First time at the Harkins in Redlands--not as great a location as downtown Redlands but only 10 min away and with the space and parking you need for a multiplex with reclining seats! It was the only place near us showing the Short Film Nominees for Oscars. We watched the Animated Shorts which was the top 5 internationally and 1 bonus film. My favorite was Butterfly with its watercolor and my husband's was The Girl Who Cried Pearls which played like a short story of old. We sat next to some lively seniors who kept us laughing with their commentary during the previews. If you plan to go see the Animated Shorts, be aware two are not appropriate for younger viewers due to themes (the last two and they give you a warning beforehand) We knew we'd like the Harkins because we are regulars at the one in Chino, but tahdah! This one has a bar! We did not order anything because we had our minds made up to go to a cocktail bar afterwards (plus we wanted to stay awake for the movie). But it's cool . read more

My party and I watched Super Mario Galaxy on the big Cine XL screen. I have never seen a movie in this room so I was very surprised by how spacious it is compared to the smaller viewing rooms in this cinema. There was ample room between chairs, the chairs were comfy, and have the mechanics to recline back if desired. The sound throughout the movie was just right: not too loud nor too soft. The staff that took our concession and ticket were attentive and friendly. The room was clean and the image on the movie screen very crisp. Last week, my friends and I went to Harkins Theater and were allowed to watch a rated R movie without any problems. Because of that, we expected to be able to watch another rated R movie called Obsession when we went back. However, when we tried to buy tickets, the theater staff told us that we were not allowed to see it because it was rated R. We were confused because someone working there told us that we could watch The Backrooms instead, even though it was also rated R. The employee explained that Obsession had more gore and violence, which is why we could not watch it. This did not make much sense to us because both movies had the same rating, and we had already been allowed to watch a rated R movie the week before. When we spoke to the manager, they told us that the employee was not supposed to say that we could watch The Backrooms. This made the situation even more confusing because we were getting different answers from different employees. We felt frustrated because the rules did not seem consistent, especially since we had been allowed to watch a rated R movie at the same theater just one week earlier. The worker who first spoke to us was a guy, and he told us that we could watch The Backrooms but not Obsession because it had more gore. Later, when we talked to the manager for clarification, the situation did not improve. The manager came across as aggressive and unhelpful, and instead of trying to explain the policy clearly or help us understand the decision, they only told us that the employee was not supposed to tell us that. Had a mother-daughter date to watch "Priscilla" movie. Not too crowded when it's the last showing of the day. Robert T. at the concession stand who took our order was very warm and cordial. He welcomed us warmly and he is the first one who offered to butter the popcorn halfway and then on top. Wow, we really appreciated that gesture. Our popcorn was buttery to munch from top to the very bottom. One thing that was so inconvenient was no tray tables provided and we had to hold our bag of popcorn and a box tray to hold a pretzel and a box of mozzarella sticks with a small ranch sauce container. Harkins Mountain Grove 16 is a pretty decent movie theater. It is located in the Mountain Grove mall/shopping center. It has plenty of parking, which is always a plus. We came to see the new TMNT movie. We bought them online and bypassed the lines. Tickets are average priced compared to other movie theaters. Their concession prices are ridiculously expensive, but that's too be expected. My only complaint is that they don't give 1 free refill on drinks and popcorn like other theaters. Inside is clean and well maintained. Movie theater seats are the nice recliner style. Kick your feet up and relax without having to be right next to other movie goers. Love the spaciousness. Overall, it's a decent spot to take the fam to catch a new movie. Definitely recommend coming here and checking them out. Will be back for sure! read more

We had group tickets and getting in with the QR code was super easy. The person who scanned our QR code was very nice. The cashier at the concession stands was excellent. She was very patient as I tried to sign up for rewards. It was my first time at Harkins. I felt their prices were very reasonable. The large popcorn was $11.50 with one refill of you are a rewards member. I thought that was a great deal. The seats were very comfortable. Four to Five Stars for the auditorium, seats, and sound system. One Star for food service. Allow at least 20-30 minutes before your show starts if you order food that needs to be prepped. Food staff seriously need training on hand washing, glove use and knowing what is and is not available. We were told no hot pretzels, yet we saw several ordered at the opposite order counter being fulfilled...not good when one of the kids wanted a pretzel. Staff doing the food prep were carrying in and opening boxes from the back and then going directly to food prep with no handwashing or fresh glove use. YUCK! read more

