Walking the shops in Tofino on a cold January day and needed something warm to drink and a small bite. Decided to check out Rhino Coffee. We ordered a mocha and a chai latte. Not much mocha flavor although the coffee was really good. I did like the chai latte. As a quick snack I also had a gluten free coconut topped donut. Very well done for a GF donut!

Really cute and busy coffee shop! There were a lot of groups gathering here for a dine in / take out scenario. The donut was good but the cookie was even better (sorry no photo!). It's best enjoyed fresh there and then in my opinion! They have a bathroom in the back but I didn't use it so unsure of the upkeep of it. Staff are nice enough and everyone seemed genuinely happy with their orders.

Bronuts are Rhino Coffee House's gift to mankind. Okay, maybe these are a thing elsewhere but it was a breakfast sandwich in a donut. UGHHHHHHHHHHH Where can I find these outside of Tofino? It was so freaking good. Please get a bronut breakfast sandwich. My boyfriend got a fully loaded breakfast wrap that was really heavy and not flavourful but I'm not even gonna dock any stars. He said it just wasn't great but not bad, just kind of dry and bland so there's that hot tip for you! AVOID THE WRAPS (looks like some other people have written similar reviews). We loved our coffees and we also got a maple bacon donut which we got to eat while we wait for our breakfast items which was the best decision. It was the bomb.

Came here on a whim for an afternoon pick me up. This place was quite busy! Service was speedy and we got our drinks pretty fast. Seemed others waited longer for their sandwiches. I tried the coconut cream and sour cream donuts. The coconut cream was very average, with enough filling but quite tough dough. The sour cream traditional yeast donut, however, was super dry! We also tried the lattes as well which I felt were pretty watered down with minimal foam. Overall was not worth the money spent (came out to over $19 after tips for 2 small lattes and 2 donuts!!) Photo depicts my coffee lid melting before finishing my drink :,)

Beautiful space with an expansive menu full of artisanal coffee drinks and sweet treats--it's hard to resist the doughnut display! I got myself a sour cream glazed doughnut and an iced chai latte. The doughnut was decent--it could've used more glaze and the chocolate drizzle muddled the tangy sour cream flavour profile, but it was still good overall. I liked the tea latte because it wasn't overly sweet. The paper straw it came with was a pleasant surprise! I had actually brought my own reusable straw because I wanted to reduce plastic use, but I didn't have to use it! If it's a nice day, you can enjoy your coffee (or other drink of choice) outdoors-- it's a great spot for people watching!

I agree with some reviews here. I think this place is overrated and it is just busy because there is no much option around. The other coffee store/bakery close by is cash only. Long line ups for not much. Tried their wrap. It's good. Nothing amazing tho. My husband had a tuna wrap. He complained it had no taste. Coffee was ok too along with the service. Last, it's not a comfortable place. Noisy, crowded and you have to deal with the hassle to get a place to seat. This place is not for me, sorry.

Got veggie wrap that was delicious as well as some donuts to die for. Great service, cool decor and outside seating with heating lamps. They have fresh donuts for 3.45 but day old donuts under 2 dollars in a specific section. Also one of the only breakfast places open before 11 am in Tofino. Overall yum!!!

Mmmm dooonuts and fresh brewed coffee. Is there anything better? I have to say Rhinos Coffee House in Tofino has some of the BEST donuts (or doughnuts if your fancy) I've ever tried! I stumbled across them on my latest visit to Tofino and had a chance to try and abundance of their products (I was a little hungry)! Day 1 - Coffee and donuts. Let me tell you, the Maple Bacon is an absolute must, and their vegan stuffie? Drool worthy for sure. You better get there early or you'll miss out on the donuts entirely! Day 2 - Breakfast Bagel. Drool Drool Drool... seriously, I've never had such a delicious breaky bagel, mmmm bacooon. What's even better? They have a BRONUT, that's right friends, it's a breakfast bagel on a donut! Ermergerd. Day 3 - Matcha Green Tea Latte and another donut and another breakfast bagel (I couldn't resist!!!). That latte was perfectly sweet and so yummy! Luckily I made it in time for donuts before they sold out! Day 4 - Stocked up on all the coffee options to take home and keep enjoying. They have an online portal for you to pre-order, as it WILL be busy, it's a hot spot! They also offer catering and international shipping. You can buy their gear online like hats and mugs. You can also purchase some of their coffee online, choosing from Espresso, Medium Roast and Dark Roast. I found some of their Surfer Coffee in store so stocked up on that one! Be sure to check them out if you are heading to Tofino or stock up on their coffee online!

