That was a good 7 years ago, he helped me when I was dealing with a hard time in my life. 7 years ago I never thought I would have the opportunity to see his sermon in person all the way in Houston, Texas. But there he was this morning flesh and blood! I really couldn't believe I actually made it to Lilly Grove. The sermon was wonderful as always. The church is beautiful, and I finally got to hear Rev Anderson say "I wish I had a Witness" LOL. I'll be stuck in Houston for awhile, and anytime I'm not working on Sundays, I'll be sure to come to Lilly Grove! Side note: On their website they also state they do sermons on Wednesdays at noon.

I attended the 9:30 am service and 11am bible study so this is what I've observed and experienced at those specific times. You might have a different experience from what I had at depending on the time you go! For starters, the worship building was beautiful! Walking around this campus was super overwhelming though. I got lost trying to find my friend here because it's HUGE. I got here about 10 minutes before the service started but did not have trouble finding a good seat. Worship was about an hour long; 15 minutes of singing and about 45 min of preaching. I really liked Ben Young's style of teaching; I truly felt like I was being taught rather than the propensity preaching that most megachurches present. Their bible study sessions was also great; I could be there all day listening to the lady teach. I really regret not bringing my bible and taking notes. Although this was a great church to attend, I personally don't think it is the right fit for me. Cons: Mega-Church Lack of young people Lack of diversity (in my opinion) Pros: Multiple worship/bible study times Lots of organizations/groups to be apart of Beautiful campus

The service lasted about an hour and 15 min. I thought the singing in the beginning was nice (very big group), but after 15-20 minutes I was kind of over it; felt like I was at Lakewood. Once the praise & worship was over, pastor Gregg started to preached and I was pleased with what was getting preached. I was there to learn, and pastor Gregg's sermon did exactly that. Excellent Pastor! Cons: Megachurch, lack of diversity, A L O T of singing. Pros: Clean, Pastor Greggs teaching.

Classes have lost the personal connection they once had. Good leaders have left, and been replaced by apathetic leaders, who can't be bothered to even spell check what they make. This is kind of a delicate thing to say, but (I think) we were the only two white people in a church full of African Americans and we couldn't have felt more welcomed, wanted, and comfortable. Previously they rented out a school to hold their services. We loved the convenience of the Shadow Creek location. The building interior has been renovated into a modern white and black color scheme. The sanctuary is on the small side but was never jam packed, so it was still comfortable. Pastor Manne and his wife Rebecca are very welcoming and approachable. While our family seemed to be a minority at this church, we were never uncomfortable. The church seems to go out of it's way to entice newcomers to their church. Free donuts, coffee, etc. are available prior to service. Welcome gifts are given out for first time guests after service as well as an unexpected gift sent in the mail. The first Sunday of the month, a special luncheon is provided to help people learn more about their church. Clearly, money is being spent to attract new members. Unfortunately, after only 7 weeks, we realized that this church was not the right fit for us, our family and our beliefs. We wish the best for The Connect Church.

Peace Presbyterian is a great church! I went to visit a year and a half ago and became a member…read morewith my family (single mom) about a year ago. The congregation starts out friendly and has grown to become like a family to me. I'm a transplant to the Houston-Area, so when I can't get home to celebrate holidays, I know there is always someone here inviting me into their home. There are so many activities for people of all ages to be involved in. My kids have Sunday School and the Youth program, I can be busy in a Small Group and there are programs for older adults as well. Oh, and let's not forget the actual church service!!! Pastor Scott Cummings is great at giving sermons based on themes that keep you coming back every Sunday. He is an awesome spiritual advisor who will pray with you in times of trouble and joy. He hangs-out with the congregation and really gets to know each and every person that comes through the doors. That's one of my favorite things about this church.
