I got my upper lip waxed here. Normally I wax myself and I never have any problems when I do that. But right now I don't have a microwave to heat up the wax in my new apartment. So I booked this service at ReWAXation. I specified that I did not want to be irritated, as I have been left with a rash on my face in the past. My esthetician was not reassuring. I also told her to stay away from my cheeks, as they are sensitive. And she made comments about me being too picky. When I got home, I still had hair on my upper lip and could barely tell the service had been done at all. read more

This company policy makes it difficult for people who are trying to squeeze in an appointment between work meetings. This place is located in a very tiny space, but it's warm and quiet once you get inside. Alex was super kind, and she was very detailed for my appointment. She made sure that I was satisfied with my wax and even took out the tweezers to get stray hairs. Prices are fair, and the place is clean! What more can you want? I was looking for a last minute appointment (for a Monday), and found that 80% of the places in SF don't open on Mondays, and one or two that opened but only till 4 pm. Luckily, I stumbled across this gem of a place on Yelp, and they take online bookings (extra points), so no need for awkward, whispered bookings over the phone during work. I was drawn in by all the great reviews, and the $30 first-time client special and figured I'd take a chance. Totally worth it - I'll basically be back here every 4 weeks for a $40 Brazilian (your repeat visit is $40 if you come within 4 weeks of your last appointment). Shay was super nice, made me feel relaxed and comfortable. I liked that she used the hard wax which was much less painful than soft wax. It was also way less irritating on my skin (no bumps, no redness). It was really the least painful wax I had, and also one of the best and thorough ones. My boyfriend also said it was the best one I've gotten. She takes credit cards via Square, has discounts for regulars, has online bookings, has great technique so that it's relatively painless, and gives the best waxes I've found in SF - I think I've found a winner. read more

I first came here when they were across the street and got sugared. It was a really seamless and quick experience! Although the rooms were small, they were clean and stylish, and my waxer was very nice and friendly. i came here for the second time just a few weeks ago to their new location and it's amazing! it's just across the street so still very convenient for me, and they're being SUPER safe during covid. they put up a plastic sheet between us while she was waxing me, and we wore masks the whole time. she even had me sanitize my hands as soon as i walked in. overrall, it was a nice experience. this time i did the wax instead of sugar, and i am happy to report that they wax just as well as they sugar :) go check them out! and support your local small businesses read more

First time since SIP that I've gotten waxed, so I was definitely a little nervous, even though I've been a regular hard waxer for years. My esthetician was very professional, and the space was very clean, she knew both waxing and sugaring which I've never tried. She did a great job and I've never had so few ingrown hairs. Sugaring is the way to go if possible, longest time until hair regrows and lowest number of ingrown ever. The rooms had an open ceiling, meaning that the walls of the room went up but didn't go all the way up to the ceiling, equaling lots more air flow than in traditional spa rooms, feeling much safer. Came here for a wax and was really pleased with the results. reWAXation uses the hard wax, which makes it significantly less painful. Janessa was my esthetician and she had a great personality and was a wonderful conversationalist! Absolutely no awkwardness. The location is very clean - Janessa wore gloves, never double dipped, and there are several treatment rooms. The only thing that was a little different was that the walls for the rooms didn't go up to the ceiling, so the environment wasn't super calm since noise from the hall could be overheard, and it didn't feel as private as some other places that I've been to that really make you feel more isolated. That being said, it still felt private, and wasn't an issue for me, so would definitely come back! read more

Finding an affordable place in SF to get a wax was so difficult. So...thanks to Yelp coupons! Me being a sucker for Yelp reviews and comments, I had to check this place out by recommendation from a friend out here. Such a small place, but just right for what needs to be done. Nothing super extravagant. I felt so bad, because I was running late for my appointment, but they give you some room from your scheduled time to get there, because you're no longer able to be seen. I'm really bad at names, so I can't remember my lady. I'd like to say it was an okay experience. It was a little awkward at first...kinda had to force a little conversation for a bit. We survived though. I'd come back when I need to. :) By far the top wax finishes from the ones I've gotten in the past. She definitely made sure she cleaned up as much as she could! :) read more

