Man, I gotta say this place surprised me in a good way. Empire Bowl feels modern and clean, but at the same time it has that early 2000s bowling alley vibe that a lot of spots lost when they tried to get too fancy. The lights, arcade machines, and the whole setup just hit that sweet spot where it feels fun and nostalgic but still updated. The lanes were in great shape, scoring screens worked perfectly, and the arcade area actually had games people want to play. It's the kind of place where you can bowl a few games, grab some snacks, mess around in the arcade, and just hang out without it feeling dead or outdated. The atmosphere is lively without being chaotic. Honestly, this is what a 5-star bowling alley should be, good lanes, good lighting, fun arcade, decent food, and a vibe where you actually want to stay longer than one game. And I'm just gonna say it... way better than Bowlero. Bowlero feels overpriced and corporate, like they tried to turn bowling into a nightclub. Empire Bowl just keeps it real and actually focuses on making bowling fun. Definitely coming back. read more

Bowling at Empire Bowl was a lot of fun. My party and I didn't order from their snack bar but the service was spot on. After checking in at the front desk for our lane reservation, retrieving our bowling balls, shoes, and making our way down to our lane, we encountered a problem... we couldn't register our details into the computer. I was able talk to the front desk and the staff were able to register our names on their computer without a problem. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. Ambiance... there weren't that many people who bowled at the time of our reservation but the lane we reserved and inside the building was clean and inviting. I will come back here. read more

I am an avid bowler and always have my bowling gear in my trunk. I was on a road trip through California and decided to stop by Corbin Bowl in Tarzana. Let me tell you, this is one of the better centers I've been to outside of Las Vegas. What does any of this have to do with Empire bowl, you wonder? Well, after visiting Corbin Bowl, I went to their website to see if they run any other centers. I see that Empire bowl is on the list and since I was driving east I figured I would stop there before leaving California. Boy, BAD IDEA. It smells like mildew and mold when you step inside and the floors behind the approach looked like they don't ever get cleaned. Just look at the ceiling and you'll see water stains from leaks. Thankfully, the approach was not so bad (although they weren't spotless). The bathrooms smell like urine and weren't clean at all. There is dust all over the floor. And to make it worse, the Pro shop wasn't open either (in the middle of the day!) And the string pins just made it even more frustrating. I didn't want to order any food either based on some earlier reviews and how greasy it felt in there. The prices were a bit ridiculous given the state of the bowling alley. If you want to bowl, skip this place. The only positive I can add is the employees are friendly. read more

