Chips and salsa for the table

Seafood was fresh and service was great. We were seated immediately after walking by it after our Luche Libre experience. We sat outside which allowed us to people watch but the ambiance inside was cozy, very cute and highly decorated. It was pricy due to the seafood items which is to be expected. Most of our ordered dishes were delicious but others like the octopus taco were ok. See photos for what we ordered.

This the BEST PLACE FOR SUSHI AND HIBACHI in Columbia and the Manager is awesome and her staff is very efficient in your preparation of your ordering through DOOR DASH or TAKE OUT!

Looks like a sad clown but is DELICIOUS salted cod

Check in on yelp and get a free drink! Beyond that, the food is so good. I had the salted cod dish, and although it looks like a strange clown, it was so delicious. The serving size was huge and there was no way I could eat all of it, especially after we got a risotto dish as an appetizer. The service is attentive and pleasant and the food is exceptional. Definitely consider stopping here for dinner. My sister had the best octopus she has ever had here. There is not a lot of choices for a picky child eater, so just keep that in mind.

Decent food but some things were left wanting. Service was ok. We had the bolinhas which were solid but nothing amazing. The cataplanas was great flavour however the rice and potatoes that it came with were room temperature and the potatoes were frozen. Dessert was a Portuguese tart which was solid.

Table setting is nice and inviting.

Wasn't sure if I had picked the right place when we walked in -- we were the only ones there. But this place was an absolute hole-in-the-wall gem! (And it did fill up more throughout our meal :) The clams were superb, and the grilled octopus with sweet potatoes was excellent. The service was quick and the atmosphere was very nice, although there was no outdoor seating. Would highly recommend to anyone in Lisbon and am so glad we chose Farol for our only night here!

Foods are delicious, Staff is really nice, I was lucky to grab a dinner at here. Here was first Portuguese restaurant in Portugal! Thank you for good memory!

If I could give seven stars, I would do so for this restaurant. We ordered our favourite, cataplana, and it was phenomenal. The seafood was fresh, and the broth was to die for. We also ordered a range of starters, which were all very flavourful. Last but not least, their olives and olive oil were spot on -- you know you're at a proper restaurant when they have your mouth watering at olives already! Service was excellent. Our waiter was kind and prompt, and he even brought us small free glasses of port wine for dessert! Ambience is cozy and neighbourhood-like. So glad my Airbnb was atop the same building -- it's truly become our go-to! We booked reservations already to return in two days time :)

Farol de Santa Luiza is located near the Sè (Cathedral), overlooking one of the terraces from where you can have a look at the old Lisbon. The restaurant is nice, serves Portugese food, staff was very helpful even though they were overly "nice" (saying "thank you" for almost anything that we told/asked them). Food was ok I guess, we have had better meals elsewhere in Portugal, but mind you, it's a premium spot for tourists so I guess that this has to be taken into account, as maybe the dishes are not done "exactly" as traditions would impose. Still it was a nice meal, a bit pricey but nice!

    Vino verde for dinner.

Very nice restaurant. Quaint, quiet and romantic. Service was really good and the food was delicious.

Food was average. Risotto lacked flavor and shrimp were over cooked. Wasn't bad but wouldn't recommend.

We were so glad we went, it was an outstanding meal. The restaurant is not large and mainly has seating for 2. Other reviews complained about waits, but it would be worth it. We ate early and were lucky to arrive when another couple was leaving. Service was quick and very friendly--and like many places here they spoke good English. They do not have a wide drink list, but we had a bottle of the house wine that was really good and complemented food perfectly. For appetizers, we had bread basket, miss cheese, and the caprese. Get the bread basket if you get either. I had not heard of that cheese but it was great, semi-soft with a nice flavor. The caprese salad was nice also, fresh tomato's and mint as opposed to basil. For the main course, I had the seafood paella that was served in a hot pan right from the stove. This was excellent with rich saffron flavor and a nice mix is seafood--the calamari and mussels were particularly good. I loved it. With the said, my wife's sea bass might have been better. The whole fish was served, nice and fresh. It was cooked and flavored absolutely perfectly. The skin was crisp while the fish was moist and just melted in your mouth. Completely wonderful. It came with potatoes and some steamed vegetables, a superb dish. Definitely worth a visit!

Once admitted we were seated immediately as the restaurant was only about half full. The menu was quite simple with just half a dozen appetizers and their main dish, seafood rice served for 1 or 2 people. The rice took about half an hour to prepare. It was delivered still bubbling a bit. The red tomato based soup was full of rice, mussels (some in the half shell), whole shrimp and not quite half a crab. The restaurant provided a shell cracker but the tiny forks for removing the crab meat from the leg would've been quite helpful. The rich tomato soup was the best seafood rice from our trip. We were also given a bottle of piri piri sauce and used about 4-5 drops at a time to add a little bit of heat and flavors to the seafood rice.

(FYI: lots of tourists) They only have 1 main which is their signature dish, the seafood rice. The rice is cooked in a seafood broth with a good mixture of shellfish like mussels, crab and shrimp. You can add lobster at an extra charge. This dish reminds me of paella, but with more soup? We didn't really get any appetizers but they do have a small selection if you want to add more to your meal. We had 3 people and ordered one main for the table. My husband is not the biggest seafood person so it was enough but if you have big eaters, then consider getting apps. The place is kinda small and cozy but not overly crammed together. The staff was efficient and warned me ahead of time how long it would take to make the dish.

We wanted Portugese food at a "nice, semi-formal sit down place". Gambrinus looked to tick all the marks - we walked there and found the place quickly - very charming storefront. You walk in past the bar room which is very quaint and semi-supperclub formal. We got to the maî·tre and were seated in the very charming formal dining room. There is a reserved elegance of this place that makes it feel as if it's been there for 50 or 100 years - wonderful classic decor. The staff are all in formal attire - striking all the vibes of a late 1950's American SupperClub in Portugal. And to our glee - this is indeed what this place is! We were served our starter drinks while we reviewed the menu options; our "formal, main waiter" who is in the most formal attire walked us patiently through the options (we are new to Portugese food) and he made a number of excellent suggestions. Our starter course arrived, shrimp flambe, which was made table side and served - hinted at what was to come. We were amazed at the showmanship of the staff - very formal but friendly and in a way comical. As we awaited the mains, a table near us ordered something also flambe'd crêpes. But it was the SHOW that was special. They brought out the cooking stuff, and the waiter arrived and put on a literal magic show - acting like he had the fire in his hands - he would release the flames into the crêpes and then capture them back in his hand and the flames were gone. The table that ordered them were delighed, and we also enjoyed the show. Our main order did not disappont and hit all the marks. We had an after dinner desert and drinks, then a coffee. The price is not inexpensive; the food and entertainment makes this place five stars. If you are in Lisbon and want to have a "formal" feeling dinner that is classic and entertaining - go here for sure. It's delightful, fun, and worth every penny!

We ate a little earlier at seven. However Judging by the amount of people waiting in line the closer you get to 8 o'clock prime time for dinner, the longer the wait. As we were visiting in the beginning of summer, the covered alfresco dining outside was the way to go, a very comfortable evening. A reservation is a must!! Highly recommended!
