Adorable, authentic German restaurant in Wiesbaden. Always a good idea to have a reservation, especially if you are a larger party, or you want a specific table.
My girlfriend and I had just arrived in from overseas this morning, so we were jet-lagged. We had afternoon massages, then were interested in having an early dinner this evening, we were seated promptly at 4:30 when they opened. We were offered our choice of seating either inside or out.
We picked inside, next to the beautiful stained glass windows. We had a nice view of the the patio area as well as the people passing by. We were invited to stay and relax, but informed our table was reserved at 6:30.
My friend and I both ordered sparking water.
She started with a side salad, then had the champignon schnitzel with fries.
I had the main salad served with mushrooms and olives and a side of fries.
Our food was ok- but our server never came back to check on us, my friend would have like some lemon slices for her meal had we had someone check on us.
At about 6:15 we approached the bar asking to pay- knowing they needed the table ready for their 6:30 reservation.
We have several friends who rave about this place. They normally order the Jagerschnitzel or Wiener schnitzel.
We had chosen to eat inside thinking there might be bugs outside. We found there were tiny gnats that were flying around inside as well. We had to keep our water glasses covered to keep them from landing in our drinks. read more
