Fortunately we found Dr. Sungmo who was available and boy, we did not know what we were in for. The phrase hurt so good is an understatement. Our visit, which in total was about 2 hours, was the most life changing two hours. It was better than any other massage or Chiro visit we have ever visited. Monday: my low back went out -- I could barely walk. Pain level was 9/10…read more Tuesday: still at an 8. Wednesday: took a 1.5-hour flight to SNA for a family event -- pain back up to 9. Thursday: full-on 10/10 pain. I searched Yelp and found Dr. Balta's clinic. The reviews made me confident he could help, and I was able to get an appointment within a couple of hours. I hobbled in feeling miserable. The consultation with Dr. B was thorough, and he came up with a clear plan: 30-minute massage, stim with an ice pad, and then an adjustment. James gave an excellent massage, really working into the problem areas. After 20 minutes of stim, I went back to Dr. B for the adjustment. He adjusted me gently -- no pain at all. You can tell he has years of experience. When he finished, my pain dropped instantly from a 9 to a 2. What a relief! It slowly crept back to about a 4 later that evening, but I iced and rested and stayed stable. Friday, I made it through a full day of family events -- by the end, pain was down to a 2. Saturday, I woke up at a 1/10. After a few light exercises, I felt almost back to full strength. I even booked a class at F45! Just finished that workout and feel great. Took it easy on back exercises, but wow -- what a turnaround in just a few days. Thank you, Dr. Balta and James, for getting me back on my feet! Highly recommend this clinic to anyone dealing with back pain.
