This is the only vegan restaurant in Tofino. They mostly serve brunch food, but they're currently open later (until 8 pm) Friday and Saturday and serve the same menu all day. I came at 11 on a weekday and it was quiet, but I saw them get very busy at other times. Lise's benny was delicious! It wasn't a totally conventional combination of ingredients but it all worked together so well. I thought the hollandaise sauce was so good - it was the perfect consistency, no oiliness. The "tofu egg" was silken tofu with an agedashi-style breading. The breading made it not seem very egg-like to me, but it was good. I loved the spicy chicken nuggets too! I got a side house salad instead of the hashbrowns. The house salad was actually very good and substantial, not just some greens thrown on the plate. I got a golden chai latte to drink. It was made with a golden (turmeric) chai teabag which gave it a more complex flavour than turmeric lattes made with just turmeric. The benny was $20 and the latte was $6.5 (obviously with no alt milk charge). These were some of the most reasonable prices I experienced in Tofino, especially for a full service restaurant and considering the complexity of the dish. My waitress always came by at the right time and was very friendly. I came back later to just buy a sticker (saw they had stickers and meant to get one when I was there for brunch but just forgot), and the person who helped me then was also pleasant. read more

We went for brunch & I got the Matcha Latte, mushroom calamari, & the buffalo wrap. The customer service was great, the girl was super sweet & had great recommendations. The mushroom calamari was so delicious, I wanted to eat it all! & the buffalo wrap was 10/10 & quite filling with the side of fries it came with. This matcha latte was the earthiest I have ever had. It was cold so it hit the spot & the presentation alone was pretty. I came across this Gem while visiting Tofino. My family stayed at pacific sands resort and we drove into Tofino to grab lunch. Initially we were going to the Indian restaurant down the street but open reaching we discovered that that place was take out only due to staff shortages and the only person working there did not seem to understand the menu and seemed unhappy. I am glad we walked out and went to Bravocados! The staff is genuinely passionate about their food and ingredients. As a Vegetarian I often have to compromise on flavor and options and was impressed to see a place designed just for vegans and vegetarians. Plenty of mouthwatering options with healthy ingredients. Matching selection of soft and hard beverages. The Staff knows their stuff. They don't hesitate to share their recipes and methods. Don't go here because everything is vegan; eat here because everything is delicious af. No compromise vegan food. It's just really, really good food. In fact, forget I said anything about it being vegan. Fabulous food -- explanation mark. I had the black bean burger. A little bit crumbly, but still held together nicely. My wife thought it was a bit spicy because of the jalapeños in it, but she's a wimp with heat. Personally, I thought it could have used a little something more, another texture or something salty or sour. But regardless, overall, a good, tasty sandwich. Goldilocks bun -- not too soft, not too chewy. I'm not a fan of kale, so I didn't enjoy the salad. But my wife loved it. If this review was just the sandwich, I'd give it 3.75 stars. But the benny... 7.25 stars. Smooth, creamy sauce. Firm but easy to cut and chew muffin. Tangy. Creamy. Soft tofu that doesn't look, feel or taste like the boring styrofoam we typically tolerate. It's a vegan benny without compromise. It's not trying too hard to replicate a traditional benny. It's like a reinvented benny. Eat it. You'll love it. We had the Caesar salad a side. The fakon and dressing are epic. Honestly, better than a traditional Caesar. Lighter, less greasy, more flavour, doesn't overpower the lettuce. "Shove it in my mouth. I'm living under the table now to eat the scraps that people spill." -- that's my wife's contribution to this review. We finished off with some sort of chocolate mousse cake on cookie crust. We stumbled upon Bravocados while wondering about town and deciding it was time for lunch. We didn't want anything crazy filling because we had had some decadent meals around Tofino and we new we'd be having more through the week. Boy did they deliver exactly what we were hoping for. Light, unpretentious, substantial, affordable, and memorable. I really love a vegan place that doesn't try too hard to be something it's not. Do you know and like Meet restaurants in Vancouver? If so, you'll probably appreciate this place. My wife and I split the churrito and a couple yummy bao buns. Both were deliciously hearty and left us feeling satiated and ready to tackle more walks and hikes for the rest of the day. The staff are friendly and attentive. The locals abound. This vegetarian restaurant offers your classic North American fare, with some cultural twists. They have Greek, Hawaiian, Korean, and Mexican on their menu (at least)! You can order a variety of appetizers, bowls, wraps, burgers, and drinks. We ordered the Bravo burger with a side of corn - I'm underwhelmed that the burger doesn't automatically come with a basic side at $15? We also got 2 wraps, the korrito (a Korean inspired burrito with kimchi, jackfruit, mango, and rice) and a Greek wrap (classic wrap). The korrito wasn't as spicy as I expected something Korean inspired to be, but I really liked how they integrated jackfruit and mango into the wrap. Atmosphere and service are good. The interior deco is industrial with metal stools and wooden tables. They also have a few board games (battleship and maybe scrabble)! Overall I think it's great to have diverse dining options in a small town like Tofino. Would definitely recommend to my vegan friends, you could probably dine here multiple times on a trip and not get tired of it! read more