As a female bowling alone, I can honestly say I always feel completely safe and welcomed here, even at night--which is not something I can say for every place. The staff truly go above and beyond to take care of their guests. The lanes are spotless, the entire place is well-kept, and the family-friendly atmosphere makes it just as great for kids as it is for adults. On top of that, the bar is top notch. Normally loved this place. Reserved a lane on a Saturday night. The bar is great. Tried to go have a cocktail before bowling. Got to the alley at 815 pm. Entire place rented out for an event. Drove 25 miles to get here to get told to wait until 9pm to come in. Small sign on the door, but no notice on the website or when reservation was made for the lane. Was told we had to leave and wait till 9 pm to come back, which is great because it's raining outside. This is poor business and I guess my money is not good here. I have been here quite a few times now, and I appreciate everything that they have there. Their food and drinks are a little cheaper than what you pay for at a Bowlero. I was able to buy a bowling ball at their shop, and the service there was exceptional. Also, their lanes are in much better condition or are at least oiled properly for those who are more experienced bowlers. When I go to Bowlero or Big Al's, it's either dry lanes or overly oiled, so you can't properly bowl. The staff there are great! I've always felt welcomed, and anytime I needed help with an issue, it always gets resolved. Marty is always happy to help and seems to be a really nice guy. When you arrive for your reservation, Evan makes things go quick and smooth, so you're not waiting too long to get to your lanes. Time for some family bonding with some worn out shoes and a couple drunk people next to you! Got to the lanes at 8:45pm and was given our shoes and lane. Lane 10. We got our balls and made our way to our lane. Another group just got there and we shared the space with another 5some. Next to us on the other side we're some regulars. 6 pitchers of beer took up our entire table and instantly it felt crowded and not pleasant. Right off the bat the lane gets stuck. We wait a good 10 mins for them to reset it. Ordered fries and a pitcher of soda. Fries were hot and crispy and the Sierra Mist was to be expected. Argued with staff here. Paid $60 for 80 minutes and only got to play 2 games. That was bowling quickly with no pauses. We started off with only 72 minutes games play until I went to tell the girl at the counter we were not started at 80 minutes. The argument started when I asked how much it would be for another game and we were told they needed the lane for league night. Already putting league members as priority over a paying customer. Rude. There were plenty of empty lanes. They then said that they don't normally let people pay per game but would let us for $25. So that was now $85 for that lane. Instead of leaving it at that the man at the counter insulted me by saying there was '"no way 4 people could play one game in 30 minutes". I found that extremely unprofessional to say. You should be uplifting and encouraging. I told him that that wasn't very encouraging, to which the 3 staff working the counter laughed at me. You do not laugh at a customer who already feels insulted. I told him then that saying we couldn't bowl a game in 30 minutes was a big FU to us. I walked away. My bf and his friend went to pay the $25. Instead of leaving me to cool off a staff member approached us and asked if everything was okay. I told him it was not. That you do not tell someone that there is no way they can bowl a game in 30 minutes and try and turn a paying customer away. You encourage your customers and make them happy. Especially if they are trying to stay and play more. This man in turn humiliated me in front of my bf and friends and made me look like a Karen when all I was trying to do was defend how the staff here made me feel. No one likes to be told they can't do something. On top of this humiliating experience the lanes here are too slick. Makes the ball have a mind of its own. And the timed bowling is a money making scheme pure and simple. Usually we bowl at Rim Bowling in Crestline. There they treat you like a customer and not a #. Sad to see that Empire Bowl is now commercialized. If you have 4 people you can only get in 2 games in the 80 minute time slot and even then there is a count down clock that makes you panic and rush. We take bowling seriously. Have our own balls and shoes and bowling is relaxing for us. Empire Bowl takes the relaxation and fun away. We were hoping this place would be an alternative to Rim Bowling when we are down here, but we will not return. We also bought our balls here and the guy talked with other customers the entire time he drilled our holes and drilled them wrong, not listening to what we had asked for. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I would recommend the staff be trained in customer service and empathy and that the pricing system be rethought. People like to grab their balls and just go bowling and pay per game, not do reservations and be timed. And if you are going to prioritize leagues then just close your business to the public. read more

He recommended going on the site and to see if we can reserve one lane but like he already mentioned, no reservation times were available. Empire bowl is a great local bowling alley. I would always choose this place over Bowlero. It's clean and was recently renovated. Online reservation system is easy to use. Good prices overall, including the bar. My only complaint about the renovations is the new string pins. It changes the dynamic of the game and scoring isn't as reliable due to string action. Conveniently located near the freeway entrance, corner spot, plenty parking spaces, clean and tidy, and absolutely excellent customer service! My family went bowling tonight and didn't want to travel far so we decided to try this local spot. Very glad we did!! Due to this COVID era, they're extremely understaffed yet a very good worker, Brooke, made it all happen (sorry if I misspelled your name). She was simply incredible! Kept things very organized and orderly, is a fantastic multitasker (skill that very few people have these days), and provided prompt service with checking people in, ensured timeframes for bowlers were kept on schedule for subsequent reservations, and did not crack under pressure with all the customers she was serving. I can't stress enough that I feel we enjoyed this bowling alley even more than we should have thanks to her. Absolutely incredible. This bowling alley is clean, has plenty of bowling lanes, has an arcade section for kids, serves tasty food which is brought to your lane (how convenient!) with a menu perfect for families and kids, and has a very convenient online reservation system. For the smoothest and most convenient experience, be sure to reserve your lane(s) online and bring your credit card to speed things up if you want to purchase anything there. Reservations consists of 90-minute periods and, compared to plenty bowling alleys I've been to, are priced fairly. Try to get there before your scheduled time so you can get setup and start bowling promptly on your given timeslot. Reason being is that once the 90-minute period is done, time for your wrap up. So make sure your party gets there on time! Their system is set in place for optimal business parameters during this difficult time which is completely understandable. I can't speak for professional and serious bowlers, but for novice bowlers such as myself and my family, this is an excellent spot to have fun, enjoy time with friends and family, and put in some good bowling moments on a random evening. Personally I'd rather bowl where there're others like me just trying to have fun and not surrounded by league bowlers - such an intimidating environment. At least when I went, it wasn't like that. Came here to hangout on a Sunday night with some of my family. This place is pretty big! They have an arcade and a bar inside the bowling alley. Inside the bar there's pool tables which is cool. They pour stiff drinks, have a good variety of liquor, and the prices for drinks are very reasonable! Regarding the bowling they have a decent amount of lanes and it's not overly expensive to play. We did have a few issues with the lane with our balls getting stuck but they were nice enough to move us to the next lane over. There's also a little dinner inside where you can grab some food to eat while you bowl and hangout. read more

