We bought the double scoop experience (comes with ice cream test lab) and obviously that was the highlight of the place! The test lab is about 45min experience and the whole thing with self-guided tour takes about 1hr 30min to 2 hours depending how crowded it is. The visit was fun and of course my 5-year-old daughter had a great time eating tons of ice cream!

If you want fresh pretzels, you can buy them in the gift shop afterward. There's a small parking lot on the side as well as street parking. Charlie, our tour guide made the history of pretzel & Sturgis family interactive, fun well learning history of oldest pretzel bakery. For me, visiting there production factory of other well known pretzels, felt like a piece of puzzle; into pretzel history. The tour itself $6, 1/2 hour long, 150 year old bakery, where the soft pretzel are still made. The decor,pretzel tree, and products were sold, with soft pretzels, made in house , and option to get cheese on the side. He was kind enough to offer us a tipping off of the wine and some bits of dark chocolate. We waited another 10 minutes or so and decided to go inside to see if we could begin our tasting. We were told it would be another five minutes or so. At that point we were getting tired of waiting, the gentleman was becoming testy (we don't think at us, but more at the guy leading the tasting to the group there before us), and we were not impressed at the Cabernet we had had already, so we decided to leave. We came on a Sunday afternoon in November, and he was on cloud 9 the whole afternoon. We did both the main museum and the chocolate lab experience, ($78 for the three of us) and I wanted to do the chocolate tastings of chocolates from around the world, but the lab and museum were already expensive enough. I love museums and thought the museum portion was particularly well done. Very informative, well laid out and easy to follow. Lots of interesting information about Milton Hershey's life and the empire he built. The chocolate lab experience was 45 minutes and a little hokey. "Making chocolate" amounted to a quick arts and crafts project using melted milk and white chocolates, followed by a power point presentation on how chocolate is made. The museum store has a lot of fun things for purchase that I assume you can't find outside of Hershey, such as chocolate colognes. Overall we had a good time and would recommend it as a fun place to spend and afternoon with kids.

Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and the bartender was especially personable. One of my favorite moments was awkwardly pulling out my Tupperware container to take home leftovers. Instead of looking at me funny, the staff actually encouraged it and mentioned that there's often extra food that would otherwise go uneaten. As someone who hates wasting food, I appreciated that a lot. The food was surprisingly good. We had jerk chicken, sliced brisket, and salmon, and all three proteins were generously portioned and flavorful. The jerk chicken had a nice balance of savory spices with just a little heat, the brisket was tender and smoky, and the salmon was moist and well prepared. The salads were fresh as well, especially the chickpea and tomato salad, which had a bright, refreshing flavor that paired nicely with the richer entrées. My favorite side dish was definitely the elote. It was creamy, slightly tangy, and packed with sweet corn flavor. Every bite had that combination of richness and freshness that makes you keep going back for more. The views were fantastic. Cruising along the river gives you a unique perspective of both Philadelphia and New Jersey, especially as the sun starts to go down. The top deck was my favorite area. There were lawn games like cornhole and Connect Four set up, which gave people something fun to do between eating, dancing, and taking photos. Getting to the dock and finding parking was easy. With it being at the end of summer, there wasn't a bunch of tourist parked in the parking lot. And as directed to, I got to the docking 45 minutes before departure. There were photo ops, they also allowed boarding maybe 30 prior. From boarding to the on-board service the crew was friendly and attentive. Safety was apparent, as they ensured protocols were adhered when moving the stairway away from the boat, to going over emergency procedures . The servers came by and took our drink orders. They had a full bar and a good selection of mixed drink to choose from. The drinks didn't take long to come to the table and they were actually good with a little kick to them. Within 30 of departure dinner was available in buffet setting. I don't remember what they had because the liquor kicked in and I just wanted something to put on my stomach to soak up some of the alcohol. I will say, it was flavored well and visually look appetizing. Outside of dinner being good, and the licca hitting, it was enjoyable to go out on the deck and enjoy being on the deck. I've been on carnival cruises and this was a close experience to the enjoyment of being on the deck and stairing off into the distance. On the main deck they had Connect Four for additional entertainment. There was a prop anchor for photo ops. Lastly they had Corn Hole boards with bags. There were seating benches and tables on the deck. Back inside, there was a DJ playing some good stepping music like Boots on the Ground, and some of the other updated group dance songs. It was a total vibe. Not much more in can say about my experience on the City Cruise adventure. I have no complaints and as a whole, the crew made for a dope experience.
