This review is for picking up plant-based food from Lucky Mouth Grocery. The pickup location is Revel Workshop, a hair salon. The idea is that you order your food items online. When you get an e-mail saying that your order is ready for pickup, you head over to Revel. I did my order on Saturday night. The grocery is closed Sunday and Monday. The next pickup date is Tuesday. I got my order confirmation on Saturday night. It said that my next e-mail would confirm pickup. I got my second e-mail and headed to Revel on Tuesday before noon. Revel is in a small plaza. I backed into a parking spot and headed in. I spoke to reception. I indicated that I was here to pick up my grocery order and said my name. She couldn't find it and asked if I used a different name. Um, no. She called Adrienne, who owns the grocery store. I got to talk to her on a cell phone. There was lots of weirdness. The receptionist thought my name was Hannah. Mary and Hannah don't sound similar to me at all. She said that my order for pickup wasn't ready. So, why did I get two e-mails? She said that she could drop by in forty minutes and asked whether I wanted to get lunch somewhere so she could drop my order off there. I explained that I'm a visitor and would rather pick up my food before heading to a restaurant. I thanked her for her suggestions. I hung up the phone and let the receptionist know that I'm Mary. I also asked where I could sit down and wait for Adrienne. She led me to the bar area that had four chairs. I also asked if I could use the washroom. The receptionist had a difficult time with washroom, the term. I also said bathroom. Weird. She did eventually point me in the right direction, which was great. I met Adrienne forty minutes later. She apologized. She was nice. She let me know that my food was with receptionist. I thanked her. I went up reception. She asked whether I got my food. I said no. Adrienne advised that the food was with reception. She looked behind her. I saw my Vegan Rob's snacks, said that was my order, got it from her, and thanked her. I was happy to leave. Better communication improvements need to be made. I got my snacks, but it was more of a hassle than I had anticipated. (37) read more

I will not go anywhere else for color. Period. I started seeing Adriana, the owner, almost 9 years ago and she is an absolute magician. She is continuously learning and making sure that her whole staff receives the best education. She is transitioning to a more administrative and educational role and I have started going to Meagan and Kaylee. Both of them have studied under Adriana for years and you can tell. They have each done amazing work on my hair. I'm one of those girls who loves to change it up, and they always do the most healthy, best looking techniques. Worst place ever. I didn't even have a chance to have my hair done here. Their racist practices are beyond words. I was discriminated by their stylist and front desk attendant. I made an appointment to get my hair colored, I did their new customer form and uploaded pictures of how my hair looks like (I have virgin non-blonde hair color, and I'm not white), not 10 minutes after that I received a call saying she didn't want to do my hair and they would cancel my appointment. They didn't offer a reason only saying she didn't have the time for my hair and they didn't have appointments available for me. I know most of the hair dressers there are white blonde chicks who only want to work with their little perfect white customers. This kind of abhorrent practices should be reported, they refuse non-white people services. Just a shame. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I went in to Revel wanting a LIGHT trim to chop off split ends and make my hair darker with some highlights blended throughout. What I ended up with was my hair chopped just above my shoulders and it ended up even lighter than what I went in with. My hair had a weird green hue to it in sunlight, which was even worse. I was really upset so left a negative review after mulling over my hair for a few days, really wanting a refund. The owner told me to contact their manager, so I emailed them and heard nothing, even after I followed up on my initial email. I find it particularly funny how nobody ever responded to help address my concerns but were even quicker to challenge my dispute on the nearly $300 I was charged for my ruined hair. Stephanie is a gem. I poured through Instagram to find stylist's hair portfolio's because I wanted to become a dimensional brunette and I needed to see what they could do with a super dark-haired gal. I found Stephanie and loved her work. I clicked her helpful links and went through the process of getting an appointment with Revel. The price seemed reasonable, and I submitted my hair profile information (a link to a hair questionnaire). I followed up with a front desk girl who was helpful and let me know based on my hair profile and what I wanted, that the stylist quoted me almost double the price (from $178 to 375) for the cut, highlights, balayage and olaplex -needed for the results I wanted. I made the right call and made an appointment the following day. Stephanie was great and despite Revel policy still fit me in when a car sitch made me an hour late. She spoke to me about what I wanted and immediately got to work. I knew it was going to be a marathon session. I was there approximately 5 hours. We chatted and she was kind of quiet, but in a relaxing way. I appreciated not feeling compelled to "tell her everything" (which I don't knock, I literally heard the hairstylist next to me say it to her girl on the chair, good for ya, but not my bag). I also am not a morning person, so I told her I'd be awake after 11 am. I drank the beverage offered to me when I came in and watched LetterKenny with my headphones on. She was super nice and chatted with me every time I took off my headphones and as focused as she was on her work, still checked up on me- offering me a snack or drink or a bathroom break if needed. The place was aesthetically pleasing and