    Hello happily engaged couple, We understand where you are…read moreright now in the process. You're excited about the engagement, and the thought of your upcoming wedding. Congratulations. We also know however, that the more you Google looking for answers, the more questions you have! Even if you have a venue, you now need to worry about seating charts, timelines, hairstylists, weather, forest fires, COVID, cleanup- oh my! "Do I even need a wedding planner?" may even be a question that you are pondering- and that is ok! The good news is, this review that you are reading is the review you need. As partners, we were asking ourselves these same questions. In hindsight, we would have been stupid to not hire Terri/Events Extraordinaire. Should you simply care about the bottom line, then skip the rest of this review and just hire her already! If you are interested to know why, please see below. Although one of us was skeptical in the value of a wedding planner, I can assure you that Terri's actions and efforts were invaluable in making our day perfect. From the very first meeting, we were relieved at the methodic approach Terri takes to wedding planning. Your first meetings are simply getting to know each other and learning what the couple wants to achieve with the wedding. Terri fairly listened to both of our ideas and provided unbiased feedback and guidance. These little nudges compounded to big decisions which encouraged us along the wedding planning process. Speaking of the process, Terri has one. She has timelines, 'day of' agenda's, and planning deadlines that keep not only the couple, but also your vendors on track! Although you may expect the planning process to go smoothly, just as we had, of course life happens. We had a serious issues with one of our main vendors (That we found before working with Terri) the month before the wedding. We promptly referenced Terri's pre-supplied vendor list and found someone who was more budget friendly, that produced fantastic results. Then, just one week before the wedding, the HMUA dropped out (crazy we know!). Terri picked up her personal cell phone that same day, to step in, and spent the evening with us hunting down alternates. To us, Terri felt like another family member with all of the right tools in her tool box to help us navigate the complex nuances of wedding planning. On the day of the wedding, we hardly noticed Terri- and I mean that in a good way! Seamlessly behind the scenes, our wedding day and timeline panned out about as perfect as it could be. This letter is a testament to her process, value, and care in wedding planning. Lina stepped up for us and helped put together a FANTASTIC party. She transformed a businesslike boardroom into a magical place for a ceremony. She provided the tables, chairs, curtains, most of the decorations, and did the floral pieces as well. She coordinated with our vendors and helped make the ceremony and luncheon one that my parents and their guests will remember forever. In addition to all the setup and coordination, she suggested a photo booth that would print out photos right there that all our guests enjoyed. We could not have done it without her and would gladly recommend her to anyone.

Once we eventually got our photos back we could see just how badly she had done. She used fake flowers when we paid for real, used the literal cheapest decor everywhere possible. We were sold a dream and were left with unlit tacky candles, plastic walls, exposed sand bags and BARE minimum decor. Practically everything she did for us was CHEAP and TACKY. She lied to us about having "a team" when it was just her husband and son that evening. When we reached out for a refund she agreed (clearly she knew she didn't do a good job) but when it was time to pay us she ghosted us for a year despite multiple efforts. Stay far away!!!

Maya is simply the best. Her coordinating skills are fine tuned and I felt incredibly comfortable with her from the minute we met her 10 months before the wedding. She helped create the perfect wedding for us. She has incredible attention to detail and she handled so many things that I'm sure I am not even aware of everything she did behind the scenes. It was flawless. Kris and her staff at Lunch Lady Catering did an amazing job on the menu (see my review on Lunch Lady Catering). The food was perfect!!! Shonna put together a beautiful display of flowers for us. The floral theme was beautifully elegant for our small wedding. I didn't want to let go of my bouquet!!! I would definitely recommend Belles and Whistles for any event (especially a wedding!!!). They took the stress completely out of planning my wedding and allowed me to enjoy every minute of it, from start to finish!

There was also coffee in the room and a full coffee/tea bar in the dining area. The facility had a library den full of interesting titles, puzzles, and games. We LOVED the breakfasts. The menu included many choices: french toast, waffle, omelet, potatoes, veggies, eggs to order, bacon, toast, english muffin and fruit. The portions were extremely generous! The staff were all great including owner Michael who was very attentive to questions we had. We've also stayed at another of his properties (The Victoria Inn) which was also lovely. We definitely plan to be back and I can hardly wait! While we were in the area we ate at Jesus' Restaurant (Mexican across the street), Firewood (delicious pizza), and coffee at Aria. We also enjoyed hard cider at Indigeny Reserve! I definitely recommend staying at the Dunbar!

