This was the third time that I have dined at La Casa Colorada as part of a large group and once again, I had a great experience.
The historic city of Guanajuato, Mexico is located in the geographic center of the country and is one of the most interesting and picturesque cities in all of Mexico. It was the the site of the first battle of the Mexican War of Independence and was known for it's rich silver mines during Mexico's colonial era.
It is a city built into a narrow valley with a rich pallet of colorful homes and small winding alleyways. There is no better place to view this city than from the terrace of La Casa Colorada with a cold cervesa in hand...and that is exactly what our group did prior to an excellent dinner in this unique boutique restaurant/hotel perched above the city below.
Our group sampled several of their signature dishes including an outstanding Ribeye, a winning filet mignon and a fresh tuna steak cooked to perfection. All the offerings were excellent coupled with some fine wine.
Colorada once again provided an outstanding dining experience in a magnificent setting. read more