I'm asking everyone out there to boycott the Harry Potter movies that will be playing there. Watch anything else, and get the popcorn, candy, drinks, and even a blanket if you're cold, but please don't see the Harry Potter movies! I have loved the Harry Potter movies, and in fact own them all, and the books too. I even have a couple of the wands. But I refuse to put one more penny in J.K. Rowling's pocket!! I've recently discovered that she uses her wealth to support organizations that advocate violence against the Trans community! It's beyond me how she can use movies and books that are aimed at children to support hate groups! It is horrifying, and in direct opposition to what she espouses in her books. I'm late to the information, but I'm urging any and all people who care about the well-being of the Trans community to send a message to her, and to any theater showing her movies that her obnoxious, hateful, and dangerous stance against Trans people everywhere has to stop! Please take this seriously, and please call the corporate office of Harkins to stop playing the Harry Potter movies so no more of OUR money is used for violence, misinformation, and hate toward ANY community, but in this case, specifically the Trans community!! First of all, we do not live here so visit very infrequently. I remember having a less than pleasant visit last time. However, we had a very positive experience. Every worker was very kind and patient. They greeted us and helped us decide on drinks and food. The bartender was kind and friendly. The recking chairs are very comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. The only thing that would add to our future trips, would be to add a tray or somewhere to ear before the food. (More tables) read more

My daughter and I have been going to Harkin's theaters for 16 years. We've been to the Moreno Valley, Chino Hills, Cerritos, and Redlands locations. She would go to their childcare center when she was a kid and has the best memories of those times. We now mostly go to the Redlands location and visited last night to see the new "Beetlejuice". It sometimes feels like teens and older audiences are being overlooked--or perhaps even discouraged from attending. Given that some malls have policies restricting unaccompanied minors, this might be an intentional strategy. I recently had to drive 45 minutes to a different theater just to watch a major summer blockbuster on an IMAX screen, because this location only showed that film on their standard screens. Their single "CineXL" auditorium, which serves as their IMAX alternative, is the only premium large-format option. Unfortunately, the regular screens don't offer much more than what you might get watching at home on a large LCD TV. Another frustration is the concession stand service. Despite the high labor costs built into snack prices, they don't offer self-serve options, which results in long wait times. Paying over $8 for just 2 cups of popcorn--which surely costs them pennies--feels like a poor value, especially when the popcorn isn't even topped with real butter. I am very unimpressed by the fact That you have to have your membership ID to get free refills on popcorn and you have to buy a souvenir cup to get $3 refills on drinks. We bought a popcorn today and forgot to put in our loyalty ID and they wouldn't refuse to give us a free refill and when we explained the situation, they said oh well it's on the board but when we looked, it was in very small print. And when we asked for our free refill on the drink it was explained that we have to purchase a loyalty souvenir cup to get $3 refills. But non of this is explained when you purchase and is very misleading. I don't know when they started this but it should be better explained if they are not following the normal movie theater protocol. We will be going to AMC or Regal theaters from now on. read more

$10 matinee tickets for reclining seats that last any day before 6 PM?!? Absolutely unheard of where I am from. I've been to other Harkins before, so this is INSANE. You CANNOT beat that price. We went to watch Dune here and it was a great experience! They scanned our ticket QR codes and at the side there's napkins, a butter station, and other condiments. Before and after the movies, the bathrooms were very clean. After the movie, they had a separate trash can outside the exit, very smart idea so that the regular trash cans aren't filled to the brim! For the theater itself, they have new smooth "leather" chairs that lounge and recline all the way back. The theater had 30-ish seats, so it's a small theater, but everything is spaced so well that even if someone reclined almost all the way, they don't have to sit back up so people can shuffle by. Great audio quality where some scenes would "shake" the theater and crisp, beautiful resolution on the screens. I would 100% come back here! Just crossing my fingers that they'll show limited time anime movies such as GKIDS Ghibli fest and anime premieres (that's NOT My Hero), one of these days ! read more

I really enjoy their Tuesday classics. Reliving on the big screen favorite movies of my youth. I am handicapped and recently stepped up to an electric wheelchair. As I was heading out towards the exit, one of their floor managers named Hanns accompanied me to open the door for me. I asked him if could possibly help me put my chair in my vehicle because it was kind of too heavy for me. Without hesitation he said "of course" As we made our way to my car we talked about what kind of movies we liked. He put my chair in and said I'll see you soon. first time in the area and my bf & I decided to catch a late night show. theater is updated & well maintained. there is a bar & children's play room in the lobby, however we didn't have time to explore because we were running late for our show. the theater itself is spacious, and seats recline allllll the way back.. my boyfriend couldn't help himself and had his seat leveled almost like a bed-- VERY comfortable. My only complaint was the lights do not dim all the way so you're forced to watch your movie in dim lighting. ALSO there was a moth that kept flying in our theater. read more
