I like the ambiance of this space, with exposed brick walls...it sort of has a "warm" feeling to it. The booths in the back are a little uncomfortable, but I might just be being picky. It's never been super packed any time I have gone which is nice because you don't have to wait forever in line. $5 pints, but $1 off during Happy Hour, so pretty affordable. I had my money out waiting for the bartender. He walks over to me and states rather rudely "just a little tip, don't wave your money around, it's not going to get you served any faster" (I didn't feel like I was waving it around but I guess if I was that wasn't my intention). He takes the money and gives me my change. I was so appalled I said "wow, you won't be getting a tip back from me" he states "I don't have to serve you" and continues to go do other things around the bar and ignores me. I stated that I wanted my money back if he wasn't going to give me my beer. He went into the til grabbed my $10 and threw it down. I asked to speak to the manager in which he said "I AM the manager". I completely understand the right to refuse service to anyone but this was completely out of line. You can't go wrong with this place. It's a really chill bar, and it's great in the spring when they open up all the windows. Be advised, there's no food at this establishment, but you are welcome to bring in food from other places (there's pizza and Gomez right around the corner). They do live Trivia on Wednesdays, but it's not one of those services. I'm am fairly certain that they put it together themselves! And the winner gets a $50 gift certificate!!! Sadly, I haven't won, but I'll be frequenting back there to try and win. At the end of the day, this is a sports bar. They don't have a lot of TVs, but they can play a number of games at a time. I immediately felt comfortable my first time here, which is a nice change of pace from a lot of the other overly-hipstery OTR bars (I like those places too but don't feel as 'at home' there). I actually stumbled across this spot by accident - I was out for a run and ran into someone I knew outside that was on his way in. There's still a lack of singage... I had heard about Rhinehaus before visiting and was able to figure out where I was based on all the TV's showing sports. I sat at the aforementioned awesome community table. We had a Young Professionals event midweek and after work here. It was a great venue. It's small enough to be intimate, but a few groups could easily hang distinctly. They had 4 ciders available which gives them a huge advantage in my book. There were tv's on, I'm pretty sure, but the space really allowed us to talk among ourselves with little effort. Rhinehaus is a pretty fun bar in downtown Cincinnati. I actually came here twice in one night: For drinks before dinner and for drinks after dinner. There was a big difference in the crowd and atmosphere during the 2 times I was here. Around 7 pm: Very laid back. Was easy to get a table and a beer very quickly. They serve a lot of local beers and I would definitely suggest it for happy hour. Around 11 pm: Woah! Totally different vibe. Pretty crowded, but still a lot of fun. The place keeps you in close counters and makes you, make friends. The bathrooms are the only remorse but that's only an experience if you manage to get to them on a busy night. And they are still stocked up just not that private. You hear me, boyzzzz!?! Do not come here looking for fancy or a cute decor, come here looking for a good time with good friends. This is like traveling through time and walking into a bar with your dad or uncle, ok maybe grandpa, to a place they use to go to when they were 16 and causing mischief- good ol'days. Super simple and Midwest but welcoming to everyone. The bartenders got your back even when it gets insane. Rhinehaus is just what OTR needs. This place definitely has a dive bar feel to it, but with all the tvs in place, you can be sure to watch your favorite game while you're there too. In terms of the set up and look of the bar, it's pretty awesome. I'm a big fan of the cool bar top, community table in the back, and of course the classic brick walls you see throughout this area. It's a fun place to grab a beer with your friends, and a great addition to Cincinnati. Only warning I have is that the beers seem to be a tad overpriced. Came in on a Tuesday night. When we first came in, it wasn't too busy. The bar was split in a front room and a back room, although it was fairly small to begin with. I walked up to the bar and looked at the taps. It was fairly dark and I had trouble seeing what exactly was on tap... or maybe my eyesight really is getting that bad. The bartenders were cool and quick. The beers I got were $5 a pint. There were a lot of tvs playing the MLB playoffs and other games. The center tv and the sound system was hooked up to play a movie. It seemed the group on the other side was having a movie night. I enjoyed watching the movie and having a few beers. Came here to watch FC Cincinnati game and the service is terrible. Back room has 6 tvs and the soccer game is on one that is super grainy and cuts off the time left in the match. Told the staff and they shrugged it off and left college he derby and boxing on all the tvs. read more

Probably one of the best services I have ever received in a bar. Sounds like im exaggerating but it is a fair perspective. The bartender was working by himself with the bar full of people and everybody seemed content with their drinks, I never had to wait for more than 2 minutes for a beer. Went here for some friends from Wisco invited me to watch their team the Packers (since apparently this facility is a Go Pack Go ally here in the Queen City). Initially I was confused because I always knew this spot to be only bout FC games...I was quite surprised when entering to notice that sure enough this is a safe place for Packers to go to. Their draft selection is nice and while there, definitely capitalize on their Rhinos. I haven't tried one that has yet to disappoint. You can bring outside food since there's no kitchen present. We were heartbroken to find Gomez was not open. We weren't feeling Goodfella's either but decided to try Lucy Blue which was a good option. I walked into the bar today for a lunch beer and it was very impressive for its first day of operation. Lots of delicious beer on tap and friendly bartenders. Jack is a cool guy who loves soccer and beer, a great combo. The place is clean, lighted well, and they have many screens playing sports that aren't in-your-face but if you're interested in watching sports they're around. The building is architecturally intriguing since there is a lot of exposed brick and original wood floors, this is nice to see in places like OTR. it's a nice change of pace from the few options available in OTR. I would recommend it for a relaxing dress code and hanging out with friends and drinking some good beer. They don't have a kitchen, so that's something to remember but also Jack was fine with us bringing some take out into the bar with us. will go back often. looking forward to happy hour menus and the like. read more

Unfortunately, OTR's rejuvenation a la hipsters leaves the area lacking in the sports bar realm. I guess hipsters don't care about "the game" and whatnot, but this girl does! Rhinehaus is located in OTR right near Japs and Neons. It's a small dive bar with a good selection of TVs. It has a decent selection of draft beers with mostly IPAs. The only thing that differentiates Rhinehaus from other dive bars (besides arguably more expensive beers) is their shot selection which is excellent. Each of their listed shots is a shoo-win hit, and for those that like sweet shots in particular, prepare yourself for a night of debauchery. read more

It's tiny, but it's a sports fan's dream with so many flat screen TVs- you can see a tv or two or three from every angle. Nice, lower-key spot to grab a drink or watch a game.
