If you, dear reader, find yourself stuck here, take solace in knowing you're at least in for some amazing food. It's got an eclectic menu with some Mexican favorites, as well as some Asian-inspired dishes. If you're grabbing food poolside, go for the ceviche verde--it might literally be the best ceviche I've had. Generous avocado, and the bite of some fierce serrano peppers make this the perfect beachside snack. After 5pm, it transforms into a fine dining experience. But don't worry about getting dressed up--everyone comes in their flip flops anyway. I highly recommend starting off with the bao--both the pork belly and shrimp + Chinese sausage varieties are outstanding. There are options for vegetarians as well--my sweet potato enchiladas with mole were rich and filling. Service is attentive and swift, the atmosphere is ritzy and comforting. Best of all, you will be very impressed with the prices! Some of the best meals in Puerto Penasco, but they only run 20-30 American dollars. We opted to eat indoors with the AC (a rare thing on the Malecon) even though there is nice outside seating, rooftop and street-side. We'll do that in the Fall and Spring. We had a Cabernet Sauvignon, Pescado (fish) del Chef and Pescado Diabla. All excellent. The PDC was flounder stuffed with shrimp, garlic, tomato, bacon, etc with a buttery sauce. The Pescado Diabla was flounder with a red sauce. I've seen PD on other menus, so I was curious when partner ordered it. The wine was Chilean (Casillera something) and was pronounced "really good" by my partner. The individual glass of wine was poured from a bottle opened at our table. Definite plus. I expected the Chef's Special to be good, and it was. The Diabla will probably be an entree for me to ponder next time, because I liked the red sauce; a delayed, slow, pleasant tang/burn. The flounder seemed a little dry, but this was the 1st time I'd tried this preparation, so I'll try the same entree elsewhere and compare. We walked to the restaurant from our hotel (Vina del Mar), so parking wasn't the festive game it normally is, and the restaurant is ADA compliant, if that's a concern (it is to us). A couple of things seemed slightly off-kilter for a restaurant this nice. There are 4 sizeable (40"?) TVs inside which seemed distracting to me, so we'll just eat outside next time (cooler temps). And I hadn't noticed that no bread was offered with our entrees until we wanted to sop up our respective sauces halfway through the meal. Our server offered us tortillas and/or bread when we asked him. Problem solved. There are a LOT of good restaurants here, so choices are difficult. I THINK this is on our short list. But luckily, we found El Pabellon! Cute new restaurant right behind Jessies Fish Market. Great menu, great food and great prices. My wife had the tasty French Toast, including fruit and choice of meat for under $10. While I had the yummy Pabellon Breakfast Omelet, stuffed with sausage and cheese along with potatoes, refried beans, and toast for under $12. We came to the Malecon area during Rocky Point (Motorcycle) Rally in November 2025…read more With that being said- this area is pure chaos. The sidewalks are filled with vendors and guests. They can get very cramped. During the event- there are tables and chairs, curbside- but, for a fee- I think. And probably, first come- first served. Our friends are regular Rally attendees and come to Linda Vista every year. While our group of friends, that come to Linda Vista every year- hung out by their motorcycles watching the Rally debauchery- we were hungry and needed lunch. Not sure if this just because of Rally- but, we were flagged down by Linda Vista staff - street level to go upstairs for lunch. Out of the 3 of us- my bestie does NOT partake in seafood. She's of the VERY simple things. Quesadilla. LOL I can't recall what hubby got. But, I did order a basket of fries. I kept telling myself that I'm gonna order a shrimp cocktail. But, typical me- I decided on Pescado Frito (fried fish). Something I've been craving for a few weeks. Once we placed our order- our server walked up to me with a fresh caught Sea Bass in a plastic bag. *The fisherman for Linda Vista are also next to the stairs that lead up to the restaurant. That way, you can pick the fresh catch of the day. I should've asked how many pounds that sea bass was, because it took up a good chunk of the plate when I was served!
