This is my first review on Yelp, but after tonight i felt inclined! We heard about this place from a friend just today so we had to come. We had an absolute blast! From the pinball machines and standup arcade games to the music and atmosphere, this place really shines! They might not have all your favorites but if you know your classics you'll certainly be able to find a few to spend your time. $10 gets you an hour, which flew by with all the fun we had, we had to get another! The staff was very friendly and laid back, not hounding you when you time is up but kindly reminding you that you can continue the fun for $10 more. We also had the pleasure to meet the owner who was absolutely friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be running the place! The owner Bob responds to emails promptly. My wife realized that this place was on our way between stops to our next destination. She emailed Bob and he replied quick, When we arrived he gave my wife and i a tour before we paid. They have awesome pinball machines that are well maintained. If we had a problem with anything we let Bob and or his assistant know and they took care of it. Bob maintains his machines and they are in awesome shape! He even showed us the upgraded Elvira and the party monsters pinball that he installed a LED kit into. They don't serve food or drink but have a New York pizza place next door. After paying the entrance fee for a day pass, which is the best value, you get a wristband that allows you to go in and out all day. If you plan to stay over 2 hours get the day pass! We took pictures of our scores for Pindigo app. Bob checked on us a few times and even gave us a recommendation to play NBA fast-break In 2 player mode. That was a blast! He sells great retro merch including shirts etc. When we pass through town I hope to have time to stop again in the future. read more

I had a great time playing the games here. I paid for the all day play and it was totally worth it as I was there for close to eight hours. For a smaller place they had many of my favorite video games such as Ms Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga and Tempest. They have a lot of older and newer pinball machines such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Metallica and Iron Maiden and older ones such as NBA, Game Show, Hook and an NFL one. Overall a good time and I would recommend this place to everyone. If I lived closer, I'd probably be there at least once a month. read more

We booked a party on a Saturday afternoon for 20 guests. It was my first time here, and I was impressed to say the least. The party room is super cute and everything was set up and ready for us on time. You also get your own private bathroom, which was also super cutely decorated with painted murals. The arcade is on the smaller side, but not so small that we ever needed to wait for a turn on any game. The entire facility was extremely clean! And the staff was so helpful and friendly, checking to see if we needed anything frequently. I will definitely be back and I will be recommending it to friends! read more

Awesome and local family friendly place. This arcade is 25 mins away from my folks' home in Rialto. It beats driving an hr. and traffic to Pasadena's Neon Retro Arcade, plus parking fees. The arcade is well maintained and ventilated. Service is friendly and great. It's spacious between the rows of game machines. $10 per hr. for playing is perfect, no worrying about coins or card credits. There's seating for non gamers like myself. This place popped up on my FB feed one day and next thing I knew I took the hour long drive to check it out. Great place, cool vibe and owner was super chill. Lots of older games of the 80s and a dozen+ pinball games as well. Several "current" Stern titles such as Godzilla, Stranger Things, Avengers just to name a few. Will defiantly be back! I did grow up during the coin op era of late 70's/80's...they cover a bit of every era and have a good selection of pinball..IMHO the pinball is where it's at..I love video games too and dug on alot of the classics...the $10/hr....thats a big maybe..I hear ya it's probably quite the undertaking maintaining the machines..labor of love for sure...but to get a constant $10/hr for coin op games???...I hope you guys can tweak it in a way so that fee can be reduced...I could make 3$ last longer at a Dave and Busters...but thats not hating..just alot of $$$...you pay less for Disneyland per Hour at that rate. read more

Kudos to these guys to bring in some classic arcade/pinball machines for a little "turn back the clock" fun. I took my 12 year old grandson and he loved it. Lots of variety arcades to play and all in one place. You pay per hour for all free play on the machines so no running out of card money or dealing with coins. At $10 hour seems pretty reasonable and they have a second hour at discount. The place is very clean kept and the owners are very nice. With this place so new and location right next door to a well known pizza place I hope they do well. read more

