I had 2 ultrasound tests on July 17th at 9:45. I have done these test several times over the years and I have to say that the lovely young lady Esmeralda who took care of me was absolutely amazing. Her bedside manner was above and beyond! She explained everything she was doing and made me feel extremely comfortable during the long procedures. The hospital is great most staff are very professional and friendly! However, your staff in entrance #4 the cashiers and registration department needs improvement! Every time I go to pay a bill it seems like nobody in that department wants to be there. As I walk in on some occasions to pay a bill for services and sessions. I always get the run around saying that the person is on lunch, or the gentleman at the front desk asked can I help you I tell him what I need to do and he asked me for my ID. Then he told me the lady is on lunch have a seat. Then the lady comes back and finally calls my name. I tell her I'm here to pay for services and sessions then she said oh, they only take cash, or check and I have been paying with a credit card then she has a little quiet attitude, so I always have to explain to them. Then she finally said oh, you're looking for the lady at the end is the cashier. Then I go and used my credit card to pay. However, I asked for an extra Xerox copy of the recipe and she said you can get one from the department you're paying for. I don't think it was all that trouble to get off her chair to get another copy. I could understand if she was very busy with lots of people, but there was only one person sitting in the waiting area. Came to the emergency room with my husband on June 19th, Thought he may have had a stroke. Turns out it was sepsis and a UTI. All our docs are at Northwestern. Time and time again I asked but the attending physician said no to a transfer, He said Northwestern would have been no better. We'll, they couldn't have been any worse than Resurrection. First off, the doc took him off clonazepam. A highly addictive med which should never be taken off cold turkey. My husband had a stage 3 compression ulcer upon admission. When the nurses did their charting their records showed, on 11 different occasions, that there were no sores or wounds on the body. Two times the re ords showed that the sore was on the left elbow when it was actually the right arm. On the discharge there was no wound follow up or instructions on care. The diagnoses on the discharge papers said the doc never even ĺooked at them and signed off. Really awful place, never go there. FYI: the sore is now a dangerous stage 4. John Ÿÿÿ read more

I went hear for a ER visit. I was unable to breathe. I got yelled at by a male nurse while telling me to control my breathing. My body is numb and I couldn't control my body. I seriously thought I was dying. Took them a hour to even be covered with a blanket when a new nurse came in and noticed my oxygen levels were low and I finally was given oxygen after I'm begging them for hours I couldn't breathe. No water or IV for hours. Nurses would walk by my door and literally ignore me. No information for hours. The first person I see with in 20 minutes of getting there is the billing department. Unbelievably horrible place- made me feel worthless. - I will say once the doctor talk to me 6 hours later he was extremely friendly and nice- so was the new nurse I received that noticed my oxygen was low. This is an older medical center and hospital. I have visited it several times, mostly for quick and convenient bloodwork, and the main reason in turn for that is that my urologist has an office here. It's been around since 1953 and was known back in the day to be quite a good facility. These days, it's kinda outdated and dingy, but they get the job done here and it's still popular with the older locals. They have a lab run by Alverno Laboratories that adequately takes care of any required bloodwork. They have a convenient and plentiful parking lot also. read more