    We got married here!…read more Shopping for venues can get discouraging with food and beverage minimums, extra charges and back-to-back weekend weddings where they kick you out the next day. This place is a cozy, green oasis in one of the cutest towns in America, and the value is incredible. They let us have the run of the place for the whole weekend while we hosted and set up. The staff made it feel like home -- such kind and lovely people. Breakfast for our wedding party was included. Anything we asked for, they made it happen, and we were able to control every aspect of the event: bar, catering, etc. Another perk I didn't anticipate was a 360 view of the venue from the bridal suite, which allowed me to keep an eye on everything while I was getting ready. The suite is basically an apartment, with a full kitchen we were able to cater our rehearsal dinner out of. Most of our guests were able to stay the weekend and walk to the venue from their hotels (they make it easy with their sister hotel the Victoria Inn and associated rentals). Our wedding was a dream that we're sad to wake up from. If this place calls to you, do not hesitate to book.

My problem was I had no idea if I'd have 30 or 100 guests and I just moved here and had zero connections and a few bad experiences with local companies not calling back. Not long after I handed the planning over to someone who lived 3 hrs away and hoped everything would fall into place. When I went to her showroom months later to pay Genice spent time showing me all the treasures she had to throw parties from vintage crystal luncheon trays to mismatched silverware. I could tell she was someone that truly loved helping others figure out what they like and then gets joy out of helping them make their dreams come true. The night of my birthday party Genice and her team were hired to help serve and clean up. But Genice went beyond this... Several times she was seen scooping someone up by the arm and leading them to the dance floor. She wanted to make sure everyone was having fun. She helped me be a better host which was so unexpected. She has a contagious smile and a warm personality. She has chosen the right business and I wish her all the success in the world. I would definitely give Genice a call or text if you're planning a party of any size and prepare to be impressed!!

She made sure i had everything and kept it organized. We had a great time laughing and keeping things light so there was no stress. I recommend her services and rentals for any event.     Ryan and Sound Extreme were amazing!! We hired Ryan (the owner) as the DJ for our wedding at Rush…read moreCreek Lodge on November 2nd and it could not have gone better! The planning process was very organized and Sound Extreme's online planning tool was so helpful in choosing all of the special songs (first dance, processional, etc). We had two skype/facetime meetings with Ryan before the wedding to go over details (event order, special songs, what to expect, etc) and we had no doubts that everything would go smoothly. I didn't worry about it at all on the day of the wedding, and knew I could trust Ryan and his team (including Sarah, the mirror photobooth attendant) to be there, on time, and do their job. Ryan was very attentive both after the ceremony (he even brought us water afterwards) and during the reception. He totally kept the party going and several people complimented us on having such a fun wedding. Ryan surprised us with fun lights and glowsticks during the dancing portion of the reception, and we had the most amazing time. Ryan is a professional, and we put the music in his very capable hands. We included songs on our must play, play if possible, and do not play lists, and asked that he use his professional judgment in selecting what to play. We're so happy we did this, and if we ever need a DJ in the future we know who we're going to call!!! I would highly recommend that you hire Ryan for your wedding or special event!

You…read moreaddressed the photo booth operator's attitude in a defensive manner, but incessantly fail to accept that THIS particular photo booth did not function properly. I never said anything about ALL your booths. The screen was black. Look into it, and stop blaming me for concocting lies. Getting one more turn in the photo booth after two sessions is not that serious. Also, I blurred the images to protect the identities of those in the photos. The album is "private". It's not cool to post pictures of people without their knowledge. It's funny you think I was trying to pass it off as a photo from your booth though. The purpose was to illustrate the heads cut off. I could get more, but my point has been proven. This is on principle. You accused me of lying in the first response. So I responded with "new fervor". I was simply a guest at this event expressing my dissatisfaction and voicing that of the other guests. Continue to negate responsibility though. At this point, I'd most definitely not recommend any other of your services knowing this is how you handle customer disappointments. Not cool Ryan, to publicize photos of customers who opted for a "PRIVATE" album. It definitely proves your original claim was untruthful though. Mission complete!