It feels like a local hidden gem. I love It! They are surrounded by beautiful ocean views which, adds to the experience. They offer a few different local beverages along with the classics. They also sell bags of local coffee from a few places. I really love this nice touch! Everyone was very helpful, kind, and efficient. They even told us that we had to purchase some Focaccia to take with us. I'm so thankful that they did! If you don't leave with one, you're crazy. It was huge! It tasted like a mix between focaccia and sourdough bread. I've never tasted anything like it before. It was incredible! We also bought two breakfast sandwiches. The Pancetta & Egger and the Diavola. Which, we're made to order in order to give you the best quality food possible. The sandwichs were divine! I can't wait to come back one day. We unfortunately, didn't get to try any lunch items. But, we will be back! If you're looking for incredible food and local flare. This is your place! Pancetta & Egger The pancetta was salty, savory, and crispy! It was so thinly sliced that it melted in your mouth and coated your tastebuds. It had that crunch that made it addictive and memorable! The eggs were fluffy, flavorful, and fresh. You could tell that they were farm fresh! The arugula was crisp, fresh, and peppery. It added that little bite and heat. I loved it! The pesto was sweet, salty, fatty, and flavor forward. It tied everything together to create an indulgent sandwich! The Fresh focaccia was my favorite part! It was airy, chewy, dense, light, salty, and tart all at the same time. It was truly magical! This sandwich was a true work of art! Diavola The spicy salami was chewy, crispy, hot, and spicy. The eggs were fluffy, flavorful, and fresh. They had an outstanding farm fresh taste. The arugula was crisp and refreshing. It had a nice bitter heat with a peppery bite. The pepper spread was sweet, silky, and smoky. It added that layer of flavor that made it unique. The Fresh in house made focaccia bread tied everything together to create an unforgettable sandwich. Fresh Focaccia Bread If you don't leave with one of these scrumptious pieces of art. Then, you're crazy! This focaccia is made right on the ocean which makes the finished product extra tart and developed in flavor. It's unlike anything that you'll ever taste since, every place has natural good bacteria and wild yeast that creates individual flavor profiles that you won't find anywhere else in the world! The famous focaccia was chewy, dense, light, and tart. It was lightly coated with olive oil with flakes of finishing salt which made me hooked on the taste! I'm counting down the days until I can taste this heavenly bread again!

In general the food was great and the staff was friendly (one barista that I dealt with was not very enthusiastic but they seemed like they were just really tired). The setting is beautiful! There's ample patio seating, and whether you sit inside or outside you get a beautiful view of the water. Curried cauliflower handpie: A fantastic savoury handpie with a flaky crust and a flavourful vegetarian filling. Some handpies are kind of flat with not a lot of filling but that was not the case here. It came with a mango chutney for dipping. Chocolate quinoa cake (GF): When I was choosing a dessert when I went here for lunch, I felt like I should get pie, but this cake looked so good and I did not regret trying it. Really fudgy and rich. Fantastic cake that definitely did not suffer from being made gluten free. If anything, the texture was better than a regular cake. Lemon buttermilk pie: This was the only thing I tried that I didn't like. I wanted to try this one because it seemed unique, as I don't think I've tried a custardy lemon pie before, but it was too sweet for me. The texture was lovely and the little pops of brightness from the berries were nice, but it was kind of hard to get through. Vegan breakfast cookie: Good but basic breakfast cookie with oats, seeds, and cranberries, held together by what tasted like peanut or maybe almond butter. I liked the texture - I'm not sure exactly what it was about it, but it tasted fresher than a lot of breakfast cookies I've tried. Chai latte: Good - I saw them making it, and they use a packaged but good chai concentrate, from Say When. It makes a strong, spicy chai latte that's not too sweet. Tea: They have Mighty Leaf tea which I think is pretty good. I got the green dragon tea here.

I came at 11 on a weekday and it was quiet, but I saw them get very busy at other times. Lise's benny was delicious! It wasn't a totally conventional combination of ingredients but it all worked together so well. I thought the hollandaise sauce was so good - it was the perfect consistency, no oiliness. The "tofu egg" was silken tofu with an agedashi-style breading. The breading made it not seem very egg-like to me, but it was good. I loved the spicy chicken nuggets too! I got a side house salad instead of the hashbrowns. The house salad was actually very good and substantial, not just some greens thrown on the plate. I got a golden chai latte to drink. It was made with a golden (turmeric) chai teabag which gave it a more complex flavour than turmeric lattes made with just turmeric. The benny was $20 and the latte was $6.5 (obviously with no alt milk charge). These were some of the most reasonable prices I experienced in Tofino, especially for a full service restaurant and considering the complexity of the dish. My waitress always came by at the right time and was very friendly. I came back later to just buy a sticker (saw they had stickers and meant to get one when I was there for brunch but just forgot), and the person who helped me then was also pleasant.