Dino is the security officer there. An older gentleman. I came in by ambulance in the middle of the night. I was leaving early in the morning. I was trying to schedule an Uber or a lift with my insurance company, but for some reason, the representative needed to talk to the doctor. I asked if I can go back into the emergency room. And the lady that sits at the reception desk was above and beyond rude. She's telling me OH NO- once you leave the emergency room, you can't go back in there!!!" She told me to step to the side as she put her right arm out and her pointer finger to show me where I needed to go stand??!!! She said she was gonna take care of the gentleman behind me first! I said "I don't think so ma'am -because I was here first respectfully" She threatened me she was going to call security and have me trespassed!!! like what? Literally I just got out of the ER. I Want to go home and this lady is telling me she's gonna have me trespassed as a patient??? taking someone else before me, even though I was first in line? It was a huge problem. Then I was being accused of taking video by the security. Which I did not. So I have two security officers now come up to me ! Dino (rude as FK) and another Caucasian security guard older. I am profusely telling them " I did not videotape anything and you're not gonna see my phone. Nor are you allowed to." OK so they leave and now we have two hospital administrators come up to me as I'm sitting down. They're accusing me of videotaping too!!! WTF?! Specifically the Asian lady with her clipboard in hand. I must've told them six or seven times-"I never videotaped anything.!!!" The Asian lady says "we have proof. And we're doing an investigation" I said, "OK do whatever you need to do but I didn't videotape anything . By the way, I said, look up in your ceiling. You're videotaping me right now!!!" The Asian lady says "if we see anything on social media that you videotaped anything we will get our lawyers and take action" . Like WTF! I couldn't believe I was going through this. Now, I'm fuming! Fuming! So I stand up to look at the second lady eye to eye. And I said to her, "I will let you see my phone, not that I have to, but you, (pointing to the Asian lady) you need to step back because you are not gonna look at my phone!" So I start to scroll through my photos. And the Caucasian lady administrator from the hospital she's like "ok." so I show her the most recent pictures which is of my breaded chicken breast. She commented on them how great they look. And that was pretty much it, and then the Asian lady said to me before she turned and walked away, "sorry." I said to the Asian lady with a clipboard "you can take that sorry and you could shove it you know where!!!! I have NEVER in my life at 59 years old have ever had an experience like this at ANY Hospital! Dino, the reception lady (full figure lady with a mask on, of course) and the two ladies from Hospital administration, I have never had five people coming up on me before as aggressively as they did, as a sick patient leaving emergency room!!! You people should be ashamed of yourself. I was treated in such a disgusting manner. SUSANNA MANTIA- look me up as your patient. Now my most recent visit to the ER was on July 11 2026 for a severe UTI. Pain level eight. I ran out of my hydrocodone prescription. I asked the resident doctor can I please have a hydrophone tablet for the pain? They started me off with Toradol. Then they wanted to give me Tylenol. Obviously that doesn't work. so the female resident comes into my ER room and says, "you have four Norco prescriptions! " I said, "what?" "No I don't?" "If I did, I would've taken it before I left to go to the ER and I would've brought the bottle to the ER with me." This went on for 2 1/2 hours. Even speaking with the emergency room charge nurse. She was rude. Thank God when my doctor came in -Dr. Sharp. I told him the situation. He immediately said "oh, did you need a Norco tablet? sure! That's all you need? No problem. I'll give that to you" And HE DID! Thank God for Dr. Sharp. But the female resident told me when she was in my emergency room that we don't give Norco, for a UTI. Wow! So you treat the sickness of the patient, but you don't treat their pain? Why are you asking my pain level when I come into the ER. I caught the female resident Dr before I left. She apologized. I apologized too . But I told her "of course you don't treat a UTI with Norco you treat a UTI with antibiotics. And you treat pain, with Norco." She profusely apologized. I did as well. I'm glad it worked out. I'm glad that she was big enough and professional enough to apologize. That's all I needed. All is forgotten. But regarding that other incident? No way! I visited the Vascular Center at the hospital the other day. The receptionists were very kind and attentive. I was taken into the room fairly quickly for my initial EKG. While I waited a while for the physician assistant to come in, it was well worth the wait as she was a a kind-hearted, active listener who showed great empathy as she crafted a care plan for me moving forward. Why does this hospital have such terrible reviews?! I realize hospitals are a place of alot of stress for the individuals that are going there and their families. My mother was in ER the whole day and has been on the 2nd floor - east for the past two days and both the ER and 2nd Floor - east has been nothing but professional and kind and have come every time the buzzer has been buzzed. As mentioned time is stressful in the hospital. I approached every person here with kindness and "please" and "thank you" and "I'm sorry to bother you but ..." I don't usually leave healthcare related reviews on Yelp, but am making an exception here. I had a routine test performed 10 days ago and still don't have results. In the past, I've received the results in 24 hours or less. I cannot access new patient portal and old patient portal (when Res was part of Ascension) doesn't contain new data. Day of my test the technician mentioned there might be a delay in radiologist being able to access prior radiology films and reports. I wasn't aware that Res had a new owner. Very unhappy about change in ownership and quality of service. read more

The staff checking you in at entrance 4 are rude. No one answers the phone in the women's health office or family practice when you call. If you leave a voicemail, don't expect a call back. Don't expect a doctor to call to explain test results to you. Basically the worst hospital I've been to. If you are instructed to get bloodwork done in the lab by entrance 4, they may or may not have the paperwork needed when you show up. read more

This review is for Radiology section. I went there for the Cardiac CT Scan. I told them when I registered that I was hearing impaired. When I arrived at the waiting room, I also told that I was hearing impaired. When I laid down on the machine, I told them that I was hearing impaired and that I did not bring my hearing aids so that they would not interfere with the test. At no point did anyone ever tell me that the machine gives out Audio Instructions to 'hold and release breath'. I heard sounds but I could not make out the words, so I stated to the technician during the test "I don't understand", then she yelled at me that "I ruined her test" and told me that the test was over. While looking at my paperwork, I saw a note that clearly stated "patient is hard of hearing", they definitely are not properly trained to deal with hearing impaired patients. Plus she was rushing me off the machine because there was a line of other patients waiting to be scanned. I told her that I was slow because I have neuropathy in my legs. They treat people like cattle. Clearly they need to review their Americans With Disabilities policy and procedures.... read more

My son went a week ago for blood tests. Waited over an hour while I waited in the car. Also gave a urine sample. Test results were never sent to his Dr they had no record other than him checking in. Where are the results?!!!! This is unsatisfactory service What did he waste all that time? The ER isn't any better when I was there recently. If you are on drugs or homeless you get better service. Last Feb. 25, 2025, my husband picked up at the Chicago Airport via emergency service due to severe pain on his abdomen. When he got admitted same day, doctors 1st diagnostic was insect bite but its not as per surgeon doctor, so they need to do the surgery last Feb.28, to stop the infection. After the surgery, they gave him pain reliever to ease the pain. However, Mar. 1 (day 1) , pain reliever medicine is NOT AVAILABLE due to their invalid reason such as changes of system in the pharmacy and they cant access the pain medication. With this, he suffered for a horrible pain that no one wants to experience it. He asked to be transferred to other hospital but the nurse said "it depends if there's an available room" (as if they checked it) . While my husband keep on asking for their help, the nurse said that they can get it already, so he waited for another hour and nothing has been given to him because it's just a lie, how? he called them again for follow-ups (many times) then the other nurse said the same reason - issue with the Pharmacy system. Some nurse took care of him but some are not. Some nurse can't even give his medicine on time (it should be 4 hrs. but they will do it after 5 hrs. instead). He needs to keep on following up from time to time like his breathing treatment (for the past 5 days, they only give them 2x - this should be every 6 hrs.); Pain medicine - can't give on time because of system problem and more. He keeps on repeating all the things he needs where in fact hospital should monitor their patient sincerely. People goes to the hospital to treat them well and not to be neglected nor mistreated. read more
