The food was absolutely delicious! But let's start with the margarita. It packs a punch and is just perfectly mixed and well balanced. They have mango and regular. I was happy with the regular flavor and it's a generous pour. Please don't try to drive home if you order this! Tajín rim me please? For my entree I ordered the veal Marsala. I almost cleaned the plate. The veal was so incredibly tender and well seasoned. The Marsala wine sauce was perfection and just the right amount to keep the angel hair pasta coated just right. I love mushrooms and the dish had the perfect amount of mushrooms too. I would totally order this dish again. My friend ordered the crab cakes and they were delicious too. Visiting from out of town with my mom. Have Colletti's a try. Great decision! Started with a regular & Italian margarita. Both were great but I loved my Italian version! I guess it was happy hour because price was great. I ordered the chicken piccata & my mom the chicken saltimbucca. Both got side salads with house vinaigrette and an order of bread with their herbed, whipped butter. Everything was so good & flavorful. The restaurant is very classy and well kept. Service was great as well. Portions are very good sizes. Not huge but plentiful. I'll definitely come again if I have the chance. read more

We recently revisited this restaurant after many years and I have to say it did not disappoint us. The soft warm lighting invites you in. Our service was excellent from the hostess greeting at the front door to our servers quick notice to our needs. Our food was so savory and delicious, I had the scallops and my 4yr old grandson couldn't stop eating them either. I have to say the cheesecake was wonderful surprise, light and airy with no over powering flavors smooth and creamy texture. We will definitely return to try some other dishes. read more

You will be fed for days here! The portions were huge so very friendly for family-style meals. Starting off with the goat cheese terrine, it was a nice appetizer where you can try out some different flavors in one dish. Each row was pretty flavorful and tasty! I got the chicken Parmesan as my main dish and both the chicken and spaghetti were a bit bland. The chicken crust had gotten too soft/soggy for my liking as well. The cheesecake was not that bad but wasn't a standout either since it had a bit of a gelatinous texture. The service was friendly and I loved the outdoor patio area since the weather was nice! There was plenty of seating both outside and inside. Overall I can see myself coming back here again if I wanted an Italian fix in Harlingen in a bit of a nicer setting than Olive Garden! read more

I honestly wish there was no stars for this restaurant. This is like the third time I go there and every time it's been so disappointing when we got there we waited 20 minutes for somebody to come and ask us for a drink order. We ordered water and wine 10 minutes later the water got there 20 minutes later the wine got there which is over 45 minutes we ordered our meal my friend and I ordered the Mediterranean chicken and it said that the chicken was sautéed with a creamy sauce sounded very healthy, which is why we ordered it when we got it to our surprise. The chicken was fried I think because it was so late they decided to give us what would be a chicken Parmesan patty, which was harder Than a Kentucky fried chicken patty. The sauce is horrible and the service was absolutely unacceptable.. The owners decided it was time to close the restaurant therefore turned off the lights on three tables, including my own, which is a table of six and all of us sat there in the dark for two minutes wondering what was happening well they wanted us gone. I will never be back. Save your money eat at Olive Garden or anywhere else other than this place. read more

Colletis has been great in the past. Today I went for a nice lunch with my wife, and was sadly disappointed. We were going to split a pizza. Prices are up, split a pizza adds 3.50 to the bill. Ok, I get it but.... My water glass had lip stick. Then we waited 30 minutes for our pizza and it was burned (we sent it back. All together we were there almost an hour before we even got edible food). We got a sorry, but no discount on food or anything. Sadly, I think eating out is not what it I used to be. My wife and I celebrated our 28th anniversary tonight. They did a Great job with the calamari, although it was well seasoned. Dinner was very good, the salads were small but the dinner bread was delicious. Sea bass was cooked perfectly but the orzo was bland. The veal picatta was delicious. Desserts were not so good. The fancy tiramisu was missing enough cocoa to counter the sweetness and the stabilizer in the cream feels like glue on your mouth after a few bites. Tried to order an iced Bailey's and coffee. They don't make iced coffee? Had to make it myself- they brought me thin coffee, a cup of ice, some cream and a shot of Bailey's. Strangest thing I have ever seen. This is the second time we have dined here, the first time was in March. I love Italian food and the spaghetti and meatballs were very good the sauce has lots of flavor and is not sweet. The chicken piccata was just plain sad. I think our order had sat under the lamp for a bit the piccata sauce was set and appeared to have corn starch it was more like gravy. After reading some not-so-favorable reviews, I was unsure whether I wanted to try this place, but I sensed that many people considered it a favorite and there wasn't much competition nearby for Italian, so I gave it a try. The ambience was wonderful- romantic. There was live music on the patio and flowers on the tables. The gas lamps on the wall were nice. The place was reasonably full but we were seated right away and service was great. Our food came out promptly and it was hot. Portion sizes were fine. The prices were very reasonable. I'm not Italian nor from New York and not really picky, but I've had better food. The Italian dressing on the salad was way too sweet. The salad itself was small but it was fresh and had plenty of variety. The chicken piccata and fettuccini alfredo were both absolutely swimming in sauce. It was like noodle soup. The focaccia bread was good but I could have used a sharper knife to cut it. I'd come back mainly for the ambiance. read more

