My initial appointment was a nightmare I was at the office…read moreover two hours. This seems to be the norm based on other reviews. The very last specialist I saw keep me waiting 20 mins. When I questioned her she became defensive. There were 2 person in the office. My mistake was making the appointment over lunch hour. She finally got to me at 1p.m. 2nd issue the office has contacted me no less than four times discussing payment, three times at my home once in the office with the promise of calling me one more time before surgery. Incredible. I understood my responsibility the 1st time Lastly they are charging me $485.00 out pocket $95.00 more than I paid in Cleveland for the same exact surgery. Their response when questioned, my insurance doesn't cover this. My insurance has not changed Just not right.

I am the support person for my friend today. She is having cataracts removed from one of her eyes…read moretoday and the other eye on Wednesday. My friend used the complimentary shuttle service, who picked her up from her home and brought her to the Eye Specialist of Indiana. The driver was incredibly friendly, introduced himself, and made eye contact and shook our hand. Once all testing has been completed here, the shuttle returns to take us to the surgery center downtown at 1901 N. Merdan Street. I'll write a separate review for the surgery center. The staff has been incredibly friendly, well organized, and great about answering questions. The waiting area is extremely large, nicely decorated, filled with comfortable chairs and even a piano. There is a complimentary coffee area with snacks and a microwave. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is the half-hour wait after checking in. Otherwise, everyone has been amazing.

I'm really struggling between 2 or 3 stars. I ultimately chose 3 stars because they ARE pleasant to…read morework with and they're also trying to make things right. However, there have been some extremely frustrating hiccups that should have never happened. The biggest issue that I take with this location, is that they do not have proper knowledge on the correct frames or even fitting those frames, for a 1 year old needing a very strong (thick) prescription lens. Many caregivers are depending on them to guide them when experiencing this for the first time, and they were not able to do that. This resulted in receiving glasses that were entirely to big and they couldn't hold the lens in place well enough either. While they tried their best to be helpful in reordering the right type, something went wrong with the order and the wrong glasses were sent to their office. Thankfully her mother ordered a second, backup pair that can be used in the meantime. However, they are not the durable, non destructible type like she needs for everyday wear. Quite a frustrating and expensive ordeal.

It's hard not to write a 5 star review when we owe our child's sight to this place!…read more We came to find out that our child needed nearly immediate surgery... and by God's grace we picked this place from a list supplied by our pediatrician... and we were assigned a doctor... and couldn't have been any luckier than to have been assigned to Dr. Daniel Neely! The staff is pretty great here... as mentioned, we were very lucky to have such a great doctor in Dr. Neely. He knew right away that my child needed surgery. He had great way to comfort me in my shock, by saying things I didn't know I needed to hear at the time... such as "this is nothing you did, it's just back luck" (as my child was still a baby). And reassured me that he'd do his best in surgery and if we did our part with patching, our child wouldn't likely have nearly perfect vision after this! The assistants have always been very sweet and patient and kind. But the receptionist aren't usually all that friendly, but they get the job done... The facility is clean. The bathroom is far away, across the hospital. The wait is usually at least 20 minutes past your appointment time, and we've had to wait past an hour at times. The pediatric glasses shop in here is THE place to go, don't shop around, THIS place knows it's stuff and you won't find better knowledge nor service anywhere else.
