could only order to go. We have ordered food to go 3 or 4 times this year, each time there was something wrong with the order, wrong items, items missing, or food not made according to what the menu says it should be. We brought our parents to eat a few weeks ago on a Friday about 7pm and it took an hour to get our food. I have noticed that the food has less flavor overall and the presentation has been more like a dogs breakfast, messy tacos, wet burrito etc. It has not been consistent, different ingredients each time in favorite dishes, seasonings too heavy or too light. On several occasions the front of house staff has been more engaged in talking to one another than taking care of customers or clearing tables. Last night 2 of us stopped in to eat close to 8 pm. The service wasn't stellar, but it was ok. We were brought salsa with chips glistening and dripping with oil. We should have just went somewhere else at that point. He ordered a coke which comes in a bottle and we have had many times there, and he received a fountain Pepsi. The server didn't say anything, like "we only have Pepsi is that ok?". I ordered a chicken Quesadilla, and my partner ordered Fajitas. Mine came to the table close to 5 minutes before his. I offered to share, he took one bite and decided to wait. The tortilla was oily on the outside, the cheese inside was not well melted and the chicken was over seasoned with what tasted like one of those MSG laden seasoning salts like Goya or Lowrys. I shouldn't have eaten it, but I was hungry. It kept me awake much of the night with nausea and my stomach still hurts. The Fajitas tasted like there was no seasoning at all. Once the food was served, the server didn't check to see if we needed anything. At one point she was sitting at a counter with her back to the dining room. Tables needed cleared/wiped. The dining room was not busy, there were maybe 3 tables full the whole time we were there. Notably, four customers (a local doctor with spouse and children) came in to sit down and eat after we did, they were served first and left before we were done. They also did not eat the chips and the teenagers left a lot of food on their plates. I didn't hear them talking but it looked like they were not enjoying the experience. They had to go out of their way to get the server's attention more than once. I am frustrated with taking friends and family out to eat, telling them how wonderful La Jarocha is, only to have a disappointing meal. In summary, I really want to love this place, it started out with some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. I can forgive an occasional bad night, but it has been a long time since I was really happy with the service or food. The final straw is being served food that is so poorly made it made me sick.