the assistants were efficient. The place was constantly swept, everyone was courteous, and James? an apprentice was nice and trained another girl how to wash my hair. He took great care to make sure all the bleach was cleared because it could irritate my skin. Great attention to detail. Stephanie blew dry my hair and asked me what I thought. I hesitated on telling her I thought it was too light but she seemed to know I was struggling with it and asked again. I told her I wanted it browner/warmer/words to make it less blonde and she understood and immediately started fixing it. She didn't make me feel guilty for running over into her next appointment and it was so satisfying when she blew it out again and it was just right. She was happy that I was happy. Seriously, super lovely girl. She gave me her notes on what products we had talked about using for my hair and took some pictures. It was so great to walk out feeling confident about my hair decision. Loved this place!! I was recommended by my sister in law. I saw their Instagram posted a story that they had some openings, I saw this Monday evening and DM'd them and got an appointment for the next day!! Who ever runs their Instagram deserves a raise forreal, I was getting responses in like 3-5 minutes and booked everything through there. For new clients they have you do an in-depth consultation form including pictures of your hair, which is so great. When I came in, front desk girl was SO welcoming and literally everyone smiled at me. Loved that. I was booked for a partial highlight and cut, I had Delia do my highlight (which turned out beautiful!!) and Kaylee do my cut. They were both SO sweet and amazing and always asked me if I was okay and told me everything that they were doing to my hair. I cut like 3-4 inches with Delia as a rough chop cause I was doing highlights first (just how it worked out with their schedules) and Kaylee finished with the length I wanted. I was so happy with the results!! I added a pic of how my hair turned out. Total came out around 230 or something which is pretty normal, Delia added a gloss (pull through so my roots and everything blended) so that was a lil extra but the prices are honestly the same if not a little bit less than other Dallas salons! Where to start. I absolutely love Revel. Adriana, the owner, is regularly present her with pup Paw Rudd. This woman owned and operated salon offers a high-end chic atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Lgbtq+ friendly. You can even pick up your vegan groceries here via Lucky mouth, her newest business venture. I've followed Chantel here from another salon and to say that she's a miracle worker is an understatement. Because of all of her hard work, I feel so comfortable in my own skin and confident in my appearance. My hair always looks incredible and I get compliments nearly every day. She takes the time to show me products that I'll actually use and benefit from, she's never pushy, and I feel like she wants me to live my best life and look amazing doing it. 100000/10, would recommend. The ONLY issue I've ever had is that occasionally the salon is a little overbooked and I've had to wait for a rinse, but I think that's more on behalf their salon management overbooking. read more

Michelle Lieber is amazing at her craft. I moved here from California a few months ago and did extensive research on stylists in the Dallas area. My review is solely on the salon itself and not a reflection of the stylist. If you value quality over quantity in a salon, then this salon is 100% not for you. If the stylist wasn't amazing at what she does, I wouldn't even consider going back, purely based on customer service of the support staff. **The stylist is GREAT. Books up weeks in advance. Everybody wants to see her. I saw her a couple of times at Voss Salon whenever I first moved to Dallas. I loved Voss Salon and was really disappointed she left because the location was great and the service was so excellent. So I book an appointment with her at Revel Workshop at 5pm for just a partial highlight and cut (which they booked me for 2 hours for). The day of, I got held up and texted the salon number that I would be running 5-10 minutes late, to which they said that was fine. I ended up being able to leave the office on time, only to hit a really bad wreck on the highway. I arrived 20 minutes late. I literally ran inside at 5:19 and when I checked in the girl sat me down in the waiting area. It was a good 10 minutes before she came back to let me know they could do my cut but not the highlight because I was 30 minutes late. Of course I argued that, considering I'd been sitting in the waiting area for a decent amount of time. But I said that I would forego the cut and just do the highlight instead... after all, they booked me for 2 hours and a cut and dry would take around that 20-30 minutes. They said they couldn't do that because someone is booked right after me. I didn't understand, and was getting flustered because this is just wasting more and more time. The tall girl at the front with the Pixie cut just absolutely couldn't care less when I said I had a wedding that weekend and I just needed to work something out. In fact, she didn't even look at the computer to see if there was any time to be rescheduled or try to work out a solution. At this point, I'm getting mad because I can't get my hair done and the girl is just shrugging at me. My question to her was if you have a 20 minute limit, why didn't you just rush me back there when I walked in at 5:19? Her response was "well, you said you were only going to be 10 minutes late." My response to that was "Well, why didn't you call and ask if I was still coming?" Isn't that the job of the front desk? My question was directed towards the short haired girl, which of course she didn't have a response to. People are usually driving and can't call or text... Finally the stylist came over and explained that they book someone else while you are processing, and someone else right after that. So basically someone is in and out