Previously they rented out a school to hold their services. We loved the convenience of the Shadow Creek location. The building interior has been renovated into a modern white and black color scheme. The sanctuary is on the small side but was never jam packed, so it was still comfortable. Pastor Manne and his wife Rebecca are very welcoming and approachable. While our family seemed to be a minority at this church, we were never uncomfortable. The church seems to go out of it's way to entice newcomers to their church. Free donuts, coffee, etc. are available prior to service. Welcome gifts are given out for first time guests after service as well as an unexpected gift sent in the mail. The first Sunday of the month, a special luncheon is provided to help people learn more about their church. Clearly, money is being spent to attract new members. Unfortunately, after only 7 weeks, we realized that this church was not the right fit for us, our family and our beliefs. We wish the best for The Connect Church.

That was a good 7 years ago, he helped me when I was dealing with a hard time in my life. 7 years ago I never thought I would have the opportunity to see his sermon in person all the way in Houston, Texas. But there he was this morning flesh and blood! I really couldn't believe I actually made it to Lilly Grove. The sermon was wonderful as always. The church is beautiful, and I finally got to hear Rev Anderson say "I wish I had a Witness" LOL. I'll be stuck in Houston for awhile, and anytime I'm not working on Sundays, I'll be sure to come to Lilly Grove! Side note: On their website they also state they do sermons on Wednesdays at noon.

I'm a transplant to the Houston-Area, so when I can't get home to celebrate holidays, I know there is always someone here inviting me into their home. There are so many activities for people of all ages to be involved in. My kids have Sunday School and the Youth program, I can be busy in a Small Group and there are programs for older adults as well. Oh, and let's not forget the actual church service!!! Pastor Scott Cummings is great at giving sermons based on themes that keep you coming back every Sunday. He is an awesome spiritual advisor who will pray with you in times of trouble and joy. He hangs-out with the congregation and really gets to know each and every person that comes through the doors. That's one of my favorite things about this church.

I attended the 9:30 am service and 11am bible study so this is what I've observed and experienced at those specific times. You might have a different experience from what I had at depending on the time you go! For starters, the worship building was beautiful! Walking around this campus was super overwhelming though. I got lost trying to find my friend here because it's HUGE. I got here about 10 minutes before the service started but did not have trouble finding a good seat. Worship was about an hour long; 15 minutes of singing and about 45 min of preaching. I really liked Ben Young's style of teaching; I truly felt like I was being taught rather than the propensity preaching that most megachurches present. Their bible study sessions was also great; I could be there all day listening to the lady teach. I really regret not bringing my bible and taking notes. Although this was a great church to attend, I personally don't think it is the right fit for me. Cons: Mega-Church Lack of young people Lack of diversity (in my opinion) Pros: Multiple worship/bible study times Lots of organizations/groups to be apart of Beautiful campus

Josh Sharpe the Lead Pastor took great care to get to know us and took the time to build a relationship with us. Our family has attended a few church around the area and while no church is perfect this is the first one we've found that does it right. Its true a Man friendly, family first church that treats the scriptures correct and truly teaches the Bible one verse at a time. Help us to understand what its says, what it means and what we're supposed to do because of it. We became members back and 2021 and we truly feel at home. If you're looking for the "perfect church" this is not the place for you but if thats what you're looking for you'll never find it. Churches are ran by people and all people are flawed. If you're looking for a church that truly teaches the Bible, takes discipleship seriously, and acts like the church should, then come check out a service. I fell on hard times & I do mean hard times.My 15 year old son (at the time) & I had to resort to sleeping in my car.I went to the church with my son & spoke with a particular individual. (I will not name that individual because GOD knows who he is & I am sure that he could NEVER forget my son & I.)I tearfully shared my situation with this man as embarrassed as I was & needless to say we were told that there were no funds available to assist with housing or any other type of financial assistance.Although he did offer Bethel's Food pantry.I looked at him with this hole in my soul & said to him isn't there a Benevolence Fund?I know there has to be one. I have given to it myself for years.I said I have been a faithful member of this church.My son & I are homeless & there is nothing you all can do to help me?He said...No.He then gave my son & I a list of homeless shelters.I was in shock, hurt,devasted,and most of all humiliated.The one place I thought I could turn to turned me away.I looked at him in his eyes with my own full of tears and said Thank you for your time and GOD bless you.We walked out of there & have never returned & never will. He did tell us that he would call us to "check" on us & that call never came.I was so distraught that I contemplated suicide.My son & I slept in my car in a Planet Fitness Parking lot for the next three weeks.Going inside in the evenings so he had somewhere to do his homework.Then going inside in the mornings to shower & off to school he went & off to work I went.(I had paid for a 6 month membership in the beginning of that year).I never gave up hope,I stayed in prayer & was able to get in another place.I would like to make something very clear.Pastor August is a man that was put on this earth to do exactly what he is doing & he is an amazing pastor. I truly believe that if he knew how my son & I were turned away like that he wouldn't have been pleased. And no I did not contact him or anyone else at the church. I was too humiliated after sharing my personal journey with that person only to be told I couldn't be helped I just couldn't do that again.The reason I am sharing my story on this beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon is to tell anyone that is struggling with something there is a light at the end of the tunnel.And just be careful who you invest your time,faith,money,& energy in not everyone or everything has your best interest at heart.One last thought before I go.NEVER & I MEAN NEVER EVER place your faith in man he will always disappoint you.But always trust in GOD he never sleeps & will always see you through. BE BLESSED!!!!
