The PT's are usually busy with multiple patients and extremely inattentive. They have curtains that don't fully close, which means lack of privacy. The PT's spend a lot of time talking and gossiping with each other, or sitting down at a table working while they have clients. On multiple occasions I finished with an exercise and it took 5-10 minutes for the PT to check on me. Usually I ended left early because I felt like the PT really didn't care and was too busy engaging in conversation with their colleagues. I came to my last appointment on time and the PT was busy eating lunch or something. Not sure she was even there because she didn't come out. They wanted me to start on the elliptical, without checking to see if I still had pain, which I did, and the machine would only exacerbate the injury. I immediately left.

Because my insurance…read moredidn't cover the service I paid $200 and since, unlike most PT's he didn't see another person at the same time, the $200 covered a half hour session during which he did very minimal work but only on me. Twice he assured me that he would send me videos of exercises to do at home in between meets and twice he forgot and I had to remind him. Someone else wrote he was like a magician and if what he did was meant to help me then it surely would have been magic as it was barely anything. I've gone to other PT's and at least I felt something from what they did.

Other PT places I've succumbed to have been marked by tension in the air because the friendliness is superficial, the smiles glued on. Or the young PT staff gave me an exercise with a number of repetitions and then huddled in the corner to talk sports and their recent weekend frolics. Not so here: I feel an improvement and where I used to go home feeling depleted and pessimistic, I walk out of RSPT feeling stronger and hopeful. And aside from the congenial atmosphere, the exercises I've been asked (very sweetly) to do make sense. I don't see other patients given identical routines: the place is more like a cheerful gathering of neighbors (for a common purpose) than a factory. I can't recommend them highly enough! ==================================================== An update. Tomorrow is my last visit of 2025, because Medicare will only cover 28 visits in a twelve-month period. My enthusiasm for this practice and the people in it has only increased. The atmosphere is friendly without artifice, not the professional friendliness of people who would really rather you go away so they can continue chatting about last night's sports event. You might not notice it if you knew me six months ago, but I feel stronger and more mobile. This is not, I assure you, because I religiously do the exercises at home. (Long pause here.) But it is because the people I work with, especially Francy, Melissa, now and again Alex, Hannah, and Annabelle, have understood what exercises might help me and have guided me through them. The pleasantness begins at the front desk: Arlinda, Madeline, Michael -- all genuinely solicitous and humane. I think they understand that people come to PT with a certain amount of pain, impairment, and the accompanying embarrassment. Because of the gentle-spirited, light-hearted owner, Alex Sherman, the feeling of uncritical welcoming acceptance is felt all through the practice. Imagine how happy I was when I came to Evolution and got more than an hour (not a measly 25 minutes!) of pure doting: stretches, exercises, massage, and some great conversation. I continued coming though the full course of my recovery, and was never disappointed. Eva and Krista will stretch parts of you that you didn't know existed, and they'll teach you exercises you couldn't have made up yourself. They'll push you to be active without being too intense. They are attentive and really care about what they do. They're also really encouraging about each step of recovery (literally, in my case), which is crucial when you are having trouble moving/walking/functioning in any way. If you need physical therapy for any reason, I strongly recommend these guys. They're seriously the best!!

I've done PT before--Ray's knowledge, skill, and thoroughness stand out. He takes a functional, whole-body approach, working beyond the knee to address both strength and underlying muscle tightness. His hands-on work, especially deep tissue massage up through the hip, unlocked issues a standard PT routine never did.
