I had a tiling project where I didn't trust myself to be able to properly cut and space the tile around our irregular shower wall. He did such an impressive job and I'm a perfectionist. It truly looks fantastic. You would never know that there isn't a straight angled wall in that bathroom. In addition to our tile project, he also cut and hung our new interior doors, framed in a wall in the back of our laundry room covering a poorly built machinery access. Everything he did was well built, and his trade skills were impeccable. I am notoriously picky about perfection when it comes to finishes, and Jason was a level beyond even my standards. When it comes to customer service, he was very respectful with noise, and the work area was spotlessly clean after he left. Jason also impressed me with his ethics and professionalism. If I was not able to be present for some reason, I would trust him to continue working in my home unsupervised any day. I also knew that any quote I received would not mysteriously change after work began. After 3 attempts, it finally worked. I called B & L to diagnose why my electric bills were so high (unrelated to the hot water heater). Brian not only diagnosed the problem (a setting on my whole house generator), he also discovered the other company's "fix" was to disconnect my fire alarm and use that line for my hot water heater! They really are a "Jack of all trades" business. We've had 2 sliders replaced which included widening the area a bit and a new entry door, tile work done around our fireplace and bar/island area and then brought them back to continue the bar/island tile for a backsplash and the backsplash on the opposite side of our kitchen. Oh yeah, did I mention they paint too. We had our ceiling done to cover up smoke damage from the old fireplace and it looks great! They are an honest company that won't nickel and dime you, his estimates have been super reasonable. We could not be happier with how everything turned out.

I first hired Stephen to put in a shower in a bathroom in a rental house I had bought. He quoted a…read moregood price, and did a reasonably good job. However, he asked me to pay for materials at Home Depot with my credit card. I asked Home Depot for a receipt, and found that he'd also charged a $20 snow shovel, along with some snacks. He also didn't get the correct length of nipple for the faucet, and left me to go find it, install it, etc. And the job came in $200 over the estimate. That wouldn't have been a big deal except for the other items. Since the overall price wasn't bad, I hired him again on another house to install a door between the porch and living room, as well as fixing a toilet issue. He didn't cut the door short enough, and, without asking me, chipped away at the floor to give sufficient room for the door to open. When I was looking at his work, he told me that a thin transition could be placed over the ugly results to make it look better. I took his word for that, but later found that even the thinnest transition wouldn't fit under the door. I contacted him about trimming the door further, and he didn't respond. I asked twice. He hasn't responded, and this was now some weeks back. Again, the price was over the estimate, and this time with a truly unsatisfactory result.

Two workers arrived and ground the stump and repaired the fence. The bill was submitted for $1800 for stump grinding and $500 for fence repair. Neither joSb was completed satisfactorily. I contacted John and he came with a second group that corrected the problems. When asked about the high price for Stump grinding, John gave several explanations that made no sense. After much discussion, he finally agreed to rebate $900 in two weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. He has not responded to my texts and my phone calls to him go to voice mail.

He took $400 off of his quote. Instead of removing branches, the tree was trimmed. Eventually, what was trimmed is going to die and fall. Why would I want a branch with no leaves to stick out. It was also agreed upon that the branches would be cut into sizes that would fit into a fireplace. Needless to say, I will need to fire up my chainsaw to finish the job. Would not recommend this tree service. Two different workers did apologize after we complained about the job. I have a hard time attaching a dollar value on apologies.
