He said cataract surgery would likely not solve my problem but never explained what my problem was that couldn't be corrected by the cataract surgery. I was surprised by this decision so probably not able to ask the right questions but he was in a hurry and rather abrupt. Then he wrote in the notes that he had a long conversation with me and I decided against cataract surgery. The woman who saw me before him was very helpful but he was not. It is very poor care to not see an ophthalmologist before cataract surgery and let an optometrist make the decision about whether you would benefit. Then if you did have cataract surgery the surgeon would not have looked at your eyes him/her self. I am getting a referral to an ophthalmologist.

I grew suspicious when the prices they gave…read moreme were going up every time I talked to them and their promises of what my eyesight was going to be like was a lie. They're great at handing out false hope. I was quoted $2,500 per eye and that went to $2700. per eye and then there was the co-pays and the facility use fee by the time it was done I was looking at around $8,000 for something they couldn't do. I consulted a local doctor who had done my late husband's cataract surgery and he explained that there was a certain amount of correction that comes from having cataract removal but those lenses don't work the way they promised for someone like me. When I canceled they suddenly became very rude said they would cancel with Dr Huggett and hung up, I have had no contact with Dr Huggett or his office staff since the appointments were canceled. He will not talk to me and his staff hangs up on me. The reason I am throwing Dr Huggett into the fire is because he told me that I had cataracts as dense as a glass of milk and that I needed to get cataract surgery right away because the longer I waited the more likely I was to lose sight completely apart from maybe shadows. Dr Huggett knew I was a Medicare patient and still referred me to PCLI at which time PCLI would have known I was a Medicare patient. But I was told they were the best, that I would have 20/20 vision and I wanted that. I'm close to 70 and I wanted to see like I used to. Where they thought I was going to get around $8,000 to pay for what they were offering I don't know. A payment plan would have left me in debt with interest. I would not recommend PCLI to anyone nor would I recommend Dr Huggett to anyone. Since I canceled with PCLI Dr Huggett has refused to talk to me or to see me in any capacity and I have learned that he is a close associate with PCLI. My personal opinion is they are out to take the last penny anyone's got for false hope. Take from that what you will.

He basically dismissed me after I told him my profession. I asked about eye plugs after surgery and he wouldn't tell what they were, or why or why not one would need them. He just said "you don't need to hear about that". I didn't feel comfortable at all. I wound up using a different office for my surgery where they answered all my questions and more!

Providing another update as I had another Lasik surgery to correct the remaining prescription I had…read morein both eyes after my first surgery. I waited the minimum 3 months to see how things would heal, then waited an additional 3 to see if things progressed. The latter portion was partly my decision and my scheduling challenges, but the touch-up surgery was worth waiting for. They say that this can be a common thing for about 1 in 10 patients. While going through this again 6 months after my initial surgery wasn't the idea I had going in, it was even easier than the first surgery, plus it didn't cost me a cent. I had my full vision almost immediately following and now have better than perfect vision. Had some of the same team treat me this second time around, including Dr. Madsen, but again everyone was really comforting and helpful. I love not wearing contacts or worrying about driving at night! on Feb 19, 2025, I was with my daughter when she needed to go to the ER…read more First of all the time it took from the triage to actually have a meeting with a doctor was completely unacceptable. Arrived at 4:30pm-10:45pm, over 6 hours from the beginning to end. Yes is was fairly busy but I didn't think all that busy. Secondly, the restroom and the examination room were dirty, I mean gross. The underside of the toilet seat needed cleaned and the floor needed mopped. Worst of all, after the waiting and getting to the exam room, there was what we thought was fecal matter on the control panel of the bed. I cleaned the matter up using rubber gloves and wipes that were on the exam room. I am so happy I have different and better health ins.

Days to resolve a broken toe…read more My husband fell down the stairs in our home with our toddler. This happened on a Sunday. I was pretty sure he broke it, but he decided to wait until Monday morning to call the doctor to schedule an appointment. Monday morning rolls around and he makes the call at 8am. Dr. Goswami, not his usual general practitioner, saw him that same day. Great! She orders him to get an Xray done. After the Xray, we wait for her assistant to give us the results that it was, in fact, a broken toe at the joint area. My husband has been in a lot of pain hobbling around, so it was nice to hear that we would get this resolved immediately. We were told he would get a call from a referred orthopedic and someone would drop off a boot at our home for him to wear (at 10am Tuesday). Tuesday rolls around. We've been waiting the rest of the day Monday and Tuesday morning to get a call from this orthopedic. No call. My husband calls in to check up on the status and the assistant tells us that Dr. Goswami called in to the wrong referred orthopedic. The orthopedic was for a broken knee/hip when my husband needs one for his foot. So, essentially we could've waited forever if we didn't call in because it was the wrong doctor. My husband ended up spending 2 hours out of his work day to find the right orthopedic to call covered under our health insurance. 2 hours. That's 2 hours of figuring out who to talk to, talking on the phone, and then leaving a voicemail with that orthopedic. Meanwhile, at 10am, the lady comes to our home and has two types of prescribed boots/shoes. BOTH are wrong. They're for a broken ankle. One shoe my husband tried on has his toes exposed! So much for this immediate service. We're at the step of now going to the correct orthopedic on Wednesday morning and approaching day 3 of his injury/healing process. When someone has a fracture, it shouldn't take days to resolve. We're hoping the doctor doesn't have to re-break his toe to set it correctly on the 3rd day. We find it difficult to trust our bodies with medical professionals when they cannot provide an expedient, accurate service.