I visited this restaurant last week while visiting Tofino from the Okanagan. One staff member was extremely rude to me for no reason at all. This server told me that I had a "stupid face" and then proceeded to attempt mocking me by babbling some non sense about "plant based food" while he was giving me a look of disgust. I had not even spoke one word to the server and DID NOT deserve to be treated that way ( no one does). Needless to say, I left the premises without a purchase and will let my fellow Okanaganers know that Bravacadoes Tofino is not a place to go unless you want to treated like garbage. read more

Delicious vegan option in Tofino with stellar service. I was too ravenous to get a picture, but the breakfast burrito was delicious, solid 7/10, and the iced coffee hit just how it needed to after the long drive across the island (5.5 hours if you count the road closure). We serendipitously stumbled upon this spot during their happy hour special and ordered a taco plate for two along with some local Tofino beer they had - a perfect pairing for an afternoon of hiking, surfing, or hanging out around town! The taco plate came with three different proteins as well as a variety of toppings, so it was anything but monotonous. Another diner at our table tried the Thai Curry which was tasty, but the flavours did not hit the spot and the serving size was quite small considering the price. I cannot say enough good things about this place! I was staying at Tofino with friends for the weekend, and out of every place I tried out, this was my favourite. I'm a vegan and ordered this green smoothie (it didn't come with a plastic straw which I liked, as an environmentalist) for brunch. We tried this restaurant based on Yelp's recommandations. Nice little restaurant with a lovely hipster design. Diversified menu with both vegan and vegetarian options. Our food (two burgers and one burrito) was good, although on the pricier side (you have to pay $3 extra for a side dish). The homemade fries were good. My garden salad was way too sweet in my opinion and I had to return it. They didn't make me pay for it, which I appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was the service. Our waitress was not friendly and made funny faces and comments to her fellow cook when I told her "I'm really sorry but I don't like the salad". They came back several times during our dinner saying they were out of this or that and that they COULDN'T FIND the sorbet we ordered. As of now, this is the only vegan/vegetarian restaraunt in Tofino or the surrounding area. We were in town, so we decided to stop here fir some breakfast. There's limited seating so when we got there we waited 30-45 minutes to be seated. While I was waiting I was watching the kitchen area, and I could tell that the chefs put careful work into each and every dish they made. The place has a cozy atmosphere, and our waitress was very kind. We ordered waffles and breakfast tacos. The waffles were really interesting (avocado with chocolate and coconut drizzles) and I was surprised at how good they tasted. Never had waffles like that before! They were very fufilling as well. The vegan scramble tacos were even more delicious. They had an amazing flavour and if I were in the area I'd definitely make it a regular order. They give you three and they are loaded! I adore the yellow sauce it had in it, which they apparently make themselves. We also ordered a vegan brownie, which was a bit sweet for me but if you're craving a very sweet pastry that's definitely a good choice. All in all, it's definitely not a quick bite, but their food is scrumptious, so if you've got some time this place is definitely worth the stop. read more
