It seems great in the beginning but after while parents are trapped and held hostage by these contractual snares which I'm not even sure are fully legal so I'm having my attorney look into some contractual laws and to examine it as we speak The routine itself becomes complacent and Master Durant himself burns core values like Integrity into these kids head which is good but doesn't set the example and show any integrity himself it's almost like he is grifting all these parents and treating the business an old corporate Gym membership, the only true thing he cares about is money. I told him my son needed to take a 90 day break because he is going through some emotional hardship right now due to some family adversity and I asked him to suspend my account for 90days and freeze my payments and he threatened me with collections and ruining my credit if I quit like this was some shady gym contract the term is an annual term which should be from date of enrollment and once you're close to the end of that year you should be able to cancel or not renew membership, but Durant tries to dictate the annual term very shady and he will continue charging your card every month as you are still enrolled and if block payment he tries to put your account in collections and mess up your credit report. SOUNDS LIKE PARENTS END UP HOSTAGE TO THESE CONTRACTS AND THAT IS UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, WERE IS THE INTEGRITY IN THAT..... Oh there's more.... Now at 10 years old, he has worked his way through the belt ranks and has become one of the most senior students in his class. His confidence has improved tremendously--he listens well, follows direction, and his performance in school has improved as well. One of the things I really appreciate about this school is the variety of martial arts they offer. Students have the opportunity to train in traditional Karate (kata and stances), Aikido (gentle, flowing techniques), and Jiu Jitsu (ground defense and control), depending on their interests. Another reason we continue to stay is Shihan Smith. He truly takes the time to connect with each student and teach in a way they understand, offering the right balance of motivation, discipline, and encouragement. Of course, nothing in life is perfect and it sometimes seems greener on the other side. But as long as our kids are happy and motivated, The Kick is where they will remain loyal to. The Rico's are tough instructors as they need to maintain structure and discipline in class, but they're family oriented and accommodating to try to fit your needs.
