It would have been great if they communicated to make sure the order was done correctly, but now it's ruined with no time to make corrections. After 25 years and a lot of use, the lining on my leather jacket was totally shredded. Other shops refused the job of replacing it, and one other would charge me a fortune to do it. A ripped back pocket on an adorable pair of shorts. A "slim fit" button down that needed to be a little slim-fittier. A pair of discount curtains that needed to hang "just so" above a radiator. These were the challenges that needed tending to. So after checking out a couple places on Yelp, I decided on Reymond's and I'm so glad I did. The owner is great. Really hospitable and friendly, always wearing a smile. The work they do is terrific too. Measurements match requests. Quality of stitching is expert (and even matches the rest of the existing work, like on the aforementioned shirt and pocket.). Why the missing star? Two reasons, though neither will keep me from making Reymond my "go to" for tailoring. (One) Some staff members struggle with their english, and sometimes have to leave the area and get someone who can speak english more fluently. Again, I'm far from bilingual myself, but just a note that it can slow down the process of things when doing a drop off/pick up. (Two) The pricing seems like it's $10/item, no matter the work. I could be wrong about this, but both orders (shirt and shots, and pair of curtains) came to $20, each. I didn't ask why, it's not a critical issue and the work is solid, but just a note to maybe inquire about pricing up front if you have varying needs (loose button vs a torn jacket). All and all though, I truly am a fan of Reymond's and will be back whenever I need him. read more

I flew into Providence on a Sunday for a wedding the next day with suit pants that needed the leg tapered and hemmed and the waist taken in. I figured it would be nearly impossible to do but I yelped Reymond's Brother Tailor and saw they were open on Sunday so I took a chance figuring it could be done on Monday afternoon for a late evening wedding. Not only did Reymond's Brother Tailor finish the job on Sunday afternoon, the tailor did an expert job. I HIGHLY recommend this tailor for any alteration job. I wish he was located in Los Angeles. I am extremely happy with Reymon's Brother Tailoring Shop, located at the Wiggimat Laundromat. Rubén does great work, and his fees cannot be beat. A pair of my pants had a metal hook & eye closure that broke in a laundry cycle. A seam had also let go. I had only mentioned the closure that needed to be fixed, completely forgetting the serging was holding the seam in one place. It was a seriously subtle issue. The charge for fixing them? Only $5! When I got them back and put them on, the closure was placed perfectly and I realized that he had also fixed the seam, gratis. The second time I had Rubén make a repair, he replaced the whole hem on a skirt made of stretch cotton material. He had it done in 10 minutes and he didn't even charge me. He also stretched the material as he sewed to allow the hem to stretch as much as the material does. I wore the skirt last night and having another wardrobe malfunction was the furthest thing from my mind. Hem is still intact, and I am still happy! read more

Checked out Ruben's shop at the recommendations of Leah W. While not a flawless experience, I'll definitely be going back. I walked in with 6 items with a mix of dropped hems, loose/lost buttons, ripped belt loops... and for $30 Ruben not only repaired them beautifully, but cleaned the items, put them on hangers, covered in plastic wrap, and insisted on bringing them to my car. Shop is no frills, but lotsa heart. The shop was packed with men the morning I dropped off my stuff enjoying the news of laughter of the day. It was later in the evening on the night I picked up my things and he immediately offered me soda or water. Long live the mom and pop shop! And Ruben is a gentleman - dapper, kind, and seemingly genuinely appreciative of the business. Gripe? He didn't have it done by the date he said he would. I dropped everything off on a Thursday stating there was NO rush. He said everything would be ready by Monday and gave me his card with his personal cell phone on it. I waltzed in the following Wednesday (after he wasn't there when I popped in Tues am) having every reason to believe everything would be done. It wasn't, but in fairness to him, he did tell me to call first. He whipped up the remaining detailing right there on the spot. Took about 15 minutes, but it was kinda awesome just chilling and chatting watching him work. I guess all's well that ends well, but I was disappointed to find my stuff incomplete 2 days after he said it would be done. Lesson learned - next time I will call ahead! TIP: CASH ONLY read more

When it comes to what I wear, I'm picky. I can never seem to find the right leg length when I buy pants. Usually, I need to purchase longer length. After purchasing clothes that fulfill my needs, I go to Reymonds and have my clothes tailored to me. I work with the public, so I must carry a reputable image. I was very displeased with my experience here. I came here because I was new to the west side and needed a simple hem: other yelpers had Reymon's listed excellent reviews. I came for a simple hem of 2" and somehow it was hemmed 15"; which is a simple mistake, it happens. However, instead of admitting flaws & immediately fixing the problem & replacing my item, I had to jump through hoops just to get the imperfect, original item back.