I am writing an update because I sent a private message to follow up on their reply on my review. I really want to reiterate to folks out there, if you're on the fence, don't go here. My experience just continued to get more frustrating. The shop's public response said, "We are going ahead and refunding your service from Saturday because if it were something we had noticed, we wouldn't have continued the service and we most definitely wouldn't have charged you for it." This was a misleading thing to say that would be seen by other Yelpers. It makes them seem like they were proactive and refunded me. Nope! Not the case. I had paid cash for both the service and tip - I don't know how they would have gone ahead and refunded me. They didn't. I mentioned this in my private message to them, and only at that point did they say to come by the salon in order to get my refund. They also still did not claim any responsibility. Any way you interpret this situation, it is extremely disappointing - either the esthetician didn't even notice (in which case, that's scary and unbelievable because it was very visible), or they noticed and still charged me (in this case, such horrible business practices). Stay away - there are so many other places in San Francisco and even specifically Nob Hill where you can have a safe, comfortable experience and walk away with exactly what you'd expect. read more

I was honestly hesitant to come to this place because I got my first one done at another location and it left me red, raw, and aching for three days after... and it wasn't worth it because it was super patchy! This was the first place I started getting regular waxes and it's been great. All the staff (especially Gabriella and Erin!) has been incredibly friendly and helpful as someone new to waxing (and now sugaring). They helped me understand the difference between the two and which is best for my body. They're also quick and efficient which is always appreciated. First of all, this is the most appropriate location for a waxing salon ever- Bush street?! I'm probably more amused than I should be. Second, this is the only place I know of in the city that doesn't charge more for sugaring than waxing. I'm a believer in sugaring, which is the removal of hair using only sugar, water and lemon- natural ingredients only. It absolutely hurts more (don't say I didn't warn ya), but also seems to cause less irritation and fewer ingrown hairs than waxing because it pulls in the direction of hair growth instead of against. For those reasons, I'm willing to bear with the pain, but I wouldn't try it until you're already comfortable with waxing. I've also tried waxing here and the usual rules apply- they use hard wax and never double dip. Seriously, you'd think that goes without saying to maintain good hygiene, but I've been to a place in Berkeley that doesn't use a new stick after each time it touches someone's private parts, and I had to peace tf outta there real quick. The 20% discount for returning within 4 weeks is amazing, and you can get $5 off for referring a friend, and/or liking their Facebook page. A good discount just makes me so happy. I love spending money to save money. read more

This is a no frills place with great service and quick efficient waxing. I was surprised at how little this hurt in comparison to my usual. I was in and out in 10 minutes and everything was great! Cynthia was super nice and easy to talk to and did a wonderful job. She even gave me some great tips! If you are looking for an efficient, less-painful and thorough experience - I would highly recommend this place! I was very pleased with their covid protocols and everything felt very safe - no waiting inside, lots of hand sanitizer, lots of sanitizing between clients, and a clear vinyl curtain between you and the aesthetician for Brazilian waxes. I have learned the hard way to wait a few days before assessing the quality of a wax hair removal. A week after going to reWaxation for a full brazilian, I can confidently say that Nicole is amazing! I don't know how she did it, but she was thorough, no broken hairs are growing back, and my skin is not irritated at all. Absolute perfection, and the regrowth is acceptably smooth and soft. Also, Nicole herself is a gem - sweet and upbeat, friendly, professional, calming. The space itself is large, airy, and impeccably clean, and I like the setup with the plastic sheeting that provides more protection for the esthetician and the client. I've been coming here for Brazilian waxes since I moved to the city, and everyone I've gone to is amazing! This time around I got a betweenie + eyebrow wax. I was nervous as hell about my eyebrows because I don't trust too many people with them, but LEMME TELL U. Artrecia (who's there on Sunday/Monday!) is soooo good w eyebrows! She cleaned my brows up so nicely and helped reshape my little wonky brow + she's so sweet. Ive already recommended this spot for waxes but also 10000% recommend Artrecia for eyebrows specifically.
