Veal chop, fries, rice, beans
Tom R.

For our first meail in Lagos, my wife and I walked in to Onda Morte without having a reservation. While it was not crowded when we arrived around 7:30pm, we noticed a lot of tables had "reserved" signs on them. The place quickly filled up, so I'd recommend making a reservation. The wait staff spoke english well, but as full as the place was it seemed like they could have used another waiter or two. They have a great selection of wine and some beers on tap, which was nice. The food here was great! I got the veal- the largest veal chop I've ever seen in my life. It was great, along with all of the sides. My wife got the salt cod, which was amazing. The best part about it was the price, it was so cheap! I couldn't believe we got that great quality food for so little. All in all a very great meal, I would definitely go back next time we are in Lagos.

This place was a disorganized mess. Maybe due to Good Friday holiday but what a mess. Don't go.

Amazing fresh seafood food by the ocean, what else can I ask for? We got the fresh sardines, clams,…read moresalmon, and sea bass. We loved everything including the dessert and coffee. The staff was extra nice and helped us money exchange situation.

A casual restaurant for no-frills Portugese food. My friend and I had some amazing meals while in…read moreLagos, and unfortunately this just was not on par with the seafood we experienced elsewhere. Lota is good for groups and families, wielding picnic style benches, quick service, and affordable prices. But make sure to bring cash! We couldn't believe our eyes at some of the prices (pâté for only 0,6€?? squid for 11,50€??), but quickly learned that this was because the pâté came in a little peel-pack, and the sangria tasted like artificial strawberry juice. However, spend wisely and you will get full. The fish is mostly grilled, with minimal marination or fuss but it does taste pretty fresh. We were brought boiled potatoes and salad to accompany our meal which was a nice balance to the meal. Everything came out pretty quickly and it seemed like the vibe was to get diners in and out just as efficiently. No one was rude per se, but the staff very clearly were just waiting for their shift to be over so they could close up. Despite how convenient this eatery is, it probably wouldn't be on my places to return to when I'm back in Lagos.
