Charese (the owner) was so cool, knowledgeable and communicative with educating me so that I could make more informed and realistic plans for food and logistics. She was respectful of my simple needs, while also ensuring that expectations were met in order for Revive to make things as fabulous as they do. Leading up to the event, I didn't have to stress or worry because I knew things would be handled. My family and friends raved about the food and the set-up and I couldn't be happier with the result. Looking back at pics from my party, the set-up really heightened the space. I could not give a stronger recommendation to work with Revive should you have any catering needs. Everyday I wish I could tap my heels together and be in New Orleans...but I can't THE SHRIMP & CRAB PO BOY AT REVIVE HAS TO BE THE BEST DAMN PO BOY I'VE HAD OUTSIDE OF NEW ORLEANS... I've had the po boy EVERY TIME I've visited and the mac and cheese is a GRAND addition to the order...I can never eat it all at once though! I will be visiting again (as usual) and I'll try something different and I'm ABSOLUTELY sure I know I will love it! I saw pics of their red velvet waffles and fried chicken on Facebook and then realized I was right in the neighborhood of their location when I was stopping by a boutique. They were having Revive for lunch. I walked over after calling in my order. Great customer service I got the red velvet waffles with fried chicken. It was so fresh I thought it came straight from a local farmer. The Tea was so yummy I had another to take home. They are a take-out only establishment and you have to park on one of the surrounding side streets. For folks who don't do city living that can be a turn off. But the food certainly makes up for what they lack in ambiance. read more

I first had the chicken & red velvet waffles at a Yelp event and made it my mission to visit Revive for some more. The bourbon syrup makes it extra special, but I will say it tasted slightly better at the event. The Revive iced tea, which tastes like a mix of sorrel and iced tea, is a must. read more

Found this place while looking for a bite to eat near the gas station. I really wish this place was metro-accessible or in a more popular area, because this place is AMAZING. Had the shrimp po'boy and sweet tea and both were very good and fresh. Place is very small, so expect to order for pick up (food takes around 15 minutes to prepare). Staff is very friendly, and the shrimp had the right crunch and flavor to really make it shine in the sandwich. Just give this place a go if you're in the area, you won't regret it. read more

This review is for their restaurant. It's a small hole-in-wall where you order from the counter and take home or sit at one of the small stools and eat. I've had two of their sandwiches now and I can honestly say they are the best sandwiches I have ever tasted and possibly some of the best food I've ever had. I live less than 100 yards from them so I hope they never move, but if they opened a store in Adams Morgan or Dupont the line would be a half hour long all day every day. read more

I used Revive to caterer an event for my company's launch party. Charese and Derek were so accommodating, the food was beautiful and the staff was extremely nice. Our numbers jumped from 55 people to 80 the night before the party and they didn't hesitate to add staff and food. I can't say enough about how friendly everyone was. We needed a caterer for our daughter's college graduation brunch in DC, but live in NYC. Finding Revive on Yelp was a godsend! We didn't have to lift a finger. Ok let me just say my over all experience was terrible, no parking, I had to make my way through at least a dozen bums, beggers, and junkies, but i didnt let that stop me because i thought the food would make up for it, not at all, my waffles was soggy and the chicken was extra greasy, and my husbands food was under cooked, not good for a new establishment! read more

I was looking for a place to get healthy, fresh food before an appointment when I stumbled into Revive's Florida Ave location, not realizing that they were not open yet. Lucky for me the chef James was kind enough to offer me some samples of the AMAZING food they had to offer. I sampled a watermelon, mozzarella salad with hints of basil or mint....incredibly refreshing. I also tried one of the cranberry, orange muffins and an amazing chickpea dish with a cucumber salad on the side. I had never seen these unique combinations in a dish before and everything was absolutely delicious. I had come in hungry and left satisfied and light, not overstuffed and heavy. I don't know if Chef James could sense my struggle for a healthy meal or if he is always that kind and generous but I appreciated it and will definitely be back! read more

We had a two-day meeting in DC that we had to organize from Chicago. We wanted to work with a non-chain caterer from a local commercial district. Revive came highly recommended, and I totally understand why! Revive catered for breakfast and lunch for us on both days. The food was delicious and fresh, and everyone we worked with from Revive was responsive, kind, and accommodating. Bonuses - they brought the food and cutlery on beautiful re-usable platters, so there was very little waste.
