We are staying at this hotel and it's very nice. The second time we have eaten here and the food is excellent. The service speed is so horrible that I can't possibly recommend it. Think this is unacceptable and add 30 minutes. Then think the only way to pay is to leave and see if they chase you. This time we brought books. We came here for a late lunch and wanted something off the dinner menu. The waiter was polite and asked the chef. The chef said it was ok. So we had the grilled fish--cod. It came with potatoes and vegetables. We got prompt service and the food came out quickly. We had no complaints. The food was delicious. The service was good. After having no luck at the old Swiss house on Christmas Day, we stumbled upon this small restaurant for our first Swiss food experience. We ordered the traditional dishes and didn't enjoy it much. The pastry puff veal dish was too dense and the pastry dough was too sweet for us for a savory dish and the sausage for the other dish tasted bland. I think we just didn't have the taste buds for it, they could be a very delicious meal for someone else. read more

After visiting a church nearby, my family and I wanted to grab a quick bite. This restaurant is located within a hotel. It was clean, had a nice ambience, and service was great. The menu wasn't insanely pricey, and the food was definitely worth it. I ordered the gnocchi and corn chowder. Both of these dishes were tasty, and filling. When we chose this hotel, we didn't realize that we'd have this gem just downstairs. Normally, I wouldn't go to the same restaurant twice in one trip but we liked it so much that we went two nights in a row! Some dishes were a bit too salty, but overall the service was excellent and the food an incredible taste of Swiss cuisine. The first night, I had the veal in puff pastry - unlike anything I've ever tasted in my life and completely delicious. We also enjoyed the spaghetti with chanterelles - also wonderful. The next night, I had the meatloaf, my mom had the spätzle, and my dad had the Zurich style veal. We cleared all our plates and still had room for some of the homemade chocolate cake. We could not be more pleased with the quality food and experience at this restaurant, a staple of our Switzerland vacation. read more

After spending the day walking around Luzern, we turned to Yelp to decide where to eat while here on vacation. We wanted traditional Swiss food and had a wonderful meal here. The staff greeted us in English and helped with several questions. The Parsnip Soup was very good. The restaurant at Hotel Rebstock is absolutely fantastic. Seriously, the best meal I had in Switzerland. The environment is warm and cozy. The service is extremely attentive and kind. The bar has a fun and friendly feel to it. A farm to table culinary experience not to be missed. They have two menus, one is seasonal and the second carries more standard fare. I ordered off the seasonal menu and had housemade venison sausage, spatzel, and cabbage with a rich onion sauce. It was just amazing. The beer was local and absolutely fantastic. The Swiss coffee is a delicious way to end a meal. If you are in Lucerne, you must try this place! read more

This place was off the beaten path away from the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurants in old town. The atmosphere was nice and we ate outside under umbrellas. The waitress was very attentive and all our food was delicious. I had the Luzern special a puff pastry with mushrooms and veal with a delicious cream sauce with a side salad. My wife had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes with a sauce more delicious than your common brown gravy. My children had chicken nuggets and French fries but they were high quality chicken nuggets at least and the French fries were perfect. Yes I had some of my child's food. What she was finished! Wonderful first evening in Europe! Began under the trees in the courtyard, but got sent inside by rain. The cheese pie was totally amazing, and I am NOT a quiche lover. And the desserts! . . . It did take us quite a while to order dessert and get a bill, but that's because they were perfectly happy to have us enjoy our meal as long as we liked. And the cut paper "pictures" on the wall were amazing. Our last day in Luzern we wanted a casual sit-and-eat near the lace store, and plopped at one of the outside tables. My fiancee and I had two great meals here during our recent trip to Lucerne. It's in a touristy area, but is far enough away that the restaurant isn't overly crowded or overrun by visitors. The service is a little slow, but I didn't mind since I was on vacation. It was a perfect place to sit outside and admire the medieval church next door. The food was great. From setting up the reservation, thoughtful seating assignment, and recommendations of food... this place was spectacular. Igor was heading the crew on the evening we visited. The beetroot and apple salad was shared, presented on 2 plates, beautifully presented, and delicious. My wife loves calve's liver and says she had never had any as good anywhere. Then when we asked after waiting over 30 minutes for our mediocre food she promptly blamed the miscue on the waiter that left even though we sat with empty drink glasses for over 30 minutes.
