We first try to get seated at the restaurant patio around 3pm but the host said that we weren't allowed to have only drinks on the patio and pointed us to the "American Bar" I'm not sure why they called it that as it as there was no signage indicating that was the bars name. I think they can tell if you're a tourist right away and take pride explaining the menu. The Ham & cheese quiche with a nice fresh salad was delicious and delightful. It was lite and so flavorful and the Turkey escalope piccata with spaghetti, zucchini was a tender cutlet and the spaghetti with zucchini was fresh tasty. A delicious meal with a picturesque setting made this a delightful experience.

They gave me a bus pass for free to see more of the city which was great. The hotel is very centrally located being less than 2 minutes from the train station and bus stations and being very close to many of the major sites including museums. Just crossing over a bridge will get you to Old Town super quick, so it was really nice to be so close to everything. I had a bit of an issue around midnight with some of the other hotel guests being loud in the hallway but I gave the front desk a call and they fixed the situation immediately and made sure that if anything else was an issue to let them know and they'd fix it. Super helpful and super kind staff. All around great stay!!

The price is however 5 star. Positive, central in Lucerne and close to train station. Negatives, tiny room, uncomfortable furnishings which barely fit. Room smells of old cigarettes and or chemicals. No robes or slippers available. Ambient noise from hall and adjacent rooms. Our window was locked shut, but looked into ventilation shaft anyway. Lobby was cramped, exacerbated by Viking cruise hospitality desk. Staff were friendly enough to, and acted surprised we provided negative reviews at check out. I chose not to complain during our 2 night visit since prior similar reviews stated staff were really of no use in resolving issues. Sorry for such a negative review, but for the price I paid , I feel entitled to complain.

The rooms I paid for were for family rooms and even if she wanted to give us regular rooms she should have asked first and not charge me 2 family rooms.
