I'm not one to give reviews. I have been burned by this salon time and time again. My fault I suppose. My child had a haircut today, the stylist cut it nothing like the photo we provided. it was 4 inches shorter. My 19 old is so disappointed and upset. I'm livid. Being excited to sport a new cut for college should have been an exciting thing. I paid for disappointment. and now I'm comforting a very hurt child. Or the time I had asked for red balayage and walked out with mainly blond hair. No apologies. The manager stood beside the stylist'a decision. No fix. Not even a coupon for the next visit. Not to mention my other child - fixing highlights. Had to go back twice. Never got it right. Charged both times. I think my favorite though was my wedding day. When my bridesmaids couldn't make it for hair and makeup (traveling), they charged me for all of them. On my wedding day. Thanks for being such a great local business. Needless to say I will never go back. They have no care and concern for their clients. They just have the mentality of a big fish in a small pond. So, I really needed a haircut, and since I can't get one in Michigan (thanks Covid 19) I decided to take a trip to Toledo since their salons are open. I spent a fair amount of time researching, calling and putting time into finding a place that would suit my needs. I found Reve, and made an appointment for a Friday evening with Linsday. I didn't want or need anything fancy, just a nice shampoo, cut and something to make me look and feel better. Boy, am I glad I found this place. It's located in a popular district off Mainstreet in Toledo. If you park in the back, there's tons of free parking and is a lot easier to get in and out than the street parking. Walking in, the place is HUGE. like 3 floors with an elevator huge. Beautifully decorated and swanky with all kinds of stuff going on here. Who ever owns/runs this place did an amazing job of making it feel and look wonderful. Because of the virus, I was required to fill out an online health form and have my temperature taken upon entry, and wear a face mask. I was told this upfront and was ok with it. I also got lots of text reminders of my appointment time and a confirmation reply was requested, which I did. The salon definitely communicates! I was sent to the elevator on the third floor where Lindsay was waiting for me. I sat at a table with a chair and waited to be called. The salon is huge anyway, but the upstairs was beautiful and had so much room to move around in. lots of exposed brick, wood floors, tons of fixtures throughout. Lindsay sat me down and asked what I wanted done. I told her and she said that I could really use a deep conditioning treatment. I've had them done before and my hair always feels better. The treatment was expensive, more than I usually spend, but after having it, I understand why. We went to the shampoo area and she used most of the deep conditioning treatment. She sent me home with the rest to use in 2 weeks. My hair LOVED IT. Its by Kerastase which is supposed to be a really good brand and only sold at approved salons. They are not styling hair here now, but I was extremely happy to go here and get my hair done. It was totally worth the money that I spent, and would tell anyone to go here even if its only once or twice a year. I didn't feel pressured to do anything I wasn't comfortable with and my stylist really listened to my needs. I would totally go here again and am glad I found this place. Had a gift card so scheduled a regular pedicure. Easy to make an appointment and staff was friendly on the phone and in person. Very small amount of polish colors to pick from and a regular pedicure (no foot massage, pumice stone for the rough skin on the bottom of the feet), was $70. The nail tech was extremely nice and did a great job polishing but otherwise, pedicure was extremely overpriced for what you got/the overall experience. If you want a great pedicure for a reasonable price, I'd recommend plenty of other local salons before checking Reve out. Very nice ambiance inside but still not worth what you pay. read more

My beautiful healthy hair[cut] thanks to Kenzie at the salon... my hair was so dry, dull, and impossible after 1+ years without a cut. I was able to get in STAT.. like really nearly walked-in... it was my worlds luckiest day I can't imagine that is common bc this salon and the work Kenzie did... she also was excellent company. She is down-to-earth, nonjudgmental, engaged, and best part: she can do this while actively engaging in good convo, creating/working, managing my near straw hair... she was upbeat and nearly intuitive about how I wanted my hair done. read more

I would not typically have left Reve Salon and Spa three stars after the experience my mother and I had there the other day, however, their customer service and friendly nail technicians saved the day. To make a very long story short, my mom had called and scheduled three manicures and pedicures the morning of my cousin's wedding while I was back in town. When we showed up for our appointments they did not have us down for manicures and pedicures. They only had us down for pedicures. But since my fingers looked like a mangled mess, the nail technician was willing to do an expedited pedicure and a shortened manicure so that I could at least have something done on my toes and my fingers. I understood that it was not her fault but the front desk who mismanaged our appointments so I was grateful that she attempted to do both a manicure and a pedicure in only one hour. My nails came out OK but the entire experience felt rushed and not relaxing in any sense of the word. Luckily, my mother was able to speak to the manager on site that day and he was more than understanding and apologized profusely. I look forward to coming back to Reve the next time I'm in town to give them another shot. read more

