But as with any other big box gym, the expensive specialized equipment are also subject to wear and tear. The GM is personable, and makes the rounds to check on people, equipment and cleaning wipes, which are readily available and most people seem to use, so bravo to that. It gets crowded, particularly during the late afternoon to early evenings. During my time here, I've not been snubbed by people, and have offered others to work in because waiting between equipment can take time. Dumbbells are more often than not in the racks where they belong when not used, which is rare in big box gyms. This is probably one of the better big box gyms around. I enjoyed my time here.

So, I have gotten some of the methods to parking decent enough. Because of my soon to be new hip, I need my door to be wide open when getting back in. Some of the people working there have been helpful. Now, on to a parking issue today when leaving. I was parked in the inner spot, that means that one of the attendents need to move the other car. Well, that took say 15 minutes as this parking guru was too busy doing nothing and I raised my voice at bit to say "when are you going to move this other car," and he was far away from me at the time. When the jerk finally started to walk to the car he told me to be polite. I am polite but not after the wait on the tarmac without a response from the cockpit. Ugh...the parking here is such a mess and I wish they would hire some decent folks, pay them well and all could be happy.

The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely committed to fitness. I've learned proper form, improved my posture, and built strength I didn't know I had. When I first started lifting, I was wobbly and off-balance - like Bambi. Now, I feel confident and powerful. I've also gained a much better understanding of how important nutrition is. This is hands down the best gym I've ever been to, and I'm so glad I found it. Shout out to the trainer Alexis who has been so patient with me and cheered me on since day one. She's so motivational. She always has such a warm and positive spirit about her. I don't know how she does it with her super early morning classes lol She is truly a gem. Out of all trainers I have ever had she is the one that has inspired me the most to know that it's possible and I can do it. The proof is there! I've done DEXA scans along the way and I've continuously cut fat and gained muscle.

The small group training format makes a huge difference: the coaches genuinely care about your progress, and you feel like you're getting stronger together. Their approach is refreshingly balanced, no pressure to train every single day. They encourage consistency with a realistic 3x-a-week cadence that's sustainable and actually delivers results. One of the biggest standouts is their incredible nutritionist, Celia. She's knowledgeable, encouraging, and keeps things flexible and realistic, no rigid plans or extreme restrictions. Plus, because she's also a trainer at the gym, she understands the full picture of your training and can tailor her guidance accordingly. I've worked with several nutritionists in the past and Celia is by far the best. Lift Society even throws in the occasional social outing, which makes it feel more like a community than just a gym. It's honestly one of the hardest things to leave behind as I move from LA to Brooklyn.

(This review is for fitness training with David S)…read more I can't recommend David highly enough. As a former college athlete, he brings a deep level of knowledge--not just in building strength and fitness, but also in injury management, recovery, and long-term sustainability. That expertise shows up in every session. As an athlete in my mid-40s with my fair share of injuries and the wear and tear that comes with age and life, David has been very helpful. He has helped me stay consistent, get stronger, and avoid setbacks. What really sets him apart is how attentive and adaptable he is. He adjusts workouts on the fly based on how you're feeling that day, while still challenging you in the right ways. He brings great energy, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor that makes tough workouts enjoyable. And after the workout he takes you through stretches, which is a great way to end the session. It helps me feel calm and restored as I transition to the next thing. Beyond all of that, David is simply a kind, genuine person who truly cares about his clients. It's clear this is more than a job for him--it's his mission.

The 6-week programs are structured in a way that makes it easy to track progress and actually see improvement. When I started, I couldn't stand for long periods due to back pain. Now I've built real functional strength and am working toward muscle gain, something that once felt very far away. I take Paul's classes and he's incredibly attentive. He corrects form, offers smart modifications, and makes sure we're challenged every week. His coaching truly makes a difference. Highly recommend if you want structured training, real results, and a supportive environment.

They even have a Brazilian jujitsu studio next to the main workout area. I really like how open this space is. It's clean and both self contained and spacious at the same time. Megan did a great job offering corrections during yoga sculpt without being invasive or aggressive. Been meaning to write this review since I signed up at the end of May…read more This gym strikes the perfect balance of intentional, multi-disciplined athletic performance and a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. The problem in LA when you're looking for a gym is: 1. The gyms in your vicinity are corporate owned and the clients range from disrespectful to arrogant, or all of the above. 2. The gyms have quality control issues, unhygienic, and unmaintained equipment and/or facilities 3. Charge exorbitant rates for basic elements every gym should have (high price = absolute bellend customers who wish they could be at the Bezos wedding). This gym takes care of all three of those and then some. Having met and chatted with Dakota, Eric, Grace, and Brett (some of the gym's amazing staff), if the facilities don't convince you this is the most well balanced, INDEPENDENTLY OWNED gym in LA, these guys certainly will. They are so bloody friendly and make the atmosphere feel great. To your continued success and expansion GymTonic
