Honestly, I have been wanting to come here for a few years! Was it worth the wait - yes! The restaurant was clean with a classic Italian restaurant look. First up on the menu is the table side prepared Caesar salad. We opted for the "large" portion with shrimp. The dressing phenomenal & shrimp prepared perfectly. Our only wish was they had @ least 3 more pieces of romaine lettuce. The served bread with a fresh ground olive spread. Spread tasted good but the bread gave store bought vibes. For our main entrees we ordered: BEEF WELLINGTON - was prepared well. Meat tender encased in puff pastry. LAMB CHOPS juicy & tender! Peppery brown gravy & mint chimichurri jelly on the side. Both came with sides of blanched veggies & crispy baby potatoes. For dessert we got flan. The flan was a great ending. It was creamy & smooth almost like a cross between flan & crème brûlée. We were so happy to have had the opportunity to dine @ such a historical location!
What a treat. Long time friends brought me here. The home of the Caesar salad. It was great! Also ordered the bone marrow and the tuna tar tar. And of course margaritas! They make the salad at your table. They got our drink order a little wrong but corrected it. My friend didn't love the tuna. It was a bit on the sweet side. Probably just used to the US version. Beautiful presentation. Very professional staff. Beautiful traditional restaurant.
The food is Awsome and price was great, but my waiter sucks! Short and of bald head short Waiter. I always have to ask for water refilled. The Resturant wasn't even busy at all around 4pm. The staffs was all talking stories amongst themselves! They just walk by my table and see the empty glass and don't even filled it until I asked. When I got the bills, the waiter told me we charge a 25% service charge here. I'm thinking, " What service??!" I didn't say anything and just pay the 25% service charged. Once again, the food was amazing, but their waiter is too arrogant!
El mejor lugar de Tijuana!!! Me encanta venir por mi ensalada y mis tuétanos. Las pastas están muy deliciosas, y el tartare me encanta. Service is always lovely and fast, with everything perfect. It's a very quiet restaurant but it's beautiful with a lot to see. Make sure you try this place out! It's a must!!
FUN FACT: Caesar salad was invented here in TJ! I was shook when I learned that -- and also very excited because Caesar's Restaurant is just a short drive across the border. The restaurant is located on Revolución, so there's plenty to walk around and explore, plus lots of paid, secured parking nearby. We went during lunch for drinks and, of course, a Caesar salad. I love the whole idea of a tableside Caesar -- food and a show, honestly. The staff was friendly, and we ordered a mojito and a mezcal cocktail, both excellent. We got the large tableside Caesar, which is perfect for two people. The host came over, explained all the ingredients, mixed everything right in front of us, and served it up. It was great. I prefer a creamier Caesar where the anchovies are mixed in rather than left whole -- and that's exactly the style they make here. Definitely stop by, and I'd love to come back for a full meal next time we're in Tijuana.
This place was on my bucket list for quite some time and I finally had a chance to go. I ordered a mojito and it was just perfect. As for the famous Caesar salad, it was good but to be honest the one I had in Puerto Penasco, Mexico taste it better in my opinion. But still this place is an icon and it was a good experience. For an appetizer we ordered, beef carpaccio and it was pretty good. I also ordered carbonara but it was nothing like the carbonara that I know. It was more like alfredo and I was disappointed.
This place is an institution, a must if you are in the area. The place is known for their classic Caesar salad which was inspired here, by a guy named Caesar, during the heyday of America's prohibition. This original version is fantastic, very tasty. It's made table side so it's fresh. The rest of the items we tried were very good but the star of the show is that salad. Go for the experience, the history and the great food.
The best Caesar Salad you will ever have is here. They invented it. They serve it table side with the freshest ingredients. If you like a great salad, this is a must for you. The place itself is super pretty and very clean and comfortable. It is not cheap, but it is fairly priced. I put this in the fine dinning category. The service is perfect. Everyone is so very nice. You will be happy here. They have some of the best Italian pastas I have ever had. We love their PENNE A LA ARRABIATA and their FETUCCINNI CARBONARA. You might think you are in Italy. It is just so good. Their fish dishes are also great. We love the RISOTTO DE MARISCOS and their SALMÓN WELLINGTON. You just can't go wrong with anything you order. Their desserts are the bomb. They have a great corn cake and a wonderful chocolate mousse. At least one is a must. Have the best time.
Cesars Salad show, I love it, makes me feel fancy and Thank You Staff for that special touch to our table. Ordered, beef fillet adobada style with a tiny mound of pineapple salsa taco ,honestly, street venders have better tacos and salsa . The seafood risotto with 2 clams 1 shrimp was a little too fishy and dry,not creamy enough for me. Fettuccine was OK. cauliflower tacos couldn't tell you how they tasted, as I was given someone's dry carnita or duck taco order. Drinks were strong,tacos are better outside. However , I do reccomend you come have the salad . 3ribs is considered a small, a 5rib is considered a large.
After my friends finished their dental appointment and haircuts, we were ready to fill up our bellies with great food. Before I learned about its history, I grew up thinking the Caesar salad originated in Rome, Italy and named after Julius Caesar but the only thing Italian about it is the birthplace of its creator Cesare Cardini. And since reading about this fact, it became a bucket list item to eat the original Caesar's salad in the restaurant that first made it back in 1924. Today, we get to indulge in the experience of its table side preparation - a small production to behold with the 'salad maestro' placing each ingredient into the massive wooden bowl one by one, mixed fully and incorporating it onto the crunchy fresh Romaine lettuce then topped with generous grated Parmigiano Reggiano and toasted slices of bread. It's simple enough that anyone can do this at home and ask the question "why would you even choose store-bought dressing loaded with gums, corn syrup and chemicals. The first bite of the salad was worth the drive to San Ysidro, parking near the border, crossing over and taking an Uber to this well-known restaurant. Because my two friends just had some dental work done, they each ordered soup. One Classic French Onion soup and Tortilla soup. We shared an order of Gambas al Ajillo and I opted for the Spaghetti Al Pesto. I got to taste their soups as well and I shared half my pasta with them. Our waiters all spoke English and readily topped our glasses of water and accommodated our small requests like soda, olive oil and extra slices of bread. Only praises for the service! They were fully staffed! Compared to other guests during this lunch hour, we were underdressed in what is considerered the classiest restaurant in Tijuana according to San Diego Reader (2017) and we are not even in rugged clothing. I would definitely return here and bring my special date for a romantic evening of culinary delights and drinks.
I used to love coming to Caesar this time it was very disappointing. My sister salad is always very good, but I got the duck La'orange which is my favorite staple but unfortunately, it came out dry and overcut had to send it back and then by the time I seen the bag of room we ordered anything because we were already eating the pasta which was a very good . Experienced their iconic service was OK and ambience is always fun. Not sure if I'll go back anytime soon but definitely go for the Caesar salad.
May I make a suggestion? Do NOT order a steak. Caesar's is NOT the place for steak. Case in point, I ordered a rib eye, one of their most expensive cuts of red meat. Ribeye is a cut of steak known to be 1-1.5 inches thick. So when I saw my plate I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. The "steak" wasn't even a 1/2 inch thick. Normally, I would send a plate like this back, but I honestly did not think it would get any better. They did however nail my medium rare request Yes, their Caesar's salad is one of the best I have ever had. Yes, they mix nice at the table side with raw egg yolk, anchovy and fresh black pepper. Yes the food server was excellent. Yes the establishment has ambience. In fact, Caesar's has one of the best decors in Tijuana. Even the ladies room was one of the neatest/cleanest I've seen in the city. Now, if we could only fix the steak I might come back.
Beyond my expectations for fine dining in Tijuana. Close to the Emporium, my favorite shop for silver and copper jewelry. Creator of the famous Caesar salad. If you order a large they will prepare the salad in front of you. Watching our server at work- marvelous and the homemade dressing from start to finish, freshest taste ever. The croutons were large pieces of perfectly sliced crispy heavenly toasted bread. The marrow was sawed into 4 chunks of bone, impressively plated and arrived with 3 saucers of different flavors: spicy, beefy like gravy and simple salt. The escargot were luscious morsels in garlicky butter and perhaps parsley. Doc's octopus to share was tender and good. The calamari had the most delicate batter fried to perfection, not oily just delectable. Doc also had tacos in an Italian restaurant. Very swoon worthy, ritzy with servers dressed to the nines, dark wood, cloth napkins, photos of celebrities like Laurel and Hardy on the wall. Loved our midda meal here. I'd return here in a heart beat.

