I called multiple other companies and no one else was available quickly or at all (this was a Sunday night). I called his service - City Wide Towing - and immediately got ahold of Rick. Rick was polite, professional, and got to me in ten minutes. His tow rate the lowest of the couple options I had (and between the two, he was the only one free to meet me ASAP). I thought my car was needing to be towed (it had failed during the multiple attempts to jump it with jumper cables), so the only conclusion I could think of was a dead battery. When Rick arrived, I was in an upset and nervous state after being by myself on the side of the road, with night time approaching, and after having fumbled through other failed options. Rick was extremely reassuring and helpful - he was patient with me as I explained my situation, and he asked if he could attempt to jumpstart it himself. Voila! (My car battery is in a really weird place and very difficult to attach cables to). Even if my situation would have necessitated a tow, I still would have felt very comfortable working with Rick. Castro's gave us the total fee during our phone call. They took only 45 minutes to arrive after we called. In comparison, after 4.5 hours on two different holds with GEICO, GEICO had not acquired a tow truck for us. GEICO's towing service is a waste of your time and your money. Meanwhile, Castro's was careful with the front apron on my daughter's SUV, so that it was not scraped as her SUV was towed onto the tilt-bed. Allstate assigned my tow request placed 7/2/2026 @10:35am CST, to TP Wrecker Service (AKA: Tow Pro Wrecker service phone number 972-938-3221). Pick up of vehicle located at CO-PART located 1701 E Belt Line Rd Wilmer, TX, is 21 miles from tow Pro Wrecker. By 11:20 am CST, I was on the phone with TP wrecker paying my out-of-pocket portion of $104.17 which was in addition to the$120.00 that Allstate was paying via PO#1061594085. The vehicle needed to be picked up prior to 4pm as Co-Part closes at 4:30pm. I followed up with TP wrecker service a total of 5 times from 11:20am all the way to 4pm to asked on arrival time & assigned driver. Every time I spoke to a different lady dispatcher which would say that they did not have an assigned driver, and that they understood timeline. I also advise on every follow up call that there is a per diem cost from Co-Part if it was not picked up by end of day July 2nd. Driver was not assigned until 4pm, arrived at closed location at 4:41pm, car was NOT picked up. What makes this egregious, is that today July 3rd I called requesting to speak to dispatch mgr. a male got on phone extremely unprofessional & condescending. When I asked for his name, he said while on loudspeaker," my name is none of your F***king business!" and hung up on me. I called back and asked for my refund on portion I paid out of pocket, response was "you'll get it sometime within a few days and hung up! Co-Part is closed due to holiday; I will incur per day cost. They took my copay & Allstate payment. Was treated horribly, 6 hours wait w/NO service rendered, is unacceptable. Not ethical way of doing business, unacceptable wait time, not a way to treat customers and cheat system. I hope that registered owner Danny Girard wasn't the rude male on the phone. Notification to Allstate has been done.
