While I don't want to put down any record shop, as they have become essential to keeping vinyl alive, this store just has a few things to have me give it 5 stars. 1. Yes, it's nice to have a great variety of inventory, but I will not look at any of it if it's down on the floor. I know they are trying to maximize limited space, but I shouldn't have to hunker down to sift thru inventory. 2. Its cramped. The bins holding records are stuffed. You can't flip thru without taking out a handful and setting it aside. 3. It's hot. And once you get a few people in there, it gets warmer. And when you gotta crouch down to look at half the store, it gets just that much warmer. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I visited the store. But it's because of these three things that I didn't stay longer than I did. But at least my daughter didn't leave empty handed. read more

The layout of this store is one of the best layouts I've seen! However, the guy that was working the counter was one of the worst people I've dealt with in a record store. There is the "right way" to respond to customer's questions or comments, and there's the "wrong way"/unprofessional way to respond to a customer. This guy was all about the wrong/unprofessional way! I will not return to this store because of his attitude. (And you don't look anything like Freddie Mercury!) Again, this is a great store with a very unprofessional employee! If this "encounter" wouldn't have taken place, the review would be a 5-star review with the only suggestion being to get new copies of older (60's, 70's, 80's) music in their collection. read more

The best oldies vinyl, cassette tapes, and general assorted stuff around anywhere. Mike runs a tight ship and it shows. Very well laid out and marked. If you are looking for vintage stuff, this is your place. Very good selection, with new stuff showing up daily, and the prices are right on! I came in to sell some records. From the moment the owner spoke to me I knew I was dealing with a narcissist. He thought my taste in music was trash so he treated me like trash. I highly recommend never going there in your life. I liked the plants though. You're a liar and karma is real so watch what happens. This is by far my favorite record store in the Inland Northwest (and one of my favorites anywhere). The owner Mike has amazing taste in music and stocks his store with titles you can't find in other stores in the area at very fair prices. Since moving to the region two years ago I've never had a bad experience when visiting and have discovered a lot of great albums thanks to the selection of the store and the recommendations of Mike and his employees. The albums are arranged in genres ranging from post-punk/goth/darkwave to shoegaze to metal to hip-hop and so much more. It makes for a great place to shop if you're looking for a specific record or if you want to discover something new. read more

Resurrection Records has an exceptional selection of new and used records, cassettes, CDs, shirts, and occasionally record players and stereo equipment. Regardless of your musical taste, you will be able to find some gems here for fair prices. This store has impeccable organization. I mean, you can't get much better than this, really! Everything is organized by genre and sub-genre, and the labeling makes it easy to find what you're looking for or stumble on something new. The employees are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgable - if they don't know something they will look it up for you. Great vibes all around. [posting an edited review that's just the facts with the hope Mike stops messaging me about it] I ordered two albums from RR's discogs store, and I paid within minutes of opening the order. One week later, I got the notification that a shipping label was printed. One week after that, the tracking # had not updated, indicating that the package was not received by USPS. Despite knowing I had access to this information, Mike insisted he had in fact shipped the record. Another week went by and I asked for a refund. Mike offered to send out the order again - despite previously asserting it had went out (I guess he had extra copies of my "lost" order hanging around) - at his expense, as if this was some gracious act. I declined, asking only for a reimbursement. After spotty communication, he finally sent the refund. With that, he also sent his poor attitude. I guess I should be grateful he was so kind as to have refunded me for a purchase he was not able to fulfill? Or that I am being unreasonable for not trusting him to send a replacement out in the mail? I'll never know. He has lots of positive reviews here and on discogs, but he also has a good deal of negative ones. I'd be inclined to trust those. Like he says in the response to my original review: "its just a fact that not every order will make it to the recipient" If you want to risk being that recipient, consider buying from Resurrection Records. Me? I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I tried to sell some records here a while back. There were about 20 records total. 10 of them were in great condition and 10 of them were in very poor condition. I made it very clear that I would only sell the nice ones if he wasn't interested in the not-so-nice ones. After browsing through the records and making some judgmental comments, the owner said that he could only offer me $60 for the whole stack. "Wholesale price." He didn't even open up some of the nicer records which folded out into 3d displays. He said that he would have a really hard time even selling any of these which I know wasn't true for all of them because some of them were in very good condition and were classic records. In my opinion, all of the records in the nice stack could've been resold by the owner for at least $10 a piece. Even if he only offered us $60 for the nice stack that would be $6 per record which would be a 40% jackup in price even though he says he doesn't have a very large profit margin. I find it hard to believe that he would sell some of those records for $5 dollars like he was implying. I think that when he saw some of the records in poor condition he assumed that I am not capable of taking care of records so I don't deserve a fair price. Music is about love, not about being anal about the condition of the record :). Edit in reply to owner: I never asked for $50, I said that we had purchased some of the records for that amount. $20 was the top price that we asked for when you asked what was the most we were looking for. Like I said, 10 of the records were in great conditions, they had sleeves and no mold. We didn't even have 3 records from the same band so can you please be specific about who's in prison on sexual assault charges. Also if there is any mold its a very small amount cause I didn't notice it, but a little mold never hurt anyone haha. Your reply proves to me that you used the poor quality records to discredit the nice ones. read more

I purchased an album from Resurrection records The album was sealed. when I got home I realized I already had purchased this album somewhere else and called to see if I could bring it back. The album is still brand new unopened and I was told they would not take it back because it was not in their possession or some kind of BS like that. All I wanted to do was exchange it for a different album of equal or lesser value. I guess it's my fault having so many albums that I can't keep track. The album was $48 and has there price tag on it with the business name but they still won't exchange it. I mean they're not losing any money on the deal. More importantly, what they're actually losing me as a customer. Possibly more because I'm gonna share this with all my friends that love to go to the record stores in Spokane. There are plenty more record stores in Spokane and I've not had a problem like this before. I have returned albums for them being warped or skips. If I were you I would steer clear of this business because once you purchase an album regardless of the condition it's yours. I spent over $128 at the store. I just can't believe they won't exchange a sealed album. read more

If you find an expensive record here there is a good reason, it's hard to find. And i found myself wanting to buy the most expensive ones for that very reason. Checked out Resurrection Records on a Saturday morning. It wasn't busy and I waited politely as the gentleman ahead of me finished his conversation with the guy working. I was on a hunt for a particular album and was told it was available online from overseas. This guy was abrupt and rude when I asked if he was familiar at all with the style of the album I asked about,perhaps he might suggest something similar. He wasn't into that at all. There were no other clients in the store so I wasn't taking up his time, he was just very dismissive. Maybe I just caught him on a bad day but hey, you own a shop, you need to be good with people. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. Worst experience I've ever had purchasing an item. Placed order and paid for limited edition clear Coke bottle vinyl. Waited 3 weeks with no response to 3 emails and 2 phone calls, only to receive the standard black vinyl. I contacted them and they had an attitude like it was my fault that I was sent the wrong item. After several emails to them, stated to send it back and they'd refund me, IF the item was unopened. I told them that of course it was opened, otherwise I would not have known that it was not clear vinyl. They said send it back and they'd refund me. Now they are refusing to refund me, stating that I damaged the vinyl, even though I NEVER removed it from the packaging -- when I opened it and saw there was black vinyl inside, I put it right back in the shipping container and contacted them. Now I'm out 36.00 and they have the merchandise. Simply horrific business practices. THEY send me the wrong item, but somehow I'M to blame. Avoid! read more