We had so much fun today for the kids bowl free in the summer. It was quite busy but the arcade kept us busy while waiting for our turn. We spent 20 bucks and the kids played for at least an hour small arcade but fun! We then waited about ten more mins for our lane. We then payed 10 bucks for my kids bowling shoes and got to our lane. Had a terrible experience with front desk. First, I arrive at 8pm with a group of four inquiring about a renting a lane. We were told $80. This was on Sunday 8/24/25. Ridiculous, no where does it say 80 on your website. At most, the advertised weekend session is $60 Friday-Sunday. My group and I were not okay with that price, so we decided we would return in an hour 30 minutes, when late session bowling begins at $30. Advertisements and flyers on the Empire Bowl website say Sunday-Thursday renting a lane at 9:30 pm for the late session is $30. My group and I arrive exactly at 9:30 pm Sunday with a group of 4, expecting to pay $30 as advertised online. We were told that it would be $50, not $30 like advertised on your own website. Was not happy with the price, but still paid because my party and I were interested in bowling. Along with this, our attendant told us that they would be closing on Sunday 10:30pm, contrary to the 11pm closing time that they have at the front of establishment which says 11am-11pm 7 days a week. They also have these times on their instagram page @empirebowl, and on Google and it even says it was confirmed by the owner 3 weeks ago. I was not satisfied at all with my experience here at Empire Bowl, this is the type of experience you do not expect from a local spot, this is McDonald's level of service. My frustrations stem from the information posted online not being accurate and up-to-date. Honor your deals, and take care of the customer. read more

