I used to love Reyna's in Harlingen. The food was wonderful. I ate there yesterday, and sadly it will be the last time. I ordered the lean brisket tacos plate. what I received looked like no other brisket I'd ever seen. the color was weird, and it tasted like it was boiled, and as an afterthought put on a grill for a minute. I cut off enough fat to fill the bowl my beans were in. My friend got a brisket plate, and I saw her spit out several pieces in her napkin that were so fatty that she couldn't chew She kept apologizing for having to do that. My meal cost $17 with tax and was way overpriced for what I received. The staff was really nice, but the food (brisket) was awful! There were also a lot of flies in the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and they take your order very quickly. They have lots of options to pick from. Although they were out of Mac and cheese which is the main reason I came here (The Trinity Sandwich). They were also out of water at both soda machines. They were also out of hand sanitizer. The BBQ was really good, the brisket, pulled pork, and sausage were all really good. The mashed potatoes were very bland and not very creamy. The waffles fries were amazing. Reyna BBQ is a locally owned bar and grill restaurant in the valley, I have not been to this particular establishment myself, so I had high hopes for my initial review of this restaurant. Located in Harlingen, Texas, this little Texas BBQ restaurant prides itself on "traditional and local spices" and "smoked prime brisket and meats". Unfortunately, I am underage, and I cannot drink alcohol, so I will be judging my review on food and nonalcoholic drinks. Walking in, I was in for a pleasant surprise; it looked modern, clean, and it exceeded my expectations for a bar and grill. After my Intal view my expectations and excitement were high and truly believe I found something special. The service was impressive for RGV standards, talking to the front of house was a pleasant experience, they were friendly, patient, clean, and helpful and it was exceptional. Moving onto the cleanliness, it was beautiful, inspecting multiple tables, floors, and counters I could not find a spec of crumb or spot of grease, they even personally inspected my table to ensure it has been cleaned. With a clean restaurant and a magnificent staff my expectations were high and optimistic... unfortunately that is where the complements stop, starting with the sides: Although mac & cheese is a staple side for any BBQ establishment, a gooey, cheese filled pasta complimented with the chief's choice of additives... this failed to capture that experience. Not only are you served a micro sized portion (unfortunately this is a common occurrence with the sides), but you can only taste cheese and no seasoning, on top of that I would not doubt if this was from a can, the macaroni was just mush and had no type of seasoning, the taste can be compared to the amount of love they out in it, non-existent. As for the peach cobbler, it is sub-par at best, my first bite and the only thing I can think of, canned peach. As for the bread and spices, it too suffers from the exact same problem, bland, flavorless, and just mush, the price was the only reason why this desert was appealing. Moving on to our entree I had ordered, the garlic parm wings looked beautiful. Its color, skin, and seasoning look magnificent. Sadly, my initial bite left me thinking one thing, hot, too hot for this being garlic parm. It was tragic to realize this was closer to hot wing than garlic parm and on top of that, it was only hot, I did not taste any other flavor or seasoning. Finaly moving on to my main meal, the pulled pork sandwich. At this point I was praying to a higher being to please make this sandwich the saving grace of a disappointing evening. Inspecting the sandwich, it was just toasted buns, and meat, although plain holding a piece of meat and watching it break apart from just gravity and visible seasoning, my hopes were risen once more. And then I held the whole sandwich, the buns were soggy and soft but somehow the edge was still crispy. And then I took a bite, and my hopes were shattered. It was dry and salty beyond belief. For the price tag of 8 dollars this was simply a scam. Although I have been negative through this review, I have confidence this establishment can easily fix these rather small problems, although premade/preserved food is great for cutting the bottom-line, nothing will beat making your food from fresh produce in house. I would also recommend reevaluating and changing some of your seasonings, there is a mix of under-seasoned and over-seasoned food, this can be fixed by simply tasting your food before serving to ensure everything is properly made. I truly believe that once the food problem is fixed this can easily be a top 10 best restaurants in Harlingen. Overall, I sat down with high hopes and was met with mediocre BBQ restaurant with a beautiful interior. I thought I had found something special but instead it feels like they were more focused on looks than good food. My final score is a 2.8/5 lovely atmosphere but terrible food. read more

Very disappointed in Reyna's tonight! They messed our order up and when I called to complain they thought it was funny. They failed to put bbq sauce in the order when I asked for it specifically. Had lunch here today and it was all great!! Had the brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese, "moist" brisket plate with potato salad and Mac n cheese, and the brisket and chicken plate with Mac and fries. Tried Reyna's for the first time today. The food was fresh and tasty however, their service is a little too fast. I got up to go to the restroom and when I came back, they had cleaned my table. Wish I could have had the other half of my lunch. Make sure you don't come alone or don't leave the table until you're done eating. read more

The cashier was very friendly and asked if I would like to try their daily special. I went with the one meat combo of moist brisket. The two sides were cream corn and potato salad! Everything was so delicious. I highly recommend this place. Service was quick even on the lunch rush. Great staff and clean environment. So we saw this restaurant but it's a chain so why would we stop.....after 3 attempts at restaurants closed in Monday we came back around. They had a drive through and very clear menu!!!! We ordered 2 bakers loaded. So good!!! Lol it's not your uncles been smoking meat for 24 hours. So don't expect that but wow for fast food it's really good and the price even better!!! $10 for one!!!
