There is no point denying the truth; Brazilian waxes hurt like a *$&#%! I am so confused by and envious of people who say it doesn't hurt. But, Rewaxation does the best they can to make you feel comfortable throughout an awkward and unpleasant process. I've been to both the Divisadero and Bush locations and seen Erin and Gabriella. Both have been great, patient, and understanding of my desire to "stop stop stop, I need a break please" process. It always feels very clean inside and I continue to come back for more. Great place in the nabe! I took my birthday off from work and getting some personal grooming done was at the top of my list. I found Rewaxation on Yelp and called the main number. The person who does their calls is the real MVP! I called at 6:20pm and she was able to schedule me at 6:55pm for brows. I really appreciated them working with me last minute. I live nearby and got there in about 10 minutes. The space itself is narrow and has rooms to the right. Mel, the esthetician who took care of my brows was wonderful, professional and very friendly! For $20, I got perfectly shaped brows. She also let me know that if I book again within 4 weeks, the price drops 20% which is a great way to make me a regular here! First time here. Called early and was able to get an appt 15 mins later. Not knowing what to expect I walked into the long corridor and sat myself on the bench and waited for someone to come get me. A lady finished up and not long after I was getting my waxing. Was nice enough and appreciated being seen last minute. Unfortunately, during the process she told me I had some "lifting." I asked her what that meant and she explained my skin was irritated and would probably go down in 2 days. Wasn't until I got home to see just above my eye lid was red and swollen. Started to feel like what I'd describe as a rug burn. Hurts to the touch and burns when I blink. Not sure what happened there. Ouch. Just before the holiday parties. Yay! Updated 11/29/18: Removed a star. One day later and woke up to my eye super swollen and now that burning sensation more intense. Also, I see small scabs and nicks where she took off skin. Not a very nice experience. I've had a number of wax services, primarily at nail salons believe it or not, and never have I experienced this. So ironic, as this place "specializes" in waxing. I hate writing bad reviews but this was definitely the worst Brazilian wax I've had and some of the worst customer service I've experienced. Starting with service: this was my first time coming here. I've been to a ton of different places for Brazilian waxing so this wasn't my first rodeo. The lady came out to bring me back in and didn't even say hi when she came out, so I wasn't even sure if she was the Waxer or another customer but then she kind of awkwardly said my name so I knew she was coming for me. Then she walked me back and basically just said "undress and I'll be back". Now usually when you go somewhere for the first time, you get a whole speech about it and whoever is doing it is very warm and welcoming cuz Brazilian waxes are very awkward experiences, but I got none of that. Wasn't even sure which way to lay on the table. The whole rest of the wax she barely said a word. Made no efforts to make me feel comfortable or welcome whatsoever. Didn't even tell me her name so I have no idea who to reference in this review. Wax: overall it was pretty painless except for the fact that she kept pulling the wax off too soon and had to yank multiple times. Additionally, I have sensitive skin, so I am prone to irritation, and have no known allergies to anything, but afterwards she said "so it is pretty irritated" to which I responded, "yeah that's common for me because I have sensitive skin", and she gave me a tissue with oil to rub off excess wax (which I've never experienced before). Once she left, I looked down and was fully broken out in hives all over my pubic area. I've never had hives on that like my body EVER. I do have eczema but I'm not allergic to anything. I was very concerned, so took some pictures for reference. There really wasn't anything I could do, so I just walked out and told her I've never seen anything like this (in a friendlier manner than I should have been in retrospect) and asked if I could get the ingredients list, and she called people to try to figure it out but could not, however she did know that they make their own wax. She told me that someone would follow up with me about the ingredients and that they would check in on me to make sure I was taken care of, and I waited two days for that to occur before writing this review but never heard a word. Additionally, I had wax leftover EVERYWHERE. Occasionally when I get waxed other places I will have a few spots of wax left over, but I had to bathe afterwards to soak the wax off because there was that much. She also missed pretty much my entire bikini line on my left side and normally I would go back to have this fixed because you pay so much for this, but don't want to have a full blown allergic reaction again. All in all, terrible experience. read more

She is so easy to talk to you and makes me feel like we have known each other for years, so like I said I just got married and I wanted to try out the spray tan to see what it was like before the wedding, also I wanted to get the Brazilian, Gabriella was super sweet, efficient, and very knowledgeable about the waxing and spray tan process, I have now been a regular client if Gabriella's for almost three months and I will continue to go back! I got my first ever brazillian/sugaring with Nicole two months ago and have gone back for my repeat so I've been here twice so far. For my third month I tried a different place to get waxed just to try out and see if there was a difference. Boy..I am never going any place else ever again! Compared to this other place I tried, Nicole at Rewaxation was way gentler, quick yet thorough and I'm not placed in weird positions while getting waxed plus there was not much pain or irritation afterwards, whereas my recent experience at a different salon- I'll just say i was a little traumatized and the pain and experience throughout was kind of how I imagined my first brazillian wax to go (my first time at Rewaxation was not as nerve racking and much less painful!). My eyebrows are ruined before an event this weekend. I went for a full body wax at the Bush location. The person who did my wax is Erin, she's incredibly sweet. The staff is friendly. But she ruined my beautiful thick eyebrows: I specifically asked for my eyebrows to just be cleaned up and not have the shape changed, but I ended up with incredibly thin eyebrows and one is much much thinner than the other, it will take months to fix. Then i woke up this morning with so many little pimples around my eyebrows, it's terrible. The rest of the waxing was good. But now every time I look at my face in the mirror I'm upset about my terrible eyebrows. Nothing will fix that. I tipped and said nothing but I'm so angry and upset and not sure what to do. I wasted two hours trying to figure out what to do with these eyebrows. I don't recommend this place or Erin. It's hard to fix eyebrows. And I was very specific and clear in my instructions. read more

I got my upper lip waxed here. Normally I wax myself and I never have any problems when I do that. But right now I don't have a microwave to heat up the wax in my new apartment. So I booked this service at ReWAXation. I specified that I did not want to be irritated, as I have been left with a rash on my face in the past. My esthetician was not reassuring. I also told her to stay away from my cheeks, as they are sensitive. And she made comments about me being too picky.