every hour and you are overlapping with other customers. Now it is 35 minutes late. She pulled out her PERSONAL cell phone to look at other appointments and options. Once again, should have been the job of the short haired girl at the front desk. We couldn't work anything out. I told them to forget it and I left hastily. I guess it's because I've worked in customer service and retail that I get so frustrated with poor customer service, I don't know. But again, I don't hold it against the stylist. She did what she could. Of course, I called Voss Salon and explained the situation and they pulled strings and worked me in with the top colorist that week, because they wanted to keep my business. Of course, the price definitely reflects that, but at some point you have to value the service you get from everyone, not just the stylist, at some point. So I decided to give it ONE more try this week. I called the salon and asked for the stylist's next available appointment in the afternoon. They wanted to book me at 5. I said I can do that, but this was my experience with it last time and it makes me nervous. The girl on the phone seemed a little flustered at my concern and said, "Well, I mean we understand there isn't anything you can do about traffic but we can't do anything about it either. So if you don't want that to happen again, we encourage you to book at a time that you know you won't hit traffic." SUPER reassuring response, right? I told her that wasn't exactly realistic and that not everyone can just take off of work to go to a 2-3 hour hair appointment, which is why I'm trying to book AFTER 5. I didn't book the appointment. I said I needed to think about some things, really meaning was saving $150 worth the headache? Also, the stylist really is THAT good. So I just decided to suck it up and called and asked for the next available 6pm appointment. I'm told that they won't do cuts with highlights that late in the day because that keeps them open later... I can't. I just couldn't. Luckily the nice girl on the phone told me to hold on and she'd ask, before I had a chance to respond. The nice stylist said she would! And now I'm booked. Guess I'll keep y'all updated if they see this and cancel on me... Go see Brittaney - she is AMAZING. Just be warned of the salon itself... read more

I have been with Adrianna (not Adrienne) for almost 20 years now and, in my never to be humble opinion, there is not a more skilled colorist in DFW. Due to my hectic schedule as an executive, I have had color and cut by Meagan recently, who was trained by Adrianna, and she is amazing! I get blonde balayage that has grown out perfectly! Zach has cut my hair several times now and I am always very pleased with the results. I have been growing out my hair, from a few disastrous haircuts done elsewhere, and Zach has been very sensitive, caring, and artful with trimming and shaping what was left of my hair. I had an awful experience here - ruined my hair and has been ruined since my appointment here 9 months ago. My hair bugs me every time I look at it still so I am so frustrated I am coming here, 9 months later to write this. Went in for a balayage and it came out extremely streaky and orange. I told the stylist initially it seemed streaky and we went back to the bowl to fix it, we came out and it was still awful but I had now been there for 4/5 hours and just wanted out. My head was burning and itchy. The color was even worse when I got home and looked in mirror. She did the color and wash with my expensive hand tied extensions still in, and completely ruined them. Hair felt awful texture overall, just dry, weak and brittle. Hair was knotted and ruined walking out of the salon. They offered me a refund when I sent in photos, because they all agreed it was awful, but the damage was already done. It has now been 9 months and I am still trying to get my hair back to normal. My usually stylist is having to strip color to get orange out, which is an expensive and time consuming process, I have to use deep conditioning treatments often which I never had to before, and my expensive extensions are completely destroyed, matted, and twisted. It was awful and I tell everyone NOT to go to this salon. 9 months later and my hair still has not been back to normal since I went to this awful place read more

After spending a bit over $300 I wanted badly to like this salon but I really can't say that I'm happy after my service. I booked appointment with Brittany to do a full blonde balayage, and I left with platinum highlights. I asked her why I only got highlights and expressed that I was not happy with what I got at all, and I was told *afterwards* that going blonde is at least two sessions and is a "process". Now I really DO NOT buy this because I had completely virgin, light brown hair to begin with, that would have *for sure* lightened to platinum in one single process without a problem, and without damage. Be aware before going here that all they want is your money and to keep you coming back for more sessions even if it isn't necessary. I have literally never had a more disappointing experience with a hair salon. First of all, I paid $175 for a partial color and left with wet hair because blowouts are not included with the service... When I got home and blow dried my hair I discovered that it was WAY blonder than I wanted. Not only that, but the color is terrible. There is a huge gap between my scalp and the color so it looks like I have worse grow out than it did before. In my 20 years of getting my hair colored I have never once asked to go back to the salon to get it fixed. However, this time I was so dissatisfied that I called on the afternoon of my appointment and asked if I could get it fixed or toned to make it look more natural. The front desk attendant said it shouldn't be a problem and that she would call me back shortly... Well, that was almost a week ago and I have heard nothing. The entire experience from beginning to end was so bad that I would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere. read more
