On a recent cruise we had an overnight in Quebec City and were looking for something distinctly Canadian for lunch on our first day. One of the things that is uniquely Canadian is Poutine and Google Maps to us about Poutineville, so we set a course and started walking from the cruise terminal. Restaurant Poutineville Saint-Roch is about a 15 minute walk from the cruise terminal, and the weather was sunny and beautiful as we made our way there. Poutineville appears to be not much more than a storefront, but there's much more to it. We were greeted by a hostess who sat us down at a table for four. We were almost immediately greeted by our server, who thankfully spoke English fluently. We looked over the menu while he got our drink orders. There is poutine (fries, cheese curds, and gravy) and then there's Poutineville's take on poutine, many of which have an international take on the Canadian classic. In fact, fully one-half of the menu is international in nature. There is Quebec poutine, China (2 different versions), USA, and even Mexico poutine, along with others each with their own unique characteristics. There was no doubt that I was going to get the Mexican poutine. My wife had one of the Chinese versions. Between the four of us each one got a different international version. Apparently Poutiveville is known, also, for their Sangria. While none of us ordered any, I found myself thinking "I should have tried one of their Sangrias while I was there". Sadly, we never came back around. Less than 15 minutes after ordering our meals arrived. My Mexican poutine looked absolutely amazing. Each of our four meals was distinctly different, but looked very appetizing. I'm not going to lie - my Mexican poutine was amazing. There was a fair amount of "Oh, can I try that" going between our four plates. To be honest, I would have been happy with any of them, they were all so good. The décor of this location is quite welcoming. The stained wood and exposed brick is a look I've always liked. Our server was very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed and to see that everything was going well. We had apparently beaten the lunch crowd because the restaurant filled up as we were eating. There is a painting on the wall of a woman with black hair and a red top that I was completely enraptured by. Our server and a couple other employees didn't know anything about it other than it's always been on the wall. I was mesmerized by this painting. The restrooms are downstairs. You walk to the back of the restaurant, go down a flight of stairs, and down a short hallway. Our experience at Restaurant Poutineville Saint-Roch was a very tasty affair. I'm kinda bummed that I don't know that I'll ever have occasion to visit again.

Not a poutine expert by any means, but my Montrealer poutine was a soggy mess, fries were never crisp to begin with. Veggie burger was drown with mayo. On the plus side the Sangria was a great deal, adequate service and a hipster environment.

I thought Poutineville was thoroughly mediocre. Granted, I'm not the target audience as I'm not a gravy fan, so take this with a grain of salt. The restaurant wasn't too crowded on a Friday night. My friend and I got a seat right away. I ordered the Quebec mule (gin-based mule) to drink and a grilled chicken salad and the butter chicken poutine to eat. The drink was so refreshing and tasty! My salad was good. The chicken was tender and flavorful and the veggies tasted fresh. The poutine was ok. The sauce was only vaguely reminiscent of butter chicken and was too salty. Maybe I'm just not a poutine girl. Would go back again for a drink only.

A very industrial poutine restaurant. Perhaps because it was my first meal since being up at 4:30 am, then having to get to the airport, fly an hour, and by the time it is 2 pm I am starving for lunch. This did the job, baseline as it gets. The Mac N Cheese bites are an excellent starter, and this is a great spot for those just diving into poutine, an iconic Canadian dish consisting of French fries, cheese curds, and gravy. However, that is just a classic style. You can add things to it if you want, but this time I chose classic and it did not disappoint. It is a little pricey, and I felt it was slung out rather than truly cared for, which prevents it from getting another star. The food overall is tasty, but after I visited here, had no desire to return as I felt it did its job and served its purpose, like a MacGuffin in an Alfred Hitchcock film. Save the suspense and try something, enjoy and move on.

When in Canada, you gotta have poutine! This place was conveniently located right across from the hotel where we stayed. We stopped by here to grab takeout after a long day of walking around the neighborhood. All poutine items come in three different sizes, which was nice. We ordered the smoked meat poutine in regular size and customized it to swap the Swiss cheese with cheese curds. The food did not disappoint, and we stopped by again the next night for another bite. If you're looking for poutine in Quebec City, look no further.

friendly service, great for families. kids wanted to try poutine, and this was the place. we weren't adventurous enough to try the specialty and local customizations but we saw many other people eating them and regretted not trying one. the classic poutine was awesomely good and we look forward to trying others next time we're visiting. My husband enjoyed his burger and I enjoyed my chicken sandwich.

Nice place, fast seating, and good service. Ordered the Raspberry Sour (beer) and The Classic Poutine. I wouldn't say the poutine was bad but coming from Texas, I'm accustomed to a lot more flavor in my food and this was lacking. With that said, I wouldn't say it was bad and would recommend you come try it for yourself. My friend and I split the junior size and it was perfect for a taster/snack. The beer wasn't great, more bitter and not much raspberry.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, and I appreciated the friendly, quick service. The burger was quite tasty, but the bun hadn't been griddled, which created an unappealing temperature contrast when biting in.

New to this poutine thing, but figured what better place than poutineville to give it an authentic try. Service was very friendly, the food came out fairly quick and tasted wonderful. Still not sure if I'm sold on it, but did find it very filling. We ordered the fried cheese curds and they were cold in the center which was a little disappointing. The portions are based of priced servings, so you get what you pay for. Be fore warned, the mega will feed a party of 3. 8.0/10

Stopped in for a quick bite. Split the crunchy poutine and Philly cheese steak. Beers on tap or bottle. Great service. Indoor or outdoor seating. We had a very enjoyable experience and would come back again.

Poutine was awesome. No skimping on cheese curds and the fries were yum! Good gravy too! Overall great and a chain to boot! I like chunkier fries so that is a bonus for me. Also ordered their chicken fingers which were meh. The sauce was bbq and it was good. Overall go for the poutine! They had a $100 poutine weighing 15lbs with all the fixings. Good for a party!