I did not have the distinct honor of growing up during the Golden Years of the American Arcade (late Seventies-mid Eighties). I actually grew up during the Nineties when the American Arcade began a slow, painful descent into non-existence. During that particular decade, with each passing year, pinball machines became less and less prevalent and the classic single or multiplayer arcade consoles were giving way to more technologically advanced ticket-based games. "Arcades" as I grew up knowing them became more like bars and restaurants that just happened to feature one or two arcade cabinets, nary a pinball machine to be found. This slow change was inevitable, as Arcades became less and less meaningful with the advancement of home console gaming. While I personally didn't have a problem with home gaming becoming the new trend, I began to miss the excitement of going out to an Arcade and spending a couple of hours (and significantly more quarters) playing pinball, facing off against a friend in Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, or gathering three other players together to grind our way through The Simpsons. A couple of years ago, I went to an amusement park that featured the Gold Standard of Arcades when I was much younger than I am right now. I went with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday, but I instead wound up attending a funeral. The inside of the Arcade reeked of mold thanks to the water dripping from the ceiling, several of the machines didn't work due to a combination of water damage and pure neglect, and nearly all of the employees on duty that day looked absolutely morbid. I was so disheartened by what I saw that I had to leave my group of friends for a few minutes so as not to lower the morale of the birthday celebration. I began to sob uncontrollably at the idea that the American Arcade had finally, and irrevocably, died, never to emerge again. On Friday, July 21st, like Lazarus rising from the grave, Retrovolt arose and showed me how wrong I was. Although I didn't actually count, I'd imagine that there were approximately fifty machines in the building, about a third of which were pinball machines. I started playing pinball machines right off the bat, playing about six in the first few minutes. The ball got stuck on several machines, and when I pointed it out, they were immediately fixed, the lone exception being the Pac-Man/Ms. Pac Man table, which had to be physically opened (the ball had got caught on a magnetic portion of the board). At one point, a ball got stuck on the Monday Night Football 20th Anniversary table, and when one of the associates helped me release the ball, it immediately went down the center lane and I lost that particular play. I noticed the associate got a little tense when this happened, as he was likely expecting me to give him an earful over the matter, but he relaxed when I started laughing. This leads me to point out something very specific about Retrovolt Arcade: the machines, while well-maintained, are older machines, and are therefore capable of various issues and malfunctions. I personally only had three issues with the machines, and they were taken care of in a fair amount of time, and there were many other machines to choose from while I waited. I was shocked at how easily people moved from one machine to the next. In my experience, most people tend to cling to a machine and play through it the entire time they're there, stubbornly refusing to yield the machine to any newcomers. This never transpired at Retrovolt, even with the children that were present, so that made the experience all the more worthwhile. The music selection at Retrovolt is absolutely fantastic. Drawing almost exclusively from music from the Seventies and Eighties, Retrovolt Arcade felt like a time machine taking me back to that fabled Golden Era of Arcades that I was unfortunate to not experience, since I was born in '87. In one particular twenty minute stretch, I heard ABBA, Bruce Springsteen, .38 Special, and Fleetwood Mac. As a Classic Rock Junkie, the presence of these artists over the speakers got me so amped up that I wasn't even annoyed or frustrated when I made a mistake. The soundtrack fueled me so much that I eventually posted the top three high scores on Dig-Dug (look for the initials "DRF" when you go, if they're still there). I cannot possibly recommend this place any more emphatically. Although Retrovolt Arcade could definitely improve with an expansion, what they offer in their current incarnation is a fantastic treat. With a reasonable price ($10 per hour), unlimited free play on all machines, and a great staff, Retrovolt Retrovolt Arcade offers nearly everything that a fan of old school Arcades could possibly love. You simply must go when the opportunity presents itself. Bravo! read more

Today I brought my son and his best friend to this lovely arcade, it was very nostalgic made me feel like I was in a 80's time capsule, while you were in the arcade you truly felt like you were in a different era, it was wonderful, very colorful, beautiful, extremely neat art surrounding the whole arcade, great 80's music playing , the lights were dimmed perfectly so you could enjoy all the colors of the games. They had very nice pinball machines and lots of arcade games to enjoy. The cost was great as well, $10 each player for an hour, no coins necessary, or you can play for $5 for a half hour. They have soda for sale, and right next door there is a pizza house, sushi, and very nice cafe. This is a great place to spend time in. One more thing there is a giant display screen you could see your games being played on which was super cool. Kind staff. read more