Great place to unwind and have a game of bowling with family or friends. We enjoy the bar and come often to play a game of pool, giant benga or just sit at the bar and have a drink. The service is excellent, drinks and food are great! We love the giant pretzel with cheese as well as the cocktails in the bar. The lanes are often busy so make sure you call ahead of time to make sure you'll have a lane available! There is a VIP room for birthdays or private events and it is affordable! Lockers are available if you need to put anything away! There's an arcade and sit down snack bar area . Bathrooms inside bar area as well as by the snack bar area! Hello and I apologize if you found a reason to bowl here you must be on your toes. Stay vigilant. From the moment I walked in with my Father we were targeted by someone who appeared to be the Tuesday league manager. I would pop in the cafe area of the alley and was about to ask for some assistance and the waitress gave me a look of disgust so I left to check out the rest of the vibe of the area. Didn't wanna eat in there anyway it was disgusting in there try not to look up(grease everywhere). When I asked for the name of the league manager looking dude watching all the league bowlers from the main walkway he shrugged me off like he was better than me. When we went to go request to be on the waitlist the wonderful bowling counter employee informed us she would come find us. So we got the opportunity and went to shoot some pool the vibe on the tables was beautiful at first. Everyone at the bar seemed to be with a mentality that they were better at us though. The bartender was Chaylene forgive me if I spelled it wrong the staff don't have name tags. We got our food relatively fast and it was decent other than the fact that when I got home took a dump and seen that there were parasites in my poop this experience is one that made me worry about how food is cooked and blessed me with initiative to write this. I guess I'm starting my raw fruit diet now. In the 21+ only room I saw a total of 4 different kids. There was a white man who was gang affiliated ruining the vibe of the bar scene and I did run into him later talking to who appeared to be the manager(that type of gang affiliated). I was about to offer our spot on the lane up to whoever needed it next and they said that they had a lane open. While being placed on the lane 24 I noticed it was next to a bunch of kids. They were just about ending league so we did our best to maintain an encouraging safe environment bowling with proper etiquette. Song request was rejected which was okay. After the kids were done bowling aka the last of the league was finished I noticed the we were being watched by a bunch of friendly fellows in purple. After the kids left out of all the lanes that were open which seemed like a total of 20 open lanes we were able to bowl right next to them which was cool and all however I'd be on the approach trying to bowl and a wonderful encouraging man named David would call my name as I was releasing my ball to bowl. Still being as encouraging as possible there ended up being an altercation with a woman named Lisa that got quite heated once she was called a Karen we were leaving back to pool and they followed us practically screaming. Lane 24 wasn't oiled properly anyway but we got the hang of the error. Keep in mind we didn't make a big deal about getting time back even after all of this. We get back into the pool room and I step out front to make a phone call real quick. Only to start walking back and find 4 men kicking my Father out keep in mind we still had spent an extra $50 after bowling to not think and drink most of all while finishing our game of pool. I wanted to go get my belongings at least or check to see if I had gotten all my belongings and they would not let me in. The for of them were following and blocking us from entering. I will never attempt to even think about bowling here again. Especially after my father had dropped on of his bowling shoes and the owner that was kicking us out kicked his bowling shoe while it was already on the ground. This caused damages to the shoe and it went from us trying to leave to us getting assaulted by projectile. Pretty bold move considering if I worked there I'd listen to the no chase act that California has instilled. As we left they still proceeded to follow us around the parking lot and ended up enforcing a possible dangerously violent pursuing presence until we had left. If that was anyone else I'm sure it would have ended up in an open case that rpd would also do nothing about. It took a lot of self control not to escalate an escalated situation these bullies at the empire bowling forced upon us as they continued to feel entitled to fake a pressure in the back of the lot. Great place though had potential to be one of the best places to bowl (which is why they have earned one of my stars) other than the white supremacy conservative aspect of this management. Definitely will pay a little more to go to bowlero because at least they make me feel welcomed. read more

A group of 7 of us decided to go bowling on Sunday. It was actually a lot of fun. We had to rent our lane in advance for 1.5 hour time slot and then when we got there we paid to rent shoes. We got there when it opened so we were able to have first pick of the balls too. We had so much fun after the first game we ended up checking to see if our lane was available and extended our rental for another slot. The place was clean, neat and didn't have any bad odor. Service at the shoe counter was great and they were polite and helpful. A few of us ordered food and it took one order 45 mins to come and the loaded nachos were so soggy and not edible. We also order the loaded nachos but they weren't as soggy and the cheese was still hot so I think we must have gotten ours faster. They uses really thin chips which are tasty but they get soggy fast. You can't let them sit very long before you deliver the order. We also ordered the grilled cheese with fries and that was really good. Met the standard expectations for a grill cheese with the bonus that they were generous with the cheese which made it even better. Fries were also good. If I were to order food again I'd likely just get the grilled cheese. Overall I'll be back to bowl but hesitant to order food unless they speed up the delivery time and avoid letting food sit and get soggy. read more

Visited business to experience the new USBC certified String pinsetters installed on the bowling lanes. Exceptional! I detected no difference from "free-fall" pinsetters. The new equipment was in fact quieter, faster and their appearance was cleaner. In addition to the new pinsetters, the lanes were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The only reason this place got 4 stars and I would have loved to give less is because the girl working in the restaurant with the black hair. She was so rude to everyone because she said she didn't have help and said out loud I wish people would stop ordering! She lost some customers because of that. They just walked out.
