I am looking for a place for extended HBOT therapy. There were two deaths last year (one in MI and…read moreone in AZ). As a result, patients are being advised to make sure a facility is safe and personnel are trained and certified. When I asked about safety, machine maintenance, and staff qualifications, Cheryl was defensive and hung up on me. HBOT can be great but is also a dangerous medical treatment with risks. There are NO medical personnel, no one certified in HBOT care at this facility. She said, "we fly under the radar". I was really freaked out by her demeanor and defensiveness.

They have a variety of activities from AI massage to hyperbaric oxygen chambers to contrast therapy suites. If it all seems a little confusing, just ask for a tour and they will show you around and explain everything. I particularly enjoy the AI massage, which--yes--is done by a robot. But it's actually not weird! They have you change into these special Aescape suits that are comfortable and fairly skin tight, so as not to bunch up under the robot therapist's rollers/hands. It does a body scan, which I want sure what the function was at first but today, my right ankle wasn't in place on the bolster and the body scan asked me to put it there. So it works! There are a variety of massage modes and today I did a relaxation one that was focused on the upper body. You can customize EVERYTHING--way more than at even an upscale spa--like the headrest height and depth, position of the bolster, and more, all by just tapping on the screen that is under the headrest. This is really a lovely place and I'm sad that I won't be visiting more often since I'm moving out of Boston tomorrow! But Remedy Place is a great concept and I hope it stays around for a long time. I will be contacting the medical licensing board about these 2 workers and also because they refused to treat me because of a problem I was having with an unna boot which my skin was having a painful reaction to.
