Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted. The barista at the register patiently waited for me to review the menu and decide what I wanted. When I asked for a recommendation, choosing one latte or another, she asked a coworker what they'd recommend which is what helped me decide. I got the iced wedding cake latte and rhino burrito, and both were phenomenal. Dare I say, the burrito is one of the best I've ever had. To top it all off, this place had the chill vibe I needed to soak in before hitting the road for 4 hours. They play music, but it's not super loud, so it's easy to get work done here if needed. The rhino biscuit comes with a huge and flavorful bit of scrambled egg - highly recommend upgrading to the jalapeño cheddar biscuit, which was really nice. Great place to study! This location has a lot of good seating, and a bar seating as well! The staff are always friendly here, and service is pretty quick! I tried some of the food that they offered, and the breakfast burrito does not disappoint! It is very tasty, rich in flavor, and moderately priced. I got the woolly rhino, which is always a great drink to have. I also sometimes get the east side latte, which has a bit more of a chocolatey flavor, and is also very good. This made a super decent spot for a stop during a road trip... not too far away from the 20 freeway, but way better with more atmosphere and character than a roadside Starbucks. The bathrooms are way down the hall and shared with a business center/apartment complex. You need a code to get in. Parking downtown was tight and there were a lot of one way streets! I tried a pumpkin latte and it was perfection. Not too sweet and flavored like a pumpkin pie. Their breakfast burrito was delicious. My friend wanted to order a salmon salad, but they were out. The baristas were very creative in coming up with a substitute. This place had decent seating and even a couple of comfy armchairs with outlets nearby so this could be a great place for working. read more

I love coming here on my breaks from work because I work close. Absolutely love the service , the coffee , and the food. The last 5 times I've came here in the mornings they have "no kitchen staff". Sucks because they have the best breakfast if you don't want to opt for fast food working early mornings. Great location. But there is room for improvement... I stopped in multiple times while in town on a couple trips and every time the wait was painfully long. Zero urgency by the single barista. Maybe that's part of the chill vibe, but something to be aware of and prepare to wait. Also as excited as I was about the gluten free bakery items, they were only stocked the first of the 4-5 times I visited. The last couple times I went they were out of half & half. 1) I don't know how that is possible, 2) when I ordered my drink that has half & half as part of the recipe the response I got was " sorry we can't make that today. We have no half-and-half." On a positive note I asked if they could make the drink with heavy whipping cream and after confirming with the barista was told yes they can do that. But why would you not offer that if you know you're out of half-and-half? Seems like an easy move to keep your customers happy. Again, I really do love this coffee and would recommend a visit to this shop but pack your patience and prepare to be flexible in what is available. read more

Rhino is a coffee institution in Shreveport. They have an uptown location and a downtown location. I visited the downtown location today. I got the Eastside Latte and a muffin. Both tasted excellent! They also are said to have great hot food, though I haven't tried their food yet other than the pastries. Service was quick and efficient. They also had an extra iced almond milk mocha that they hooked me up with for free, which was awesome. This is a great place to study at, too. I highly recommend it. read more

We've had better coffee elsewhere, but we love the atmosphere and being in downtown Shreveport. I really like their iced lightning! Definitely for the people who like sweet coffee drinks. It has mocha and who knows what else mixed in. Very good. Their pastries are a hit or miss. The one thing we have found to like is their coffee cake! So good especially if you ask them to warm it up. Great amount of cinnamon and such a soft texture. We've also tried their cinnamon roll, one of their biscuits, and a cookie. All were mediocre, and we wouldn't order again. I've been here only once for lunch, and the chicken salad sandwich is meh and not worth the price. Get the lightning and the coffee cake! Those two items have my vote. Had a very good breakfast at Rhino on a Saturday morning around 9:00. I was with my 8 year old son and there were only 5 or 6 other people in the shop. More came in, but I would imagine this place is much more crowded on a weekday. My son went with the bacon breakfast burrito on a whole wheat tortilla and I had sausage, eggs, and cheese on a toasted everything bagel. We split a breakfast scone as well. These things are great savory counterparts to what is typically a sweeter pastry. Made with bacon, cheese, and chives, they had a slight crumble like a biscuit and the outside was crispy. Very flavorful, you could definitely tell that each ingredient was in there. Highly recommended. The bagel sandwich was large, really too large to get your mouth around. I ended up using a knife and fork, so it ended up being a bit messy. But, it's a good solid everything bagel and the sausage was standard. The eggs appeared to be microwaved but were seasoned well. My son really like his burrito, nearly finished it, which for him is saying something. The ingredients were not evenly distributed, only about half the bites had bacon in them. Glad we stumbled across the Rhino. Don't know when I'll be in Shreveport again, but I know when I do come back to town breakfast is already decided upon. read more

These folks can make a great cup of coffee, but they're always so busy. Never a place to sit. Until now. They've expanded into the outside. So maybe with sidewalk seating, I'll have a place to chill in comfort. I've tried the raspberry coffee, the mocha coffee, and just a plain old fashioned coffee. I favored the just give me coffee, coffee. It was a pretty good cup of joe. I've also had a cookie. Very good. And a macaroon. Sweet. But good. I also ordered a jalapeño cheddar biscuit and to my surprise it was HUGE! The biscuit is super fresh & fluffy! The eggs were seasoned so well. The staff was SUPER friendly and patient as we decided what to order. The husband and daughter both got the Rhino burrito while I ordered the biscuit with egg. The salsa that came with the burritos was so good! And my sandwich was HUGE!!! I thought that because the sandwich was a dollar less than the burritos that it would be a bit smaller. I have this a 2 star instead of a one because of the atmosphere. they did a great job of decoration and that's where the positive ends. The staff are not too friendly and have a depressed vibe, the toasted bagel took way too long to get, and the coffee tasted week.
