My son played in Men's Doubles 4.0 on Saturday and Mixed Doubles 4.0 on Sunday and did quite well, so that made the 15ish hours spent there worth it! The facility is clean and spacious with 16 indoor courts, some private rooms, a weight room, a retail area, some light snacks, water refill stations, etc... The staff was friendly and there was plenty of parking. It's a bit of a drive for us but if it were closer, we'd definitely play here more often!

The ASC is one of the cleanest, well kept facilities I've ever played in. Very simple, two fields inside, one outside (still indoor style). I don't really care to play on the outdoor field however, due to the fact that the walls are lower, and the netting doesn't surround the entire field, so the ball goes out of play alot and sometimes you have to chase it pretty far. The indoor and outdoor nets in the goals could stand for a bit of patching up as well, as the ball is constantly going right through them. I'm also not a big fan of the fact that on top of the team fee (which is average, not overly pricey), you are forced to pay a $50 annual membership fee AND each team has to pay the refs $10 before each game! This is the first facility I've played in that didn't pay their own referees; instead they rely on the teams (who've already forked out quite a bit of money to be there in the first place) to pay them. Those few complaints aside, I love the game, and the fact that I drive from downtown Phoenix to play here should make it pretty obvious that it's worth it to me!

The…read more"Recreational" league is the most misleading and chaotic: it's packed with higher league players, some as skilled as League B (three leagues higher). Players who can barely juggle the ball 10 times end up facing opponents who can pull off an Elastico or a Rainbow Flick with ease. As a result, scores like 15-0 are not surprising here. This mismatch isn't just no fun for beginners -- it's also unsafe. Almost any collision with a higher level player risks injuring a beginner. Teams that win their league are rarely moved up to the higher league, as would be expected. Most refs here don't seem to know the rules; I've seen a ref show a red card and still keep the player on the field because "he's the goalkeeper." Many refs treat their job as simply calling outs and goals, while overlooking as many dangerous fouls as possible. Refs are paid by the players, but they seem to have little incentive to actually protect them. Sportsmanship varies wildly by team. Some are respectful and play with good etiquette, while others are the opposite. Brutal and careless fouls during the last few minutes of a match, in non decisive situations when the score is something like 10-0, are culturally acceptable here. Many higher league players who happen to play in the Rec league also show open arrogance and contempt toward true recreational level opponents in that league. There's also a bizarre "tradition" at this facility: when a team builds a huge lead, they'll often leave their own goal empty and get their goalkeeper to try to score, just to flaunt their dominance and taunt the other team. The one genuinely good thing about this place is the quality of the fields, but that's where the good things end.

We loved her coach and they put her on a predominantly girl team (which she loved) with a girl coach. I wish that I was able to do this with my older daughter because she strongly disliked the co-ed team where she was almost always the only girl. I love that there is no pressure for a parent to volunteer to coach and the coaches are actually experienced. The practices are always very organized and fun. The kids are learning and definitely enjoying the activities. I have read a negative review and I am sure there are bad seed coaches everywhere but we LOVE our coach, she is friendly and engaging. We will definitely continue to go through North Valley Soccer Club.

When researching different clubs, all the mega machines kept coming up but after a couple of tryouts with those clubs we were feeling a little unsure that we really wanted to allow our then 10 year old to give up bring a kid, and have to fork out thousands in club fees, uniform costs, and to top off crazy travel costs. From day one it was evident that all the coaches were concerned with not only attracting talented players who already had a lot of skill but also on continuing to develop these players.
