Throughout the process, I felt significant pressure to purchase upgraded lenses and laser procedures, with repeated suggestions that the insurance-covered lens would result in poorer outcomes. This made the experience feel more like a sales transaction than a medical consultation about my vision. Following surgery, I have continued to experience persistent blurred and double vision. During follow-up visits, Dr. K attributed these issues to my prior LASIK surgery, however this potential complication or limitation was not discussed with me prior to cataract surgery. What was most disappointing is that, after identifying prior LASIK as the cause, no solution or treatment plan was offered. I was ultimately referred back to my regular eye doctor to obtain glasses, leaving me feeling that my concerns were no longer being addressed by the surgeon who performed the procedure. Cataract surgery is a major medical decision, and patients deserve transparent counseling, balanced recommendations, and continued care when outcomes are not as expected. Unfortunately, my experience fell short in those areas.

However consistently with the Roseville office the technicians doing the tests are cold, impersonal, not clear/or don't offer instructions for the tests. Today the first tech made no eye contact and the entire time had her back to me typing on her computer. The second tech rushed me through a test and couldn't take the time to guide me to the next of 3 waiting areas. I waited to write this review after multiple visits knowing some folks have bad days. But this seems to be a culture in that tech team that is really not friendly, warm or caring. Have had a completely opposite experience at the Sacramento office and will be going there from now on.

Less than two hours before the…read moreappointment, I got contacted by the office stating Dr. Hines cancelled because he was no longer taking appointments after a certain time (late afternoons). I am updating my review approximately nine months after LASIK. I appreciate that Dr. Hines continued to see me before August 13th and was waiting for my vision to stabilize before making further decisions. At my last appointment, he acknowledged that he was not perfect and does make mistakes, which I respected. However, both eyes remain blurry. I continue to experience fluctuating vision, ghosting, starbursts, reduced contrast, headaches, and occasional sudden, sharp pain in or behind my eyes. My visual problems have largely been attributed to alleged clogged meibomian glands, despite following maintenance instructions. While I understand these issues can affect vision, I still have unanswered questions. My vision remains blurry, and it was actually at its best and most consistent during a period when I was not using a heat mask or eye drops. I was prescribed Xdemvy, and my vision worsened during/after using samples and has never returned to what it was beforehand. I was not shown the clinical evidence supporting the need for this medication, and I had never previously been diagnosed with blepharitis by another doctor. Honestly, the heat mask resolved dryness and irritation, although my vision didn't improve or stabilize. I would like to understand the objective findings that supported that diagnosis and treatment. I am asking for the cause of my ongoing symptoms to be objectively investigated rather than primarily attributed to my glands. At the last appointment, they wanted to test me for macular degeneration! It had been under a year since I had been tested and thought that was really reaching. Just to be clear, I have always had healthy eyes. I've never had any abnormalities and had 20/15 vision in my 30s. I would specifically like to know whether my higher-order aberrations have been measured and to see my wavefront results and pre- and post-LASIK corneal topography/tomography. I would also like to know whether residual or irregular astigmatism, coma, spherical aberration, or treatment-zone issues have been evaluated as possible causes of my blurred vision, ghosting, starbursts, and reduced contrast. I would also like to see the objective findings supporting any diagnosis of blepharitis/meibomian gland dysfunction and the decision to prescribe Xdemvy. I was also disappointed when my most recent appointment was cancelled by the office only two hours before I was scheduled to be seen. Given the cancellation and the ongoing problems I am experiencing, I would appreciate the office making an effort to accommodate me for a replacement appointment rather than requiring me to rearrange my work schedule. I appreciate the continued follow-up. I am not asking my doctor to be perfect. I am asking for clear answers supported by objective testing, and for the office to follow through in helping me resolve these issues.

During the per-op appointment Dr. Skelton set realistic expectations and listened and answered everyone of our very many questions. He put my mother at ease. After listening to my mom he suggested a Mono Focal lens, due to the fact that she was comfortable with the possibility of still needing glasses after surgery. Dr. Skelton's vision goal was for her the past the driving test. First surgery was on August 3, 2020. He decided to fix the dominate eye first to improve my moms quality of life sooner. Dr. Skelton did a very good job of explaining the reasoning behind this decision. Since we thought the less dominate eye would be done first. We couldn't of been happier with the surgery! Her vision was restored instantly. In her case by day two she could see clearly with no blurred vision, but everyone is different. We had two more follow up visits with Dr. Skelton. And then her second surgery was performed on September 1st, 2020. Her second eye is a lazy eye so there were lower expectations and a possibility of no vision change. She didn't start to experience improvement until the following day. It was miraculous she could see very clearly out of her lazy eye by day 2. My mom did experience a complication on September 2nd, 2020. After stoping the Perdnisolone Acetate. She experienced rebound inflammation, this was when we were truly grateful for Dr. Skelton. We called the emergency line at 10:30pm, my mom was punched straight through to Dr. Skelton. I texted him photos of her eye and he made room for us to come in the following day 7:45am. After doing a thorough examination he felt comfortable that it was rebound inflammation and put my mom back on the Prednisolone for another 30 days. We where nervous that her vision was still blurry the following day and he made time to see her again the same day. The inflammation is back under control and my mom is moving forward with the healing process. As of now she has 20/20 vision in both eyes but it can take up to a year for complete healing. Everyone is a little different. To sum it up Dr. Skelton is an AMAZING SURGEN! He will listen to your needs. He is meticulous and determined to give you the best out come possible. Above all the compassion he has for is patients is what makes him so amazing. He is truly changing peoples lives and gave my mom back her vision, when she was practically blind. They discovered, not only a clogged carotid artery, but an aortic aneurism. Now Dr. Moore has probably saved my life. For over a year he has been trying to find why I suffer periodic and temporary blindness in my right eye. Other doctors and tests couldn't figure it out, but Dr. Moore remained persistent. A previous ultrasound of my carotid proved nothing. Doctor insisted on a second and consulted with the same vascular surgeon, Dr. Clayson (on a Sunday evening, no less). We now know that my right carotid is 85-99% clogged and I am being scheduled for surgery, and Dr. Clayson is looking into why the lab didn't see it previously. What a long running team, these two.