This review is for mani/pedi services. This place is expensive-- shockingly expensive for what you get. I certainly need to preface that statement by saying I do not mind expensive when it is worth it. Our services were more expensive than that of all of my mani/pedi's that I can remember in recent history (I get them every two weeks). It is definitely my fault for not consulting their website, so just beware that a gel pedi is $90 plus $15 soak off if you have gel already. Mani was $46 plus $15 soak off. Total was $315 (including tip) for two manicures and two pedicures. None the less, with these prices I really expected more. On the website it also states that you can "Choose mint mask or warm paraffin." Neither of us received this during our service. The salon's facade seems beautiful but we noticed some missing upkeep. It is modern and they carry fantastic products (Kerastase and Shu). There are three floors-- we were instructed to walk to the third. Along the way I noticed the carpet was in disrepair and the second floor is the break room. I was surprised to see the door wide open with stylists eating and chatting. The manicure stations are comfortable enough. The pedicure stations look a little worse for wear and my massage did not work. As I look at my manicure I can see different levels. I have never had this happen. I am not sure if it is my nail or the gel. My cuticles are not very neat. The tech was having a bit of difficulty getting my old gel off and unfortunately, made the rest of the appointment extremely rushed. The tech decided that she did not have time to do my pedi and that her assistant would need to do it as she had another client coming in (a regular, I presume). I can't say I have ever had this happen before and I was a bit taken aback as I did not expect this. I really needed a pedicure and was limited on time so I did not decline. I will note that she did do an acceptable job. She was definitely the friendliest out of the employees. The shape is beautiful and it was relaxing. Four days later my gel manicure is chipping. My hands and feet look pretty much like when I went into to Reve. I cannot say I'd go back. read more

Just took a quick peek at their website, I was thinking of scheduling another appointment soon but I'm dumbfounded at the greed - $100/hour for this, $50 consultation fee for that, 50% deposit for new clients (granted you do get some of these applied towards your services/appointment) but give me a break... this is Northwest Ohio, not New York or Los Angeles and we're talking hair, makeup, and nails, people. I really liked this place but, in the end, my hair looked no better or worse than that of someone who went just about anywhere else. read more

I've used this salon for nail care 2 times. My last visit for a Mani Pedi was my last. This salon is quite a bit more expensive than other salons but I had a gift certificate so I gave it a try. After 2 weeks the polish on my toes began to peel and chip off. I don't do anything like wash dishes or other housework with my feet so a pedicure generally lasts a long time. I contacted the salon to see if they would redo them and they said a flat out NO. Their policy is 7 days for a free redo. Even discussed with the manager and still a NO!!!! I consider this poor customer service for poor product results. Won't be back. read more

They keep deleting my reviews on Google, so I'm making it on here this time. I went here a few times from 2019 to early 2020. The keratin treatments didn't make any difference to my hair and they only spray a few times on your hair in total. Now I will talk about the worst experience I had which made me never go there again and never trust any salon to ever bleach or dye my hair again. I paid $180 for my hair to be bleached from burgundy to platinum blonde. I showed pictures of what I wanted, and explained how I wanted the roots to be darker also like the woman in the picture had. What the stylist (I believe her name was McKenzie) did was only bleach some of my hair and leave streaks of red in it on purpose, and she bleached my roots so they were white instead of the brown root color I showed her. The rest of my hair was very bright orange like a pumpkin. She managed to get the back half of my hair the color of blonde I wanted because she started there, (so the bleach was there the longest), but rushed the top half that people actually can see just because she wanted to go home because the salon was closed-- So she left the bleach on the top half for a very short time. I called the salon back and told them my experience and how unhappy I was. They ruined my hair color and damaged it so badly, but didn't care. The woman at the desk admitted whoever bleached my hair was supposed to finish bleaching my hair even if the salon was closed. I told her about how she left red streaks in my hair on purpose when it's not what I wanted & she said "that's just how she does it." Makes no sense. She would not even offer to have them fix it for free. Dismissing my feelings and trying to change the subject, the woman at the desk just asked me if I wanted to book another appointment to have it bleached another time which I'd have to pay even more money for. Do not ever get your hair bleached here. Your hair will look nothing like the photos you show them and will be extremely damaged. The worst part is no one will show that they care that they messed your hair up & will want to charge you even more money. I had long hair when I went it, and it was so damaged It was breaking all the way to my shoulders. read more