Service here was excellent and food was great. This is home to the creation of the ceasar salad so had to try that. I would say it's as good as any other places that I've had like Golden Steer in Vegas or House of Prime Ribs in SF. I can skip on this. What you must order is the bone marrow on sopes! That was delicious and one of the best bone marrow I've had. The ambiance was elegant. read more
First time trying this restaurant and of course the Caesar salad is a must! Absolutely delicious. Definitely get the table side presentation for first timers. The restaurant is very classy and has a lot of history to it. Order the duck with mashed potatoes and spaghetti bolognese. The server was very kind and helpful. Will be be back ! read more

I was told this restaurant was the OG place where the Cesar Salad was invented. Nice restaurant I see why it's considered an icon! Very nice and busy. Place is considered high end so practice your best habits before you go! Restaurants have low music which is nice to have a proper conversation. read more
My first time here but had to try it out. My brother took me here since he kept raving over the food and I have to agree, it was amazing. Did you know this restaurant is known for being the first to create the Caesar Salad? It was named after the chef, Caesar, who immigrated from Italy! We had the following: - table side caesar salad - bone marrow - chicken tortilla soup - beef wellington I enjoyed the table side service for the salad. They make the dressing, toss in the romaine, and there we have it! It was pretty good, but next time I will just get the smaller plate. The Bone marrow was mouth watering! I would order that again. Beef wellington was the perfect size and cooked very nicely. Overall the cost was about $80 USD for two people. We also has some drinks! Definitely check it out! read more