Been here a couple of times and although I was somewhat impressed the first time around, my experience the second time was not as good. The calamari was excellent, though one might think it a bit salty at times. Careful with the dip; it's quite spicy! Ask for the bread; you'll want more. Don't sit outside if there's hardly anyone the; you might get forgotten. The seabass was delicious, but the Marsala was underwhelming. I did like the side Caesar, though it was hard to eat with the small salad plate. Steak risotto was creamy, but a bit salty as well. The food made the trip worth it. We drove an hour to eat at this restaurant and celebrate my birthday. The wait to be seated wasn't long and the restaurant's tables looked sparse with people. Upon being seated, it did take a noticeably long time to be asked for our beverages. I'd estimate a good 10 minutes before I asked someone to stop and send us our waiter. The waiter herself, Larissa, was nice. She asked us for our drinks and appetizers. We ordered a Margarita Pizza as an appetizer and 4 of us shared it. There were 2 slices left, but soon disappeared before our meal was brought. The pizza was brought after a 20 minute wait. The time lengths are noticeable because the waiter wasn't coming to our table often to ask us for refills or if we needed anything. But, when she did come, she would be nice and forthcoming. The food was worth the wait, as it was bountiful and delicious. We all ordered a lasagna and as a side, I ordered meatballs. The other couple ordered sausage as a side. From what they told us, the meat is not purchased pre-made (like packaged sausage) but prepared there. I must say that the lasagna was sizable enough for two. Since it was my birthday, the table asked if they did anything for birthdays. They said they gave a free chocolate cake slice, good enough to share. They ran out, but we were given a dessert of choice. We went with a Tiramisu, which for it being free, it was ok, but it wasn't as moist as I am used to. Still, thankful for it, though. This restaurant is attempting to be a 5 star restaurant, and for this being the Rio Grande Valley, it does stand out. However, they need to minimize the wait times from the waiter. There were easily over 7 waiters for about 13 tables being occupied, but I don't understand why the wait took long. The server was nice, though, so no complaints there. read more

Had never tried Colletti's but glad I finally did. I ordered the cremini and shrimp pasta and the cioppino soup. Both were delicious! The soup had a nice little spicy kick that wasn't too much. The broth was very flavorful and I could definitely taste the seafood but it wasn't an overly fishy flavor it was just perfect. I was happily surprised by how delicious the cioppino was. I got a cup but kind of wished I would have ordered a bowl. I also loved the broth so much, I wish the broth ratio was a bit higher. The cremini and shrimp pasta was also very good. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the sauce was delicate and delicious, although I wish there were a few more shrimps on the plate. That being said, the portion sizes were not crazy big, which was actually quite nice. We also had the garlic bread and butter which was great too. We didn't have room for dessert, but the desserts sounded so good. Next time will do dessert. So yes, there will definitely be a next time. read more

Minestrone was probly the most bland soup ive ever eatin the Campbell microwavable i had at work had more flavor. No pasta 4 beens and a god awful amount of what i assume was cabbage. A square soup bowl makes no sense you cant scoop all your soup. Place looked nice though lighting was perfectly dim, music was low and not over bearing people were quiet. Our large group ended up in a private room in the building adjacent to the main restaurant which was great to be in our own space so we could chat amongst ourselves. We had a prix fixe meal with choices regarding entree and dessert. I had the zucchini picatta which was ok, but not amazing. Others enjoyed the chicken picatta or the salmon and a beef dish that I don't remember. Dessert choices were the tiramisu or the chocolate cake. We had a serve yourself appetizer of shrimp and cheeses which was lovely. The staff was amazing! They really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, even fetching me bourbon so you know I love them. The private room was big and airy and probably a great reception space. As we left there was a string quartet playing in the courtyard which made for lovely exit music. read more