Giant warning to new clients! First-time client. They talked me into going with a higher-priced stylist, Chris, and I agreed to pay over the above the GC amount of $120 for highlights only. Upon booking the appointment, I accidentally wrote down 1:45pm instead of 11:45am. The salon called around noon and stated that since I was not at the appt. that they are charging me for half the job from my gift certificate because I didn't show. This was never explained to me when I booked the appt. I live only 10 minutes from the salon and asked if I could come in right away. The woman said no but I could reschedule. First time trying this salon. I will never go back. They DO NOT want new clients. They ruined my Christmas gift due to a simple error. Heartbroken. I really needed that appointment. They just took $120 from us for nothing and I never even stepped into the salon. I would have been very happy to just be downgraded to a cut instead of a color so I get something for my money. I got a manicure at this salon. My first time here. The location is hands down beautiful. And it's a huge place, three floors! Beautifully maintained and lots of natural light. The staff at the front was very welcoming and helped me find where I needed to be. My manicurist was ok, but the job she did was messy and rushed. I went with the basic manicure and I think it's called the warm lotion manicure. My machine was not working my lotion was cold and the service was rushed and again I had paint out of place on my fingers. It wasn't a very pleasant experience. All in all it ended up costing ~$30 which was not worth it for the service I got. If I wanted smeared polish all over the underside if my nails I would have painted them myself. Spoiler alert: I don't go here for my hair.... on my head. Reve is my go-to Brazilian waxer. Specifically, it's Rachel whom I trust with ripping the hair from my special lady. Surprisingly, not a lot of salons in the area do full Brazilians (which is weird, because they are so fun), only offering bikini waxes. I was somewhat intimidated walking into Reve the first time, it was way fancier than either I or my Gap leggings expected, but everyone was really nice, and the "spa" area is really quiet and chill. The one where you can just make an appointment and come in and they know exactly what you had in mind and offer suggestions of what they can do with your hair to get you looking your best? I have that with Julie. I liked her so much that I even brought my mother and 3 sisters in as clients and they all enjoy her as much as I do. I want to stress exactly how much I am committed to Julie doing my hair. I started seeing her when I was living in NYC. I would come home frequently to visit family and I would get my hair done by her. No one else would touch my hair. Now I live in San Diego. Guess who I still see to do my hair? (However waaaay less frequently.) Julie Carl. She is amazing with color and always has helpful suggestions or treatments for my sun and salt-water damaged hair. I value her product recommendations and know she isn't just trying to up-sale me. She really knows what she is talking about and I know she is constantly educating herself about new techniques in the hair care world. I recently found Carissa who knows how to fix up Asian hair! It's hard to find a hair stylist in Toledo who knows how to cut and color Asian hair. Carissa does both well. I didn't have to give her too much information, but she was able to understand my concerns perfectly. She doesn't chitchat with you too much, which I appreciate because I love to get my hair done in peace. I'm sure if you want to gossip about other people's business, she would have no problem doing so as well. As far as I know, Reve is the only place that offers Balayage in Toledo. This salon may be expensive for Toledo standard, but it's really not bad compared to haircuts I've gotten in Chicago and LA. It also depends on the level of the stylists, but I don't see the need to get a senior stylist when Carissa meets if not exceed my expectations. The people here are courteous and they have specials every month. Be sure to check out their specials on the website. Oh and Carissa recently got promoted! The prices are still very reasonable though. So if you are an Asian girl who is obsessed with her hair but don't know where to turn, Reve is the place to go. read more

I came in today to get a blonde Balayage. I was scheduled with Abby P. I looked up her Instagram so I could see her work before because I was coming from Michigan. Her work on insta looked very promising and pretty so I felt confident. Well that was not the case at all.. my hair came out to a bright yellow brass color. That ugly color was brought all the way up, almost to my roots which is not what I asked for. And the part that's closest to the root it literally looks like I got jacked up highlights that weren't brought up all the way. Totally not blended. I would of said something there if I would of seen it dry there but due to covid19 dryers cannot be used. If you love your hair do yourself the favor and never go here. I didn't know it was possible to botch a balayage so bad. read more

I've been going to this salon for years and seem to never have a problem with the service itself. The problem i've run into is that the past 4 times i've scheduled a hair appointment, they have been cancelled for an "unknown reason" and I have been forced to reschedule. 3/4 times they didn't even call or notify me that my appointment had been canceled and i do not live close. So driving all the way out to Sylvania only to be told your appointment has been canceled is annoying i must say. read more

For starters, the receptionist was very professional and was kind enough to grant me an extra block of time when I told her my hair is extra long and extra thick. She also recommended Christopher when I asked which stylist was best with long hair. I was thrilled with the results. My hair was boring, all one length, and super long and heavy and I needed a major overhaul. He did just that! I walked out with bouncy, light, voluminous, beautifully layered hair!