Yes--get the Caesar Salad! It was literally invented at this hotel restaurant. They mix up the Caesar dressing right there at your table. Service is very professional and attentive. And I love the Roaring 20s vintage interior decor. Cozy, soft warm lighting. Lively place, but not chaotic. Pasta came out HOT and flavorful (impressive cause pasta cools down fast). They preheat the dishes so your food stays hot longer. Walking street right out front in the only charming part of Tijuana. This restaurant is like a time capsule. read more

Service is fantastic. Very attentive and well presented. The Caesar Salad and the Birthday Flan are the standouts here. Have tried most menu items and will always order the Caesar Salad on every occasion. We met one of the family owners and he could not have been more kind and accommodating. Beautiful and historic vintage decor. A classy place in Tijuana and the only reason I always find to dine there with guests. read more
We walked in yesterday around 3:30 and were seated right away. Our server was super quick, informative, and funny. We both agreed that it was the best Caesar salad we have EVER had. We also got the cafe martinis (espresso martini) and they were great. We will definitely be returning during our next visit. read more

We recently visited Caesar's Restaurant after about 10 years. The atmosphere and service were enjoyable, and Arturo was professional and kind, but the food wasn't as good as we remembered. The Caesar salad, made tableside, was the highlight: fresh and delicious. The mango margaritas were also excellent. The steak was just okay, a bit tough, and the Ate con Queso dessert was good but not special. The port wine was disappointing and didn't pair well. Overall, we had a pleasant experience, but the food didn't quite live up to our memories. read more

Since this was an actual Jeopardy question, you need to come here and try the Caesar salad for yourself which I thought was pretty tasty. It's obviously in the dressing since romaine lettuce tastes the same everywhere. There was just a different/better tanginess to the dressing here. And, they are very light on the croutons. Your waiter will make the salad table side and while they have entrees, we opted to get many appetizers so we can go back out to Avenue Revolution to eat more food. Check out my pics! read more

I live in California, and when I found out that the Caesar salad was invented here in Tijuana, I made a special trip just to try it at the original place. I left my car at the border, crossed on foot, and came straight to Restaurante Caesar's for this experience. I ordered the classic Caesar salad with anchovies, and it was absolutely outstanding. What made it even better was that the salad was prepared right in front of me. I could watch them add the ingredients and mix everything tableside, which made the whole experience feel authentic and special. The flavor, freshness, and the dressing were perfect. The service was excellent and the atmosphere of this historic restaurant made it even more memorable. I was extremely satisfied and would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try the real original Caesar salad. read more

We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table as we were walkins. We were greeted nicely and our server was excellent. Of course the Ceasar Salad was superb. The bone marrow was a ten out of ten. The escargot was just ok. Kinda small but they were good. The milenasea was great and the salmon was a bit dry but very tasty. All in all a nice night. read more
Best Caesar Salad: Prepared right front of you with all the key ingredients; egg yolk, anchovies, olive oil, etc. Service staff always checking and making sure our food was delivered and we had what we needed to dine comfortably. It's very classic decor, clean and comfortable. read more
Looking for a place to eat we found Tijuana Caesar's restaurant. We were seated immediately and our waiter took our drink order. After we received our drink order, we placed our order for food and got the table side Caesar salad, which apparently this restaurant is famous for. The food was good and so were the drinks. The restaurant is decorated nicely with old pics of past patrons and such. Overall a nice experience read more

Caesar's in Tijuana is worth visiting for the history alone, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The original Caesar salad lives up to its reputation--easily the best part of the meal. The rest was mixed: * Penne Arrabbiata had decent flavor but was a bit dry. * Salmon Meunière was good, though the mashed potatoes were dry. * Pescado Fiorentina was very good and the standout among the mains. The full bar is great, but the wine selection is limited. A memorable stop with some highs and a few misses. read more

We came here with a group of 13 and had 6 items: Food: Caesar Salad - Table side 5stars, I can eat 10 leaves! Love this salad. Octopus Spicy: 3 - Very tender but to salty Escargot: 5 - one of my favorites Salmon Carpaccio: 5 - it's like lox with the fixing, except not bagel. Classy-looking but not pretentious. I like the old-timey, classic look. I thought it was going to be uppity but I was pleasantly surprised that it's pretty relaxed inside. The wait staff were friendly and tried their best to explain things in a mix of some English and hand gestures. I got the legendary Caesar's salad and it's made and served table side. It's quite a performance. I certainly enjoyed watching it. But more than that, it's also the best Caesar's salad I've ever had. I also ordered the beef wellington, which can only be made medium-well or well done. I usually like my steak rare, so I chose the better option of medium well. Sorely disappointed of how it came out though; it looked and tasted well-done. But I didn't want to make a fuss about it and just ate it with disappointment.
